Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for making our stay so comfortable and relaxed. The guest house is perfectly appointed and the patio delightful. We really enjoyed our trip to the wineries and Solvang. Santa Barbara's wharf was great for lunch and the Botanical Gardens a nice place to relax and walk. . We'll be telling our friends in L.A. and back in Boston about your guest house.

Thanks Again, Michael and Deirdre

What a gem!

We spent 10 very fine days at this guest cottage. The owners could not be nicer people. The property is located in a peaceful, quiet setting surrounding by a very pleasant garden and very nice, friendly four legged furries (dogs) who love to come for a visit. Our various family members and friends who stopped by to visit were equally impressed by the place. If you drive, plan to go home with orchid plants from the nearby orchid nurseries and make sure to check out the chocolate shop and wine shop side by side at the north end of Carpinteria. Owner Jim also sent us to a well known locals dinner place, the Palms.

A perfect weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Chris and Jim for an amazing stay in your beautiful guest house! Everything was perfect. Your garden is spectacular! Truly a tranquil space, peace and quiet, feels like you are far away but you are so close to everything. And, OMG! The bed was super comfortable, we were out like light bulbs! In fact, we took a snooze right before we left for our trip back home. We love Sammy, so sweet and so very well behaved. Thanks for a perfect Easter weekend and can't wait to come back!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the kind review and for the thoughtful Easter card and chocolates. What a lovely surprise and it was my pleasure to have both of you as guests. Can't wait for you to come again.....Jesus has risen, and you were both a reminder of God's goodness to us. xoxo

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the joy of staying at this lovely guest house in Carpenteria. It was incredibly quiet, comfy and beautiful. Super comfy bed, slept so well. We enjoyed walking around the gardens with all the fruit trees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Chris gave us wonderful recommendations of places to eat and hike. Her doggies are sweet and gentle. It is a short drive or bike ride to town and the beach but far enough from the highway and town to be a true get away. Highly recommend this little slice of heaven.

Loved it! Very Comfortable and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

If you like peace and quiet with easy access to Santa Barbara activities, this is a great place to go. The hosts were very helpful and response time to our inquiries was within a couple of hours. Very well equipped rental for our needs. Stayed four very comfortable nights one week and scheduled again for another 5 nights two weeks later. Unfortunately, our plans changed at the last minute and our hosts were gracious in working out a solution. Would definitely book this property again in the future and highly recommend it. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant and peaceful.

Ditto to all positive comments here in these reviews. Incredible!!! Because the view from EVERY window is only trees, manicured hedges and flowers, we could leave all of the curtains and drapes open to let in the light and fresh breezes. Yet we had complete privacy. Ahhhhhh! Heavenly! What a perfect peaceful hideaway. We also fell in love with the little town of Carpinteria. Thank you!!
