We are a laid back, old keys style place for couples and family-orientated getaways. A place where you can leave the rest of the world behind. We do not entertain the spring break crowd. Our cottages and facilities are not for everyone. If you need room service, constant attention /supervision, or are afraid of nature, bugs, large, friendly birds, squirrels, or ducks, we would suggest the Hilton or Marriott up the road where you can still enjoy the Keys from a hotel room atmosphere.

Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages is renowned in the United States, Canada, and Europe. It is a quiet little rustic place that offers a relaxing, memorable, and unforgettably fun adventure.

From our place, you can:

• kayak or row to 2 local waterfront restaurants.

• kayak or row to an island called Pelican Key with mangroves and lots of birds at sunset.

• kayak or row the Key Largo coastline.

• sail in to the Florida Everglades National Park and enjoy nature at its best.

• sail the other way to world famous Key Largo restaurants and clubs to explore the local wild life.

• sail about 5 miles out to a secluded island (Nest Key) in the everglades with a sandy beach, hiking trails, and where many guest have enjoyed a mud bath.

•sail about 2 miles to reach the mangrove jungle;a very nice sailing /kayaking combo adventure.

•snorkel around the mangroves, sunken boats, and our docks, which are full of life.

About The Owner

Paul Keever is an entrepreneur who decided to move from Long Beach, California to the tropical waters of the Florida Keys.

Here he started a vacation rental business while raising his 2 kids who were then 4 and 5 years old.

He loves all kinds of water activities and adventures specially sailing. Once or twice a week, Paul takes out all of the guests for a sunset cruise on his 40' sailboat around Florida Bay.

Paul is still single and currently looking for a lifetime partner!

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1999

Why The Owner chose Key Largo

Paul chose this property because the water is warm and clear, and he thought he was about to retire. He initially purchased a bayside house with 2 extra cottages and 2 sailboats. But as his rental business grew, Paul purchased the surrounding properties as well.

Virtual tours of cottages and grounds:

What makes this cottage unique

This is an all inclusive place where you have tons of activities that you can enjoy without leaving the property.

Rent one of our cottages and get to use our sailboats, kayaks, paddle boards, water toys, bicycles, snorkel gear, fishing gear for free. We also take out our guests once or twice a week for an amazing sunset cruise around Florida Bay on our 40' Catamaran at no extra cost!

As Paul states, 'staying here is like staying at Club Med without the food'.

Great toys, great staff, needs a facelift

  • 3 of 5

The first impression driving into the resort wasn't good. There were 3 apartment-style garbage dumpsters at the start of the drive, a large run down motor home along the side of the drive, and just other stuff lying about. Also, our cottage was outdated. Despite the negative first impression, we agreed to make the most of it. We quickly found the staff to be awesome - very friendly and helpful. The resort includes use of sail boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and fishing gear at no additional charge, and there was never a shortage of stuff that we wanted to use. The place has a relaxed atmosphere, which is exactly what I wanted, and this seemed appreciated by each of the other guests that I spoke with. We enjoyed ending our days quietly fishing off the dock and taking in awesome sunsets. When our week ended we were disappointed to leave because we had a great time.

A little treasure on the bay

  • 5 of 5

When we pulled up, we were initially unsure of what we had gotten ourselves into but soon realized that our first impression was so very wrong. We were immediately greeted by staff and given a tour. The owner himself came and met us and checked in on us throughout our stay. This is definitely not a resort but it is homey and provides everything you need. We loved using the kayaks, paddle boards and even the catamaran! Paul was wonderful and Irene helped organize everything before our arrival. We would definitely stay here again if we make it back to the keys!

The water/sailing amenities and people were great! However, the bed in the cottage left something to be desired.

Good location, great atmosphere, and Paul the owner is willing and able to facilitate almost anythin

  • 5 of 5

The Key Lime Sailing Club is a pearl in the ocean of Keys rentals. We appreciated all the boats and toys/gear that were included with the booking. Suggestions and advice are always available from any of the folks that work to make your stay a one of a kind experience. I stayed with 3 friends on this trip and we have all talked about returning with our families or significant others.

Not for everyone, but we loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This place may not be for everyone, it is laid back, friendly, and outgoing. Its the kind of place we feel very comfortable in. We loved the fact that it comes with a sailboat and the volunteers were all very willing to help in any way we could want them too. There are a group of "free spirits" around the place, all seem willing to help make your stay a better experience. We came home after 6 days fully relaxed and in great spirits!

So glad we stayed!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay and your hospitality. Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable, including John from Michigan who took us out in his sailboat one afternoon. That was definitely our treasure of the week, spending time visiting with him while sailing. Diamond in the rough, so glad we stayed! Definitely would book here again if the Keys were our destination.
