Overview

About the property

4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, outdoor shower, king in master, air conditioning

This renovated home (inside and outside) is spotlessly clean and has four wonderful air conditioned bedrooms all with cable flat screen TV's, a large air conditioned sunken living room (everyone in your group must be able to take two steps down into the sunken living room) with a 47' HDTV, DVD player, a chess table, and a very large inventory of movies (DVD and VHS). MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY IS 8 PEOPLE INCLUDING CHILDREN. This house is set up perfectly for extended family or two families to share.

The kitchen has 2 convection ovens, microwave, and is supplied with quality cookware and spices. New refrigerator, dish washer, cook top, and washer & dryer. There is a large deck with a huge Weber gas grill and comfortable furniture, an outside shower, and a lovely garden with a 2-person settee. The property has rights to a small private swimming pond. Flax Pond in Nickerson State Park (great for swimming or fishing) is 15-20 min. walk down a quiet dirt road that can be accessed behind our property. In garage you will find at least 8 beach chairs, 4 beach umbrellas and anchors, 2 beach carts, and many coolers. Our house is close to both bay and ocean side beaches and many excellent restaurants. Tents, smoking, fires, and pets are not permitted on the property. Minimum age for signer of lease is 30 years old. Thank you very much for considering renting our house for your vacation on Cape Cod!

Beaches and other great things to do in Brewster : If you love the beach, you'll love Brewster! Five of the most picturesque beaches on Cape Cod Bay are in Brewster - Crosby Landing, Ellis Landing, Breakwater Beach, Robbins Hill Beach, and Paines Creek Beach. There are also freshwater beaches on Long Pond, Sheeps Pond, Upper Mill Pond, Cliff Pond and Flax Pond. Nature lovers revel in Brewster. A third of the town of Brewster has been reserved for conservation land, open space and recreation. Enjoy Nickerson State Park. Visit the Museum of Natural History, then walk one of the nature trails behind the museum out to the bay. Hike, canoe or picnic in the Punkhorn Parklands. For golfers, there's the public 36-hole Captains Golf Course, and Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club. Plus there are quaint shops, great restaurants, live theater, craft fairs and plenty of fun things for the kids. Fishermen can head out on charter fishing boats in Cape Cod Bay, or one of the stocked freshwater ponds in town: Long Pond, Sheep Pond, Cliff Pond,

Additional outside seating: We recently added a front deck and purchased a wooden 2-person glider, two rocking chairs, and a 2-person Adirondack settee with middle table for the backyard garden.

Note: Our home is located on the edge of Nickerson State Park and our lovely and private backyard is bordered by woods. Homes in this type of location are nearly impossible to keep totally insect free. Please do not be surprised by the occasional sighting of an ant, a spider, or even the ugly wood 'roach'. The latter insect is attracted by house lights like moths and may fly into the house after dusk if outside lights are on and doors near the lights are opened. They are very similar in appearance to but they are not the typical American cockroach. They do not survive or breed indoors. They are just a nuisance, they pose absolutely no health risk and should just be caught and thrown in the trash.

Brewster is a wonderful town!: Our house is located in the back of the upscale Robinwood neighborhood in Brewster, Massachusetts. Our backyard has lovely gardens and is very private. There is a very small pond in our neighborhood just a few minute walk from the house if you enjoy freshwater swimming. A larger pond, Flax Pond, is a quiet 15-20 minute walk from the house (through the woods behind our backyard you can access a dirt road that goes into the back of Nickerson State Park). We are a 5 minute drive to beautiful bayside beaches and ten minute (or less) drive to ocean beaches including Nauset beach. Brewster is a beautiful town with great restaurants, beautiful parks, a bike path, a very well stocked library (everyone is welcome to take out books and movies), live theater, and many fine shops.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Marilyn and Bruce,

What a perfect vacation home this was for us - the air conditioned bedrooms with TV's, the chess table, the Foos ball table, the wonderful kitchen, the comfortable living room and I could go on and on.

The washer and dryer were a great treat as well.

Your gift was a thoughtful treat as well!

We love Brewster as well so all was perfect!!

Thanks for making our vacation so comfortable.

Take care,

Gil, Val, & family

P.S. The chairs, umbrellas, and coolers were awesome for the beach!!

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We love staying in this house. We have stayed there for many years. It is very clean. Good space and location for a family. Kitchen well equipped. You can walk or run to Nickerson State Park for swimming, sailing, and biking. Close to the ocean and bayside beaches. Close to food shopping and good restaurants. Very quiet.

Wonderful, fully-stocked vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a fantastic two-week stay at the House on Holly. The owners were very communicative in advance of our stay and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The house is very clean and well-maintained. It includes a large collection of information about local attractions and dining options. The kitchen is wonderfully well-stocked, as are the upstairs closets, which include all kinds of children's books and board games. Our favorite spot was the front porch with the cozy rocking chairs. A great spot for morning coffee and bird watching. Very peaceful!

We hope to return to the House on Holly again!

Awesome property and renters

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the "House on Holly" last summer from 7/18-7/25. It was our 6th year in the rental. We love the house-it so comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen equipment is high end-better than anything in my own house! We just need to bring clothes, towels, and sheets. Everything else in already in the house.

Marilyn and Bruce are great-so thoughtful and helpful. I'm afraid to ask Marilyn any questions about the house or contents because I know the item will be installed that same day even if I was just making conversation. We like them so much, we visit them in the off season if we are there at the same time.

The location is great, about 1 mile to Crosby Beach. If you walk out the backyard, there is a path leading right into Nickerson State park. We love to hang out by Cliff Pond. And Owl pond is right around the corner. Restaurants and shopping nearby.

Can't wait to return on 7/16/16!!

Fabulous week in the House on Holly!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our week at Cape Cod in the House on Holly. We've been coming to the Cape for many years. and this is the best equipped, most friendly house we've ever rented. Bruce and Marilyn bent over backwards to ensure the comfort of our stay, and offered many suggestions of fun things to do, great places to eat, and ways to relax. We totally enjoyed our visit. On the one rainy day, everyone had a place to sit and read, play games, chat and chill out. Our three grandchildren loved the upstairs rooms and the foosball table - a big hit! Thanks for making this such a wonderful place to stay. We'll be back!

Loved our stay here!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at the "House on Holly"! Our first time renting here; everything was as advertised and more! The beach chairs, umbrellas, and wagons (carts) were great! Our two teenage boys settled right in to the rooms upstairs. TV's in both bedrooms made fighting pretty much non-existent. Loved the DVD's and games. We spent one full morning playing Parcheesi on the deck. So peaceful and comfortable here, house was very clean and very well maintained! We hope to come back again.

Everything You Need

  • 5 of 5

We rented the House on Holly for our family vacation this summer. It was our first visit to the Cape. We do a lot of traveling and I've never stayed in a house as well stocked as this one! There was plenty of room for everyone, including the back deck, which is where we spent most of our time when not out and about. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood and centrally located. Marilyn was easy to work with and makes sure you have everything you need. The house is immaculate and very comfortable.

While there, we went whale watching, spent a day at the beach, took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, shopped in Chatham and spent a day in Provincetown. We did most of our cooking at the house, taking advantage of the grill and outdoor eating area.

I would definitely recommend the House on Holly as a vacation rental.
