My husband, Bradley Hays, is a General Contractor and builds custom homes here in Hiawassee and the surrounding areas. I handle the cabin business and assist my Mother, living with us and my Dad in the nursing home here in Hiawassee. In our spare time we like to travel. Bradley likes a good rod run from time to time and I love camping and reading. We both enjoy seeing families, relatives and friends visit the cabin for good times all around! Chocolate Lab Cheyenne is the newest member of our family, daughter, Stacey, her husband Edward and grandson, Tripp, live 3 hours away in Newnan, Ga. We would love for you to stay with us while visiting Hiawassee!
'Our view is a gift, let us share it with you!'
Judy Hays purchased this cabin in 2008
We have lived in the North Georgia mountains for over eighteen years, settling in Hiawassee which is a lush, green haven in the mountains crowned by sparkling teal-green Lake Chatuge. The area we chose for our home is a natural for cabins and since my husband is a General Contractor and builds custom homes, it was a given. A Skyline Ridge Cabin Rental is nestled high on a ridge backed up to and overlooking the Chattahoochee National Forest toward Helen, Ga. We have had a dream of creating a cabin business here since we finished building our own home, just above what is now Skyline Cabin. The view from the cabin is simply put, 'eye candy'! Each season of the year adds its own special beauty which enhances this very special place. We are excited about achieving our dream. We would love to meet YOU! Feel free to call for a tour of the cabin anytime, 706-781-4929. Hope to see you soon~! Our view is a gift...let us share it with you!
Upon opening the bevelled glass front door and viewing the panoramic vista that first meets your eye you will be amazed! God was really showing off when he created these beautiful mountains! Of course, our rustic cabin will enhance your whole 'mountain cabin experience', it has all the amenities of home with the ambiance and feel of the mountains. The cabin, which is encircled by trees and very private, is alive with wildlife yet peaceful and quiet. Although it is 'out in the country' the location lends convenience to town only 5-7 minutes away. The Hiawassee River meanders at the base of the mountain, and, yes, you may fish! There are many things to do and places to see, plus shopping and restaurants nearby. We truly have a grand location! You can experience everything we have to offer, too, just give us a call today!
Homeowner entered comment from the cabin guestbook: March, 2009
We both want to personally thank Mr. & Mrs. Hays for everything they have done to make our stay here just perfect. The cabin was terrific. Everything we needed was here. We will highly recommend this place to everyone.
Mr.& Mrs. Jackie Barnes
Note from homeowner: These were our first newlyweds, they stayed with us on their honeymoon, Mar. 28 thru 30th, 2009
The cabin was adorable and set up with all the necessities we needed. It was decorated for Christmas which made our holiday more enjoyable. The view was spectacular, looking into the valley below. On the day that it snowed the landscape below was a blanket of white and when the wind blew, it looked almost like glitter! The cabin is centrally located and it is easy to get to both Helen and Hiawassee, making daily adventures accessible. We lit a fire every night and enjoyed quiet time and wine to finish our each day. We will definitely return again and look forward to sharing this experience with friends. Thank you Judy for making our stay memorable.
This cabin was absolutely perfect for an ideal getaway from crowded areas. Sitting on the edge of a mountain between Helen and Hiawassee, the view was breathtaking. When you walk in you're immediately take in the view through a wide window that looks over the mountains. The back porch has a grill and several rocking chairs and you can walk to the edge, where it almost drops off. There are two bedrooms - a master on the lower level and a loft-type bedroom with two single beds. That area is huge with its own window. The bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable with thick cotton sheets and heavy quilts. The fireplace was a nice added touch. Though a little wood is provided, you need to buy your own. And what you think you'll use, double it - the wood burns quickly. There is definitely attention to details and your experience. The listing description is completely accurate.
The kitchen has most of the cooking supplies you'll need - coffee pot, crock pot, grilling supplies, pots, pans, plates, eating utensils, etc. Do bring your own food and as others have left things behind (cooking ingredients) it's encouraged you use what's available and to and also leave some of your own behind. That actually got us out of an olive oil pinch when we prepared to grill.
The owner responded quickly to emails and messages during the reservation phase and accurately billed according to the agreement. There were no surprises. Judy is an extremely pleasant person with an eye for detail and customer service. I would recommend her and this cabin my friends (and have) and would definitely stay here again.
The required clean up prior to checking out takes all of 30 minutes (unloading the dishwasher, piling the sheets and towels into a basket - usual clean-up).
Activities: you're close to several hiking trails and Helen, with it's Alpine-themed shopping and architecture. We availed ourselves of the opportunity to hike the paved trail to Anna Ruby Falls, took a drive to see the mountains, and dined at the local restaurants (we avoid chains, and choose to take in local cuisine, of which there are many to choose from at average prices).
Rent. Stay. Enjoy.
We rented this wonderful cabin as quick mountain getaway, and wanted to just stay forever! It has some amazing views of the mountains, and lots of great hiking trails close by. This Cabin was beyond clean and was everything we had hoped for, and more! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful mountain getaway. Judy and Brad were very welcoming. Thank you for sharing your mountain top with us. Can't wait to come back.
From the moment you walk in you know why you chose this cabin. We have rented a few cabins over the years so I can confidently say the view and privacy are unmatched. We did not meet Judy but that can be seen as a good thing because the cabin was perfect. Everything you needed to enjoy your vacation and seasonal decoration were perfect. My wife and i celebrated or anniversary by practicing for retirement. This is our dream location and our dream view. We will be back.
This cabin has a wonderful view of the mountains and is absolutely quiet. If you are looking for a place to relax then this is the place. If you want to sight see and visit the surrounding area, this too is the perfect cabin. It is an easy drive to any of the nearby towns.
Ms. Judy is a pleasure to work with. The cabin was decorated for fall and was stocked with everything we needed upon our arrival. Five Stars!!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this wonderful cabin. The view is absolutely breathtaking. It is a wonderful place to rejuvenate and reconnect. The cabin was just like home and the accommodations were excellent. Thank you Mrs. Judy for providing such as wonderful peace of heaven and being such a wonderful host. We hope to return in the future.....
