This cottage is a small, old style bach and is quite rustic, with neighbours on three sides. A good place to come back to at the end of days out sight seeing. Bathroom is very basic, and kitchen has recently had wonderful new large oven installed with gas hobs.
The Karikari Peninsula is off the main track, and has a unique feel and micro-climate all of it's own. Cottage is fairly central to many beautiful beaches - Matai Bay, Karikari Beach, Rangiputa, Perehipe Bay, Tokerau Beach.
Others sights to include on your visit are the Coca Cola Lakes further down Inland Road - warm swimming and contains healing tannins from surrounding manuka trees. Views from Mt Puheke are stunning.
Kite surfing is popular at Rangiputa, numerous locations for shellfish, fishing and diving. Easy boat launching all around.
Brilliant place to relax, and hang out/walk around, return to after fishing and diving, or exploring the many amazing spots of the Far North including Cape Reinga which is only 1.5 hours away.
Cottage is cosy and compact, ideally suit two, but room in main bedroom for portacot, and couch in lounge does fold out into double bed.
Tidy dog allowed (with all mess cleaned up). Site is fully fenced.
Local supermarkets are in Coopers Beach (25mins away) or Kaitaia (30 mins away). Small shop nearby has supplies, petrol and alcohol.
No Wifi, so come prepared with data on your phone if you need it.
Has TV which plays DVDS, but doesn't have freeview.
