House with 2 Bedrooms and a view of Lake Charlevoix

A perfect all year round vacation home. Conveniently located just a short walk or bike ride (approx. 3/4 mile) from Boyne City's Main street shopping and fabulous restaurants. Public access to Lake Charlevoix with a small beach is one block away; a public boat launch is a few hundred feet away; Young State Park is one mile away; and Boyne Mtn. Golf and Ski Resort is seven miles away.

Ranch-styled home sits above the Lake Charlevoix shoreline giving you a relaxing view of a true Michigan treasure. Very spacious and clean with an adjoining door to a second unit for families and friends vacationing together. A large private backyard is perfect for daily play and evening campfires. And, we have yet to see a mosquito!!

A 25' x 25' great room, with a view of Lake Charlevoix, is perfect for a large gathering or families just needing extra room. This room was once a store front for a small business and has unique characteristics with a nautical theme. The master bedroom includes a queen-sized bed and wood-burning fireplace and the second bedroom has a set of built-in bunks. We have an inflatable mattress available for additional guests.

Guests who have enjoyed their stay typically participate in outdoor activities and/or nearby attractions and appreciate a clutter-free home at an affordable price. We do not recommend our home to families with young children who need constant supervision or guests with physical limitations that prevent them from climbing steps.

The south unit, built in the 1940s, is primarily available for vacationers with enough beds for six (6) people and enough floor space for two (2) more. This unit has a maximum occupancy of eight (8) people with a maximum of four (4) adults. The north unit, a later addition, can be rented as an additional unit for larger families or more than one family traveling together however the time available is limited. We do not allow smoking or pets.

About The Owner

Our names are John and Jackie and we live in the Grand Rapids area in Michigan. We enjoy many outdoor activities including downhill skiing, hiking, biking and sailing. We purchased our home on December 26, 2007 just in time to spend New Years Eve at our vacation home.

Why The Owner chose Lake Charlevoix

Boyne City is in the heart of Boyne Country. There are many things to do in the area both inside and out. Many people come back to Boyne City year after year. It is within 20 minutes of the very popular tourist destinations of Petoskey and Charlevoix, yet it is quieter and less crowded. Boyne City is located on Lake Charlevoix, a large lake known for fishing and boating. Boyne City is very convenient for us to enjoy skiing in the winter and water activities in the summer.

What makes this house unique

Our home is within 1 mile of Boyne City Mainstreet and Young State Park and has a wonderful view of Lake Charlevoix. The grocery story is within walking distance. There is also a small public access within a few hundred yards of our home. Everything is close by. Our home is a two-unit home. We use one unit as our vacation home and the other is rented to vacationers. Because we do not have to share the time, there are plenty of dates to choose from when planning your vacation. We periodically rent out our unit when two families would like to vacation together but still want their own space.

Wonderful ski vacation

We had a great weekend ski trip at this rental. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Kitchen was very big and plenty of room for everyone. Unit had everything that you could ask for and more. Kids loved the bunk room. The fireplace was so nice. Close proximity to stores and restaurants in Boyne City and only a 10 minute drive to Boyne Mountain for skiing. Having the attached garage was a plus with all of our ski gear.

Wonder Stay in Boyne City

We stayed at this property for the 4th of July week in 2016, the unit was perfect for our family of 4, the kids loved the bunk beds! Very close to downtown, the lake and grocery store. Plenty of room to park a boat in the driveway. The home was accurate as shown in the description and very clean, we had no issues during our stay. Looking forward to coming back again.

Good group getaway

This property looked like a good fit for my group to enjoy a weekend of cycling in northern Michigan. I appreciate that it was exactly as advertised - what you see online is what you get. Convenient location just outside of town, nice view of the lake, kitchen outfitted with all the necessities. Despite ideal mosquito weather, that claim turned out to be true, too - not a mosquito in sight!

Owner's Response: This vacationer rented both units to accommodate their group. The units have an adjoining door that can be left open or locked. The home is perfect for two families vacationing together. They each have a full-size kitchen and bathroom giving each family their own space yet allowing them to socialize in a spacious setting.

Great family value

My family has stayed at boyne mountain for several years but with growing teens we wanted more space to "hang out." This home is a gem of a find; and is Stocked with board games, a blender for shakes, and cable television. The local family fare grocery is a minute away and has a Starbucks. We ate at a great local Latin American restaurant: I recommend the house margarita and quinoa burritos. And we enjoyed shopping downtown boyne city at the tea shop. My teen boarders enjoyed the challenging terrain parks at boyne highlands. We got the flexible pass off liftopia. We were rained out of a second day of skiing and ventured into petoskey for a movie and shopping. The home was the perfect spot to spend Christmas with our three teens. I Highly recommend this home for any vacation time. The owners were also very accommodating and easy to communicate with via email and phone.

Family reunion

We enjoyed staying at the South Marina because it is close to downtown. The living room is huge for families with children. Beds were comfortable and the shower was good. We could see the lake from the front windows - a real bonus!

We stayed at the South Marina unit the second week of July and were very comfortable. It is clean, well maintained and the neighborhood is very quiet. It's quite spacious for a small family; lots of pleasant details in the furnishings (nautical theme throughout) and nice fresh linens in the bedrooms and bath. The second bedroom is small, and, as noted in the owners' documents, the upper bunk should only be occupied by a child. Having full laundry facilities is a real plus. The listing photos were good representations of how the unit actually appears. The owners were pleasant and professional, easy to deal with.
