Affordable relaxation

If you’re looking to stay on Anguilla but put off by the cost of most places there, then Turtles Nest Resort offers excellent value for money. Our unit was in excellent condition and kept spotless by the daily maid service (except Sundays). We rented a studio but it was capcious and fully equipped with a washer/dryer and full kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven and hob and microwave. The “resort” itself doesn’t have any facilities other than a pool and sun-loungers and shades by the pool and on the beach, bug this is not a problem as it’s in walking distance of neighbouring boutiques and restaurants and Anguilla’s largest supermarket if you want to stretch your budget with a spot of self-catering, although you will be tempted by the nearby restaurants such as Straw Hat, Jacala and Blanchards. The resort staff are gracious, hospitable and very welcoming and are a credit to the island. The only criticism I can think of is not to do with the resort just that Meads Bay beach itself is quite difficult to walk on and the sea deepens quickly off the beach and has quite strong currents. There are no lifeguards so we’d recommend children and weak swimmers to stick to the pool. Meads Bay is gorgeous though and waking up to the sight and sound of the beach was restorative of itself, and facing north-west you can watch the sun set to the horizon. This has been one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve ever been on. Thank you!
