Pros: the apartment is in an ideal location right off Rue Bretagne. The bathroom is large with a nice tub and shower, and the kitchen area is well equipped and pleasant given its compact size. There's an open urban view, the bed is comfortable, and it's not noisy. Though small, the apartment is well laid out and the photos on the website are quite accurate. The manager was quick to respond to our request for some household supplies. The library of Paris books is great.
Cons: the entry and stairwell are grim. During our week stay, the floor of the entry vestibule wasn't cleaned and the staircase is in serious need of a coat of paint. This is not the host's fault, but something to take up with the building manager. Also, we didn't mind the 4 floor walk up but its a circular and uneven staircase requiring some focus, which may be a factor for some visitors. The bed is a comfy king size bed but doesn't allow much room to get around it,.
Thank you for submitting your review. I'm sorry you found the stairwell and entry grim however it has now been totally renovated and sparkles. In Paris during the holiday periods things can lack attention as everyone is away and that's life in France. Once the return occurs people assume their normal cleaning and maintenance routines. We're happy to know that you otherwise enjoyed our apartment.
Perfect, cozy home in the Marais--We miss it already!
Utterly charming, very comfortable, perfectly appointed apartment in the Marais. Quiet, thoughtfully supplied with everything you want and nothing you don't. Communications with owner Linda and on-site host David were flawless. The only downside is that it is so very comfortable that you may have to be reminded to explore the world of the Marais that awaits at your doorstep. We will return!
LOVED this apartment!
What a great experience! From Linda's thorough e-mail communications upon booking to David's warm greeting upon our arrival, it was a breeze! The comfortable apartment itself was just perfect with the amenities that were just right for us. The location was fantastic! We are walkers, so we chose to walk to most places throughout the city, but the nearby Metro option is there. Our first trip to Paris couldn't have been better, and we would absolutely stay in this apartment again if we come back to Paris!
Thank you Valerie for your review. Very happy to know you enjoyed staying at our Paris home, our neighborhood and of course exploring Paris. We hope to see you back again soon! Many thanks.
Warmth and charm in an un unbeatable location
This apartment packs a lot of comfort into a small space. The decor is lovely and we had everything we wanted: king-sized bed in a separate room, tub and shower, microwave and oven, good WiFi— the list goes on. Communication with the owner was great and the welcome was excellent. The neighborhood is full of life, with gustatory temptations at every step. Climbing the stairs to the third floor helps assuage the guilt. For us, this was the perfect place to stay to enjoy Paris.
Thank you Judy for sharing with others your experience at Le Pinot Noir and our neighborhood. We're happy you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll return in the near future.
Wonderful Paris apartment and location
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Le Pinot Noir. The 3rd arrondissement location right on the corner of rue de Bretagne is tremendous, with access to restaurants/shops/boulangeries, etc. in the marais and beyond. Easy access to metro. The apartment itself is very comfortable, well appointed with a modern kitchen and amenities but a classic Parisian feel overall, including the nicely preserved wood ceiling beams. Bathroom is huge by Paris standards and the standup shower is a pleasure. Large, comfortable bed in master BR with pullout couch also available. View to the street is nice, but the apartment is very quiet - we slept well. Owner Linda was highly responsive throughout. We look forward to returning in the future.
Thank you Geoff for your review. We're always happy to know our guests enjoyed Le Pinot Noir and made themselves right at home. We look forward to hosting you in the near future.
I have stayed in several HomeAways in Paris and this is by far my favorite. The Marais is a wonderful neighborhood and accessible to most anything in Paris.
The view from the apartment was of the street corner, without a lot of street noise.
The bathroom was larger than most with plenty of room for sundry items, etc.
The washer/Dryer was a plus. Access was easy and although it is 3 floors up, it's worth every step.
The attention to detail was amazing. I will try to book this apartment every time I go to Paris!!!!
Thank you for your review of Le Pinot Noir, I'm happy to know you enjoyed your stay and our lovely neighborhood. Please let me know when you'll be returning to Paris, we love to welcome repeat guests.
The Marais provides the perfect Parisian experience for those who wish to enjoy life as the locals do in the village like 3rd arrondisement. Steps away from the wonderful, historic open air Marche des Enfants Rouges, one of the oldest markets in Paris, Rue Bretagne with all the finest wine, cheese, bakeries and more. The immediate neighborhood is full of designer clothing boutiques, antique shops and art galleries along with sidewalk cafes and outstanding restaurants. The Picasso Museum is just down the street as is Place des Vosges, Hotel de Ville, the Pompidou Center and of course numerous museums of the Marais as are small secret gardens. Easy access to Metro Files du Calvaire, Republique or bus lines 96,20,75,65,56,29. Other Activities: Shopping, Art Galleries
