Stunning beauty all around. The cottage itself is lovely and the view unbelievable.

Our hostess was kind we enjoyed sharing stories about our sons who share the same name (and personalities it seems). Terry shared produce from her greenhouse and fresh eggs. We made a fantastic breakfast. The cottage is several miles before Hana which worked out great. We were able to go out to Oheo Gulch for a hike. Come back through Hana for lunch (highly recommend Thai Food by Pranee, also called Siri’s I think) and then not have so far to go back to “civilization”. We will definitely be going back. Stayed two nights. Three would have been better.

Owner's Response: You two make me smile. Glad you have friends not far from the cottage and we will look forward to progress updates with our sons. Great to have the two of you at Entabeni and we look forward to your return. Terry

Nahiku Paradise Found!

  • 5 of 5

Staying in Kihei, my sis and I decided on an impromptu trip along the Road To Hana, however we knew doing it all in one day was out of the question for us. Our original destination had been to stay somewhere in Hana. However, there were few places available that allowed for a 1 night stay, so this cottage stood out. We booked it within 2 days of our stay.

We knew nothing about the Nahiku location but we sure do now! This area of the coast line is unlike anything you've ever seen. It IS tropical forest and will be the first area I return to. It's close enough to Hana to get all the extras (aka black sand beach... AMAZING) yet you get to go home to reside in a jungle.

This cottage most certainly enhanced our Road To Hana adventure. The botanical garden setting was total icing on the cake. Our parked car looked buried with plants, flowers and trees.

The cottage was so quaint and perfect. The wall of windows facing the ocean allowed me to view the beautiful pastel hued sunrise without lifting my head off the pillow!

The cottage is at an elevation that feels cooler at night, which was so welcoming.

It is very dark and quiet at night... beautiful, however, no question... bring all the food you'll want and get settled before dark. There are nearby places to grab a coffee or snack, but Hana is 15 minutes out, which is still a lot of effort for groceries through those hair pin curves.

The bed was incredibly comfy, topped with ultra extra padding. I miss it! The pillows were down filled clouds. And being two twins side by side, it was luxuriously huge. A good bed makes all the difference!

The cottage was well equipped with everything you'd need for a short stay, sans your food and drink. We were treated to farm fresh eggs and a few veggies from the garden for our breakfast. So good! The Webber grill cooked our steaks to perfection. The water is great for drinking.

The property has visiting cats, and a sweet family of some kind of chickens you will adore!

For entertainment, there are plenty of CD movies to watch or bring a good book. Or just sit out on the lanai and take your private tropical forest view all in over a glass of ? The nature sounds by day or night are so tranquil.

This stay is not like your average condo. This is a true blue Hawaiian jungle cottage you have all to yourself. Congrats... you've chosen well. And you'll be wishing you had stayed longer.

Owner's Response: WOW! You covered it all. Thank you for taking the time to notice everything that we're trying to share with folks visiting East Maui. So glad you got it! Those odd looking fowl are guinea fowl, birds that we knew when we lived in South Africa many years ago. When we found chicks on Craig's List, right here in Maui, we couldn't resist. Mahalo for finding us and sharing with others, Michael & Terry

Beautiful gardens and view from a very comfortable cottage. Terry was very helpful. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely come back if we are fortunate enough to be able to return to Maui. Thanks for your hospitality. Nancy and Tom

Beautiful setting, great hospitality

  • 5 of 5

Had an amazing stay here. Between the unique location and Terry’s hospitality, it was a standout experience. I’ve often heard the road to Hana is about the journey and not the destination, but we could have stayed forever at this cottage. A great place to unwind after our adventures.

This wonderful cottage with a scenic lanai is part of the Entabeni botanical garden/ farm and looks out over an unobstructed view of the ocean. We spent our afternoons relaxing out back. The cottage is well-appointed and has everything to make your stay memorable including inside and outside showers (we used the outside one every day)! Owners, Terry and Michael were wonderful hosts providing great conversation as well as fresh eggs and hand-picked vegetables/herbs from the farm. Terry gave us a tour of the exceptional grounds (the flower variety was second to none) and Michael welcomed us into his studio for a great chat. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for an intimate getaway!!
