We loved this place in Quedlinburg
We were completely happy with our 3 story house. The steep spiral staircase just added to the adventure of staying in this historic area. The rooms were just lovely and comfortable With thanks to Gabrielle who was very helpful to us getting around.
Charming, comfortable little house in a delightful town
We very much enjoyed our stay in Gabriele's house. She was there to welcome us when we arrived, spoke very good English and was a mine of information. The house was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was only a short walk from places to eat and interesting local sights. It was about 15 minutes' walk to the station where we caught a steam train, regular trains and buses, almost all exactly on time.
The only drawback was the stairs which are very steep and narrow and a little bit shiny. We didn't fall down them but we didn't feel at all confident, especially walking down stairs. We knew about them when we booked but perhaps we underestimated our own agility!
Ideal for exploring Quedlinburg (QLB)
The accommodation is right in the heart of QLB.
Very Good kitchen facilities.
Comfortable and warm throughout.
We used the free bus service on a number of occasions.
Gabriele was friendly and very helpful.
Fairytale house in a fairytale town
We stayed here five nights and could have stayed forever. It didn’t feel like a holiday cottage; it really felt like home.
The house has recently been renovated (as eco-friendly as possible), and it’s uncluttered, comfortable and calm – a really easy place to be.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself, which is handy in Quedlinburg where eating out can be expensive and you can find your holiday costs quickly mounting up.
There’s a practical walk-in shower, great beds, and quality bedding and towels on tap.
Windows flood the upper two floors with light, while also keeping sound out, so that although the cottage stands beside a church, you’re not disturbed by the chiming of bells.
The owner is welcoming, friendly, and on hand to help if you need it. We had a wonderful time here and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Thanks!
Mitten in Quedlinburg...
Located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage town of Quedlinburg, surrounded by well-preserved half-timbered houses. Up close, the Collegiate Church with its famous cathedral treasure, as well as numerous churches. The "Classic Modernism" can be considered in the Lyonel Feininger Gallery. Opposite the house there is the Market Church and behind the town hall with the marketplace, many cafes and a weekly market. On the other hand direction Kornmarkt lies the convention center Palais Salfeldt. Good restaurants are within easy walking distance and the car has a safe place.
