“Pad A Terre is unique on the Paris apartment rental scene”. TRAVEL AGENT MAGAZINE

Of British origin, I founded my company ‘Pad A Terre’ in 1999 as an alternative to 4-5 star Paris hotels for a discerning clientele seeking more space for less yet no compromise on their usual standards of comfort. Our unique offer, consistent commitment to professional business practice standards and service, strict adherence to market regulations ensure us a nice position in the high-end segment of a mass Paris’s vacation rental sector.

I have been working in partnership with Homeaway/VRBO since 2005.

We are a French Registered company (RCS Paris 480 984 533).

All properties covered by the PARIS TOWN HALL VACATION RENTAL LICENCE (a legal requirement in Paris).

About Reservations Department

I am the CEO and Founder of Pad A Terre, a French registered company. We hold a strong position in the smaller high-end segment of a more 'mass' and unregulated Paris vacation rental market. I believe we are unique for the following reasons:

HISTORY

Pad à Terre is a registered French company dedicated to vacation rentals since 1999. We don't do this on the side and offer the standard of accommodation and service you should expect only from a professional business.

PAD A TERRE IS NOT AN AGENCY

We privately own all apartments. This makes us highly streamlined from a cost perspective. We don't rely on commission that you pay.

BOUTIQUE VACATION RENTAL APARTMENTS

Apartments designed by an architect for the vacation rental market. Only in the best areas of town. We offer 4 - 5 star boutique hotel accommodation at a fraction of the price

HOTEL STANDARD HOSPITALITY

We embrace hotel standards of welcoming you as a guest and looking after you. Professional cleaning. Top quality bed and bath linens. You'll be met at your apartment by a trained and professional agent

EXCELLENT SERVICE

Our unique Pad About Town live feed offers you the insider knowledge to totally immerses you in your Paris experience. Everyone offers you a flat to help you 'live like a local'. We take things one step further.

WE ARE AUTHORISED TO RENT

All properties have a Paris town Hall authorisation for vacation rentals. Most in the market do not

Visit us on www.pad-a-terre.com for more information.

When booking accommodation, you should always 'check out' first on Homeaway/VRBO.

We look forward to welcoming you to Paris.

ABNB REVIEW. THANKS JAMES - LOVED THE STAY. ......................................

The apartment is in a great location, really central. We were conveniently met at the property and showed round, James/Grace has also left us some milk, water, juice, and flowers which was a lovely touch and meant there was no rush to the supermarket! Bedrooms were clean and well appointed, beds very comfortable and for such a central location they are very quiet at night as they overlook the courtyard rather than street. The kitchen has ample equipment and you can cook easily. Living room has plenty of space and seating. We loved the apartment and will defiantly stay again!

Perfect 3 bedroom apartment in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in the St Honoré apartment was wonderful. The rental was well organised, check in agent very friendly and the apartment itself as described. We had plenty of room as a family of 7. Our flight arrived early and James organised for us to check-in well ahead of the scheduled time so we could drop off our bags. This made a big difference for us. The bedrooms are quiet and beds very comfortable, bathrooms really good quality. No complaints at all. The area could not have been better. Loads of restaurants, cafés and the Louvre is so close as is the Seine, everything we wanted to visit in fact. We did not use public transport but there's a main line metro stop a block away. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends and family. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Dear Mary, Delighted that you enjoyed your stay in my St Honoré apartment. As I mentioned over the phone you can follow me on social media padabouttown which will keep you abreast of what's going on in Paris. This feeds through to the main site where you can filter the results. I believe it's a pretty unique product and it's free! We hope to welcome you back to Paris on another occasion, Kind regards, James Burgess CEO & Owner Pad A Terre since 1999 Listed on VRBO since 2005

Great apartment in the best neighbourhood

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Paris was everything we expected. Our experience with Jame's company Pad A Terre was flawless from first contact, communication, arrival and check out. The apartment is very comfortable, outstanding bathrooms and the beds, the best I've slept in in a hotel. Old feature likes beams add what to us felt like Parisisan charm. Our first vacation rental we won't look back. The apartment was full for our last night so we checked into a nearby hotel on James' advice and whilst it was ok, rooms were small and it cost us much more. You couldn't be better located here - the Louvre is literally a block away. When we come back to Paris we won't hesitate to use the services of James' company again. Thank your from all 6 of us!

Okay, not great.

  • 2 of 5

The apartment is just okay. There is no where to put things in the bedroom. No table. No bureau. There is no elevator which makes the narrow, winding stairs to 3rd floor difficult.

Owner's Response: Hello Diana, Thank you for your review. All bedrooms have storage space so I did not fully understand your comment on that front. As for tables, the dining room table seats 12 if you extend it. We are clear about there being no lift in this building. Lifts in this area next to the Louvre all as good as non existent. That is the price you pay for being in the historic centre of Paris and furthermore in a 17th century building - they don't lend themselves to lifts and often, being protected building, you are not allowed to put them in. As a registered French company ensure that everything is clear regarding what guests can expect and normally we succeed on that front. All guests do sign rental agreement contracts that specifically details the spec of the property, including the fact there is not a lift. I am unsure as to whether you read this before signing but had a lift been very important to you we could have directed you to another property. Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was a perfect location to all the sites that we wanted to see and fit our needs perfectly! James was extremely helpful with suggesting a car service and with our various requests prior and during! The agent, Zoe, who let us into the apartment did stay until we arrived as we were later than we anticipated and was great in pointing out groceries, restaurant and the general neighborhood for us! We had a wonderful time. Thank you so much James and Zoe!

Great apartment in Great Area

  • 5 of 5

We loved the area and in particular the street that the apartment is located on. The proximity to central Paris as well as the metro is outstanding. We spent 9 nights there and had an amazing time. It is on the third floor but that is mentioned in the description (68 steps total). This could be an issue for some folks as the steps are narrow and steep. Our only hiccup was that the air conditioning unit in one bedroom failed and because it was a weekend took a few days to replace. The owner was responsive however and fortunately the weather cooperated.

Lovely apartment with A/C in top location

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 plus my daughter's friend really had a good time here. The whole rental process was effortless and professional from the check-in to the guidance we got during our stay. We felt in safe hands and were SO grateful for the aircon as it was roasting in Paris!

We walked everywhere and will be back.
