Beach House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)
Anchor Lodge located on the Southwest cape of Alligator Point, was built in the 1950's to escape from South Georgia to the soothing Gulf breezes. Currently, the fourth-generation of the owners are enjoying family reunions to the Point. The 3 bedroom house is on one level which is ideal for retirees, and children. Oak trees line the yard while the terrace with 50% shade allows for some great 'therapeutic' time to relax. There are no hotels, bars, and other tourist attractions to disturb you. It's kind of like being in the country at the beach!
Anchor Lodge has 3 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen & 1 Full) with sleeping room in the living room on 2 futons and 1 convertible bed.
There are 2 full bathrooms, one with a shower/tub the other with standing shower. However, most of our guests prefer to bathe in the outdoor shower on the back deck, especially after a long day on the beach.
The stocked kitchen offers a variety of cooking supplies to create a culinary masterpiece. A large dining table that seats eight comfortably and a breakfast bar with room for three, offer seating for larger parties.
There is also a washer and dryer in the pump house on the back deck that also holds a variety of beach chairs and toys.
The beach side patio is a favorite for lounging in 50% shade, taking a afternoon cat nap in the hammock, or watching a beautiful Gulf sunset. Stairs from the patio lead to a private walk to the beach. They are easy to access and allow for quick dips in the ocean, especially at low tide when the sand bar is out. After dark sea turtle safe patio lights allow for a continued outdoor experience, but we suggest taking some time in the dark to count shooting stars!
Alligator Point is on of the few dog friendly beaches on the Gulf Coast allowing for your K-9 friend to enjoy all the beach has to offer. Please observe local leash laws with all pets. Pets are allowed with a deposit.

About Lisa Oliver
My name is Lewis Oliver, my parents built Anchor Lodge in 1955 as a summer home to escape from the South Georgia heat. I grew up spending many summer days at Alligator Point with my family. Now my own children and grandchildren have gotten the chance to experience Alligator Point as well.
Lisa Oliver purchased this House in 1955
Why Lisa Oliver chose Alligator Point
My parents chose Alligator Point because it was a very small private beach located close to our home.
What makes this House unique
The small, family oriented beach allows for a beach experience that is unique and will last a lifetime.

Immediately felt like home. A home in paradise.
Our family had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at the Anchor Lodge.
Lots of memories
Since our stay was right at the start of school, we virtually had the entire beach to ourselves. The house was plenty spacious for 5 adults and 3 children. Right on the beach with all the toys and amenities needed. Will book again soon.
Let the Wild Rompous Begin
My family and I had an amazing two week stay at Anchor Lodge. It truly is Florida's Forgotten Coast. My children, 7 and 2, were able to romp on the beach the entire stay without bathing suits, a true treat for parents, such freedom. We also were able to swim amongst dolphins coming within almost an arms reach many times. We had the pleasure of seeing a manatee one afternoon and enjoyed sunrises and sunsets on the beach and in the hammock. The house was built by family who enjoyed and created years of memories, which was felt and experienced by ours. The outdoor shower was enjoyed and perfect for washing off layers of fun in the sand. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable giving us the well needed rest for the following day's activities. We went to Wakulla Springs, a short drive away and encourage all who visit to go. All in all, it was a wonderful time, just what we needed. One note, grocery shopping must be planned as the local ones are sparse on produce, so plan a trip to Publix. I wish we had one where we live.
Paradise - for all those who look for a cosy, quite place to relax and enjoy nature
For us the best house on Alligator point! We were looking for a beachfront house in an area where we could explore the old Florida with its nature. We are a family of 4, the kids being 10 &9 yrs and we all liked it so much, that we extended our stay.
The house is very close to the beach: the sea can be seen and heard from the house and is easily accessible over a wooden deck. The Lounge with the hammock is a great place to observe dolphins and enjoy a sun-downer. The house itself is clean, well equipped and functional. The owner (Lisa) was very helpful e.g. to point out special events in the area which we would have missed otherwise. We felt privileged to be able to stay in this house with a lot of Family tradition. It could well be that our family tradition on Alligator point just has started...
Cozy, quiet house with the beach as your backyard!!
Beautiful location with everything we needed for a week away at the beach. The house is super cute and feels like home. So nice that our boys could just run out to the beach when they were ready too! It's like having the ocean for a backyard instead of a cornfield!! We saw dolphins almost every day and got lots of beautiful shells. We would definitely come back again.
We loved the house, it was everything we were hoping for! The beach was great, and having the boardwalk from the house to the beach was perfect with younger kids. We loved the open living area, it was big enough to let both of our kids have their own space as well as the adults. The kitchen had everything we needed, which was wonderful. The bedrooms were nice, had comfortable beds. Bathrooms also worked well with 2 young kids. Great location on the beach, loved being able to lounge in the hammock at night too. Can't wait to go back next year!
Alligator Point is a very secluded beach that offers a very close experience to nature. Chartered fishing options are available at the Alligator Point Yacht Basin and the Rocklanding Marina in Panacea. A short drive to Apalachicola offers great antique shops and shopping. Amazing golfing is offered less than 20 miles away at St. James Bay Golf Course.
