The Hololani Resort is a quiet condominium complex located directly on the ocean in Kahana. This spacious condo of 1,050 square feet all on one level has been fully renovated in Fall 2009. It now offers porcelain ceramic tile floors; granite countertops; solid cherry wooden cabinets complete with accent lighting; stone & travertine showers and tub; premium appliances; three HDTVs; TEAC stereo system; and individual iPod decks in the bedrooms, among other luxuries.

The condominium is decorated with an elegant tropical flair, including new, comfortable furnishings sprinkled with dramatic antique Oriental pieces. The all-new amenities are high-end, as well, with a degree of attention to detail that provides for everything from Henckels cutlery to Farberware cookware to a coffee bean grinder and a salad spinner! Such a great experience!

We were so happy with this place! Two bedrooms, two baths (one with a bathtub for the kids), two lanais with incredible views...it was perfect. Very well kept, upgraded, it had everything we needed, including beach chairs, beach toys, snorkels, and beach towels. No complaints. Regarding heat- we were a little nervous about no a/c, but it was fine. We opened the front door and lanai doors for a very nice cross breeze- the front door has a screened security door so you feel more secure about leaving it open during the day. All rooms have fans overhead, and with the doors open for air, it was perfect. We highly recommend it! Only issue is that the designated parking spot in the covered lot has a continuous drop overhead onto your car- but the property manager and the on-site property manager gave us permission to park elsewhere during our stay. And just an FYI- no beach access. We were fine with this- we did a lot of exploring to the local beaches.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Can't wait to return!

nicely decorated. very clean. fantastic ocean view.

Was warned about the heat and no A/C but took the chance. Very large place to rely on trade winds to cool the place. Would probably not stay here again in the summer with no A/C. Place had one fan that's on it's last leg. First day refrigerator was not working. Had to put all food from Costco on ice which was provided by property management. But had to cancel plans first night as we had to baby sit food. After it was vacuumed out seemed better the next day and finally started making ice. Pull out bed in living room sofa is very uncomfortable. Mattress needs to be replaced.

Great Stay

This is a great place for two couples. The bedrooms are almost identical, both with lani access. One shares the lani with the living area and the other is private. Other than that the rooms are almost the same. The place is very up to date and is right on the ocean. The BBQ's work well and the pool is nice. I liked the location as it was relatively close to slaughterhouse beach, and Honolua Bay in one direction and Lahaina in the other. There is a dedicated underground parking spot for your car so no hunting for a vacancy. Like other have said, there is no AC and when we went in September is was a bit warm, but they have ceiling fans and a stand up fan. That would be my only draw back, but why close all the windows up with that beach feet from the door!

No AC, no beach access, no privacy, broken elevator....

We stayed for 9 days and I wish we had known this place has no AC, no beach access, and no privacy in one bedroom. If we had known that we would not have booked it. Below are the pros and cons of this property:

Cons:

No AC - it was miserable trying to sleep and even with the doors/windows open and fans on, it was never comfortable in the condo day or night. They should at least have a portable AC for the summer months.

No beach /no access - I know the pictures show a beach that must have been at low tide which is for about an hour a day and you can't get to it because there is no beach access from the property.

No Privacy- one of the rooms is off the living room and the slider in the room faces the pool/complex. Because there is no AC you have to keep the slider open which means everyone in the other side of the complex can look right in the room. And since the property never turns off the outdoor lights that shine into the slider, you never have a dark room.

Broken Elevator- for about half of our stay the only elevator in the building was broken. So we had to haul everything up the stairs.

No shade at the pool- there is a pool and lounge chairs but no umbrellas for shade. There Is a tree or two But they shade one chair. Hawaii sun will burn you even when it's not hot so the lack of shade kept us from the pool during the day. The abundance of children at the complex kept us from the pool at night because there was always 15+ kids jammed in the pool.

Pros:

The place was clean and the pictures accurately reflect what the interior looks like.

The pool area and BBQ grills were cleaned every morNing and kept clean.

View is nice and we sat on the patio a lot enjoying it.

Although we will never stay here again and don't recommend it to our friends, I gave it 3 stars because the things that are important to us (AC, beach access, privacy, etc) may not be deal killers to others and the place was clean and nicely furnished. If I could post pictures on here I would.

Absolutely Wonderful!!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and we were a bit nervous about renting a condo through a source we knew little about. We received a package with all sorts of info about our rental unit and and maps of places and things to see and do in Maui. Upon arriving at this unit and opening the front door we were very blessed as we walked in and found it to be even better looking in person. How often does that happen? Incredible views, we woke to a rainbow off the lanai every morning, very cool! Both bedrooms have an ocean view! One bedroom is open right to the main lanai and the other has it's own personal lanai. Which to choose? This is a very unique floorplan when looking for a place on the beach. The tile floor is absolutely beautiful and the granite counters and soft close drawers, quality furniture,etc. This is NOT your Average rental, it is TOP NOTCH! It was spotless when we arrived and included plenty of supplies for kitchen, bath and laundry.

When the doors are opened the tropical tradewinds blowing through are simply heavenly!! And the sounds of the waves breaking whilst you sleep.... well it just doesn't get much better.

It is peaceful and quiet, didn't hear any noise from neighbors and other guests very friendly.

We moved to another rental after our stay here in the same price range also on the beach and there was NO comparison!! We would have moved back but it was already booked.

Can't say enough nice things about this place. Would love to own it myself!!
