About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Classic Stinson Beach cottage. Get away from it all in this adorable dream cottage only steps from the beach. Walk at sunset...collect shells... or simply lounge in the deck chairs with views of local mountains and hang gliders on weekends! Beautifully landscaped yard with large level lot that is enclosed and private. 2 bedrooms; 1 bath; open beamed ceilings with skylights. Ping pong table on the rear enclosed deck. Ideal for

families with small children as they do not need to cross any major streets (just walk down the Cul-de-Sac to beach path). A boogie boards are provided by the owner for tenants use. Outside shower (hot and cold water) warm you and washing

off sand from the beach. Great hiking trails (Dipsea, Matt Davis, Willow Camp, Steep Ravine). Approx. 2 miles to Audobon Canyon Ranch. 8 mies from the southern end of Pt. Reyes National Seashore. August 1, 2012 we have updated our living room couch and chairs AND added a beautiful flagstone deck with patio set and bar-be-que!

We have enjoyed the Stinson Beach family experience for 30 years in raising our children and now grandchildren. We purchased our cottage 12 years ago. We now want to share that experience with others.

Easy walk to town with restaurants, general store, surf rental shop, kayak rental shop, video store, and ice cream. Very close to many hiking trails that take you to redwood groves and lovely creeks. Sandy beach is about 3 miles long and is only a few steps from your front yard. Additional outdoor shower has hot water.

During the summer months we give preference to customers who will rent from 4-7 nights. On July 1, if we have not met that guideline, we will open rentals to 2 nights if there is space available.

In the past three (5) years we have had VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMERS from England, Germany, Italy, and Austria. We are happy to answer any of your questions by telephone. (Rodger: 415-945-7255)

Beach town for the locals or those looking for down time

  • 3 of 5

Stinson beach is beautiful and clearly has been a popular place for a long time. There is quite a mix of new and older homes. This cottage was quaint, beachy and has lots of natural light. We could tell it had been the site of lots of family fun. Plenty of space for the 3 of us. It did have its quirks and some items--like the ping pong paddles and games-could use an upgrade. Not appropriate for a family with kids under 4 or the very curious as there were many family books and treasures about. Only a few restaurants nearby but they were good. Enjoyed the local bookstore but get your groceries before you come. Point Reyes Station had a great market. Very twisty commute to Muir Woods.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. We have replaced the old ping pong paddles and will look into upgrading family games, but will keep monopoly, clue, etc. as many families enjoy these classic games.

Nice location, short walk to the beach and to the middle of Town. Small but perfect for the four of us. Cottage has all the necessities.

Nice, private little cottage. Just what we were looking for!

  • 4 of 5

Had a nice stay here for a girls get-away weekend and enjoyed it very much. It was clean, private and well stocked. It had everything we needed. Beds were very comfy. We especially enjoyed our time relaxing in the private courtyard and the beach is truly just steps away. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful way to see San Francisco

  • 5 of 5

Brother and myself took our mom to visit beautiful san francisco. Found this very cute beach house on vrbo and could not have asked for a better place to call home for a few days. Lcoated a short drive from downtown San Francisco. Get away from the rush and breath in the fresh ocean air. The home is very clean and very cozy. All house item available for cooking meals and lots of seating for family. A stone their away to the quite beach.

Absolutely loved this home and really enjoyed the owners as they made the experience very easy.

I love Stinson Beach and this charming cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My adult daughter and I stayed here for two nights to explore the coast before heading into the hills of wine country. This place really felt like home. The beds were quite comfy, and the kitchen was great! I am a chef, so know my way around a kitchen. LOL! However, other than breakfast, we really didn't cook because that was why I was on vacation - to let someone else cook for me. The little town of Stinson Beach is quite small, and has a tiny grocery store, but we were surprised at the quality way it was stocked! It seriously looked about the size of a gas station convenience store, but was so wonderful. Guacamole and salsa were stellar as were organic cheeses and produce! The cottage is a very short walk down a cute little path to the beach, and of course close to town. We had such an incredible dinner at the Parkside Cafe, we went back for breakfast! It was also fantastic. As we explored the coast, we stopped at a place right on the highway just north of Stinson Beach, called Tony's. Oysters Bingo might be the best oyster dish I have ever had in my life. It was their version of Oysters Rockefeller and simply delicious. Their shrimp and crab ceviche was unique in presentation and also yummy. Crab was in season, so one day we ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect for someone who doesn't wish to stay right in San Francisco, but wants to explore Muir Woods, and the charming coastal towns like Bolinas.

Great wkd retreat

  • 4 of 5

Lived up to its description. Our family selected this place as we had a number of kid games in the nearby area. The proximity to the beach allowed us to take great walks as well as enjoy the sunset. We had some rain so the games, puzzles and dvd’s allowed our kids to relax when they couldn’t go outside. Excellent communication and had no problems. I would come back again.
