About Hans Strom

We have enjoyed the Park City community for 12 years now and are very excited with all of the changes taking place at the PCMR/Canyons connected ski areas and now Deer Valley joining Interwest this year.

The town is our favorite place to be and our 4 kids love it.

We love the outdoors and think the skiing in Park City is incredible. We enjoy being able to walk to town and appreciate all the activities that Park City has to offer for our entire family. Park City truly is a truly special place.

What makes this townhome unique

Our place is located between Deer Valley Resort and Main Street Park City. Both are 1/4 mile away and within walking distance. The views of the mountain are amazing and we really try to make our home a special place for visitors to stay.

Great Place...Convenient Deer Valley Ski Access

Just stayed in this property for a very special 50th Anniversary trip for my parents. We had 12 people and this place easily accommodated all of us...3 huge Master Bedrooms and 2 bunk areas great for kids. Huge living area with great views and a big kitchen area with a table that all 12 of us could sit at. Big hot tub was a nice extra touch as well.

We skied 4 days at Deer Valley and this is about as convenient as you can get for skiing short of a ski in/ski out scenario right on the slopes. Deer Valley main lodge is about 1/2 mile away and a free shuttle comes right to the door of this place every 15-20 minutes. DV also offers free overnight storage of skis and boots so this is really a very convenient Deer Valley Skiing scenario. We didn't ski Park City, but one of the main Park City gondolas is maybe a mile away, so Park City skiing would be very easy as well.

Very good communication with the owner throughout...highly recommend.

Great Location. Poorly Maintained.

This house was not well maintained! The clothes dryer was not working properly and the owner was aware of it prior to our stay but failed to take remedial action. The heat was not working and while the owner called his "handy man" during our stay, for what we paid it should have been taken care of before we got there. The kitchen is in a state of disrepair with cabinet doors nearly falling off their hinges and the cookware was gross and needs to be replaced. The bedrooms need better lighting and although there are fireplaces, they are for wood not gas so it's like not having a fireplace. The bedroom linens are as cheap as it gets and not comfortable. The location of the house was however, less than 2 minutes from Deer Valley Resort. This house has good bones and could be a spectacular destination bit the owner needs to pay closer attention if he wants my recommendation. Franky, he should be offering us a partial refund for our agrravation. His "handy man" had an employee actually energy the house during the day with the key thay was in the lock box, while we were skiing, and take the key leaving the house unlocked for the entire day while we were gone and leaving us to wonder what happened to the key and who had it. It was a little unnerving to say least.

Owner's Response: This group called me the night they checked in and complained that the dryer was working but not getting really hot. After Howard called me I was on the phone 5 minutes after their call with my handyman who was headed over there when Bruce called me and demanded that I have a new dryer delivered and installed that night. I explained that my handyman would be there that night to figure out the problem and he would fix it asap. It turns out that there was lint in the exhaust vent that my handyman removed and it worked perfectly the next morning. We also had several conversations about the heat in the lower 2 bedrooms and that was fixed with the dryer by noon the next day by my handyman. It is a water heating system and there are 3 water pumps and one of them was burned out so he replaced it. As to comments about any pots and pans being dirty, I stayed there personally 4 days prior to their arrival and inspected everything and it was perfect. Professionals cleaned it after I left. Bruce attempted unsuccessfully to get me to discount their rental and thus he and his roommate both posted negative reviews. I am sincerely sorry for the dryer not working at 100% for 12 hours and the heat was low in 2 bedrooms but I did react immediately and everything was 100% for 95% of their stay. They had 13 men stay at my place. Perhaps they should stay at the Montage or St Regis if that is their level of expectation for sheets and toiletries.

Great location but house needs work

Had a wonderful week in Park City for spring skiing, despite troubles with this property. The heat did not work properly at first. It took two days and several calls to the owner to get it fixed. There were also a lot of other more minor problems with the house: running toilets, broken windows, warped doors that cannot be shut fully, poor lighting, a dryer that did not perform well with a normal load of laundry, kitchen cookware that is poorly maintained and worn, and broken

cabinets, to name a few.

The owner was nice and responsive, but I got the impression the owner knew about many of these problems and was hoping we would just ignore them.

The handy man who fixed the heat and addressed many of the problems reported (e.g. Refrigerator light ) but took the key and left the door unlocked while we were skiing. We came home to an open front door! Needless to say that was disconcerting.

Great place for our large group!!

Nice big place. Great location. Hans was just a phone call away. We only had to call him for one minor issue and it was resolved very quickly. There were 17 of us and the trip was the best! If we come back next year, we will be sure to rent the house again.

Group of friends - great time, perfect house

We were a group of 10 on a ski trip and the house was perfect for us. The living area is spacious with a good amount of seating. We were all able to sit around, relax, and enjoy the fire. The kitchen was well supplied with all the cookware we needed. The huge table in the dining area was a plus for our group meals. Everyone was pleased with beds / bedrooms. Hot tub was absolutely fantastic after a long day of skiing. We had a car so didn't use the bus much - but it is a quick walk.

While the house isn't the most modern it's very clean and everything worked. The main rooms were a little cold but not bad.

Finally, Hans the owner is great. Very responsive and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to a large group or families.
