About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Our cabin, Log Perch, sits high up on Screamer Mountain just minutes from Clayton, Dillard, Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain. It is fully equipped to make your escape to the hills memorable. Slip outside to the fully covered porch to swing or rock while enjoying a view that goes on forever. Build a fire inside to take the mountain chill off at night. Sleep to the sound of tree frogs in this cozy rustic cabin.

We are very close to North and South Carolina borders, and our location offers a wide variety of activities: trout fishing on the Coleman, Tallulah and Chattooga rivers, antiquing, shopping, fine and casual dining, site seeing, river rafting, hiking, winery tours, and boating on Lakes Burton, Rabun and Seed. There's even an old fashioned drive-in-movie.

Wherever you go, you will never meet friendlier folks than those in Clayton GA and the NE GA mountains. Y'all come see us!

Awesome quick getaway ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We are on our way home from our stay at Logperch. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. The cabin was comfortable and homey. We had a one year old with us, and it was very baby friendly. The owners were friendly and quick to respond to questions. It was close to many attractions, as well as, conveniences such as the grocery store. Thank you for such a pleasant experience, Dale!

Lovely get away weekend

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was the perfect location for our get away! We loved the location and the cabin itself. We ate breakfast at the Rusty Bike Cafe and it was delicious. Both nights we hung out on the porch and enjoyed view. The next day we were able to hike in two different national parks and did a wine tasting at Tiger Vineyards. We will definitely stay again!

Great cabin and close to lots of fun activities.

  • 5 of 5

My family loved our stay at the log perch cabin. The cabin had everything you need; however, we spent most of our time exploring the area and doing activities. The cabin is centrally located to many things to do. We did zip lining and white water rafting at Wildwater. We hiked the trails and stairs at Tallulah falls, swam and slid down the sliding rock at wildcat creek and explored downtown Clayton. We also drove to Asheville and spent the day at the Biltmore Mansion. The cabin is also close to grocery stores and markets . As well as, several good places to eat. We ate lunch at the local Rusty Bike restaurant, which was recommended and it was great. We also found a local distillery near an apple orchard and pick up some real moonshine.

I also want to say that Tonja was great to deal with when making our reservations and got back to me the same day with any questions I had. She also made sure we had an alternate contact since she was going to be out of town. I would definitely recommend this great little cabin on the mountain if you are looking for a place in Clayton.

Great place to get away and unplug for a while

  • 5 of 5

Just like the title says - had a short but sweet birthday weekend here and loved it. We enjoyed the small town vibe of Clayton and also drove down the highway and hiked Tallulah Gorge. Enjoyed sitting on the back porch and watching the day turn to night. We will definitely be back.

nice little cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is in a great location, close to everything. The owner is super easy to work with, no problems there. Each of the 2 bedrooms had its own bathroom-that is a nice plus. The cabin had a really harsh smoke smell, not from cigarettes, from the fireplace. Since it is the end of winter that will probably go away. That may or may not bother people. We liked the mattresses, they were a bit firm-so it depends on what you like. I would take my own pillows though. We did not cook, so I cant comment on kitchen utensils. There was only one towel and one wash cloth per person, so if you are staying for more than a few days either take extra or there is a washing machine (which was super nice to have). The list of local restaurants and shops that the owner provided was awesome. We visited many and were pleasantly surprised. So really my only "bad comments" are .... the cabin needs a good spring cleaning... there were cobwebs on the ceilings, living room fan needed cleaning, light switches were not clean but basic cleaning had been done. Bathrooms were clean, kitchen was clean. My other comment (and this would prevent us from staying here in the future) is the living room furniture is shot and needs to be replaced. It was very uncomfortable and dirty. If you are not planning to stay in the cabin much and plan to sight see most of the time, this is an inexpensive, decent place to stay. If you are coming to relax, lay around and read you may want to pay a little more to stay at a more comfortable place. All in all, we did enjoy our stay. Im rating this a 4. When the furniture is replaced, it will be a perfect place to stay.

Weekend Away

This place was just what we were looking for. Very nice cabin in a great location for everything we like to do. Spent the weekend checking out waterfalls and wineries. It was also right near downtown Clayton. One of our favorite towns. Great owner and smooth booking process.

The cabin was lovely. It was quiet and peaceful, definitely a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of city life. We didn't get a chance to experience the city but will definitely plan on coming back
