Nancy and John, Where do we begin - Our family LOVED staying here! We had a sing-a-long by the camp fire. We put on a family talent show in the living room. The beds and linens were all a treat for weary relatives. We played games on the enclosed porch and the braver ones swam in the lake. Three floors with living rooms was a nice thing we have seldom seen. We all look forward to staying here again.
We had a nice stay at this Powers Lake property in February. Everything worked, and the place is big, and obviously old and looks like there were several updates a while ago. That said, we feel like we paid a premium for the somewhat declining condition of the place. Several of the beds were so uncomfortable our guests slept on couches. The oven had obviously not been cleaned for a while. Tiles were missing in the backsplash over the stove top. A drapery rod was missing in the living room. The was a broken pier section laying next to one of the garages (it was winter - we would not have used the pier - it just looked bad). There were painting and other home repair supplies by the washer and dryer. Just not quite right for what could have been a premium property.
The exterior setting is very nice with great views of the lake, but it was Winter so we stayed inside. It probably would have a much different and feel in the summer - but still would be better with a little TLC.
the home was wonderful with plenty of room for our family of 15l it was well maintained and comfortable. we love it! would go back in a minute
Amazing property for a quiet , relaxing weekend with a group of 10 to 20. Home is beautifully maintained with outdoor fire pit, inside has great charm with a huge family room and wood burning fireplace, great kitchen overlooking the lake, basement is great for additional games, like pool and cards and the upstairs is amazing for watching movies in a cozy setting.. Been coming here for 5 years and not planning on changing from this as our vacation retreat. Property owner is one of the BEST as well ! You wont be disappointed
We rented The Point for our Women's Retreat and it was absolutely perfect. The fireplace was amazing, the kitchen was wonderful and well stocked with everything (pots, pans, cookies sheets, utensils, etc.) that I needed to cook all weekend, the porch is truly incredible and although it was so cold outside, we explored the grounds and they are BEAUTIFUL! I would definitely stay again! The owners were also wonderfully accommodating :)
I will say, although it says it sleeps 22, I am so glad we did not have that many for our retreat because the double beds are too small for strangers to be rooming. Although for family it would be fine.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
What a beautiful house and property! Everything was perfect for our large group. Well stocked kitchen and everything worked nicely. The views are spectacular and the house is well kept. Our only complaint was we wanted more time there so we could enjoy all it had to offer.
This house worked perfect for our small staff retreat! We would definitely recommend!
