Spanish Colonial near Town: now available long term from April 1 - Dec. 31, 2017

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 30 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Great outdoor space, pets welcome (Sleeps 4)

We are interested in medium and longer term rentals. We also will entertain an exchange with your home.

Our recently remodeled and centrally located Spanish colonial house is in the tree-lined residential neighborhood of San Roque, walking distance to town. We are 10 minutes by car from the beach and all the shops, restaurants, museums and historic buildings of Santa Barbara. We are also 10 minutes from the Mission and the beautiful rose garden. You can walk or bike there easily.

Our cozy house has front and side patios and a French-influenced gravel patio in the back. The house has hardwood floors though out and a custom plank floor in the kitchen. The bright living room in the front has a super-comfortable sofa and lots of paintings. The full dining room is off the kitchen and has its own side patio, perfect for a sunny breakfast. The large kitchen has been designed to accommodate my husband who has a food business and is a major cook. There is a comfortable seating area in the kitchen for having a glass of wine with the chef while he/she/they cook. The den, with TV and built in bookshelves doubles as an office.

The master suite includes an extra large soaking tub and shower in the bathroom. The master bedroom, with double bed, is a soothing sage green and overlooks the back French gravel patio. We also offer a guest room, with 2 twin beds and its own bath with shower and tub. The entire house is comfortably furnished and features many antiques and appointments from our years of living in Europe and Asia.

Rent is for 2 people, please enquire regarding a larger party. The house is pet friendly, and an additional deposit is required for a pet.

Extraordinary Santa Barbara Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful time staying in this "magical" house. It is well appointed with many karmic surprises. The thoughtfulness involved was very apparent throughout the house. At every turn, we discovered another artifact from the owners' travels, a piece of art, or a family memento memento deftly displayed. The yard invited peaceful relaxation and offered spaces to cook and converse while relaxing.

Everything from interesting bars and restaurants, liquor and groceries was available at no more than a one to two block walk.

We almost don't want to give away ALL the good points about this house lest it become so popular we won't be able to get on the calendar again.

Thank you Mark and Molly for sharing your beautiful home.10 stars plus!!

A Delightful Experience

  • 5 of 5

I have been renting for many years in California with my two doggies, and yet have never encountered such a delightful home or owners as the Kelloggs. Their warm greeting on my arrival was an unexpected touch, as was the homemade plum jam and bottle of wine offered as welcoming gifts. These are hosts that truly care about the comfort of their guests. Their home reflects their many interests, from food to travel to interior design, with a gourmet kitchen and furnishings from their time spent in Italy and the FarEast. And yet it’s a home that says settle in, make yourself at ease. Several courtyards off the home are perfect for reading or enjoying a morning cup of coffee, and I took full advantage of them all. Pet owners can rest assured their pets are secure within the gated courtyard. The location couldn’t be more convenient, just off the main thoroughfare, State Street, with easy access to downtown shopping, beaches, or the many neighborhood restaurants and gourmet groceries. If you are looking for an exceptional Santa Barbara experience, this is the home for you. I know I want to return over and over again. Thank you so much, Molly and Mark!

Lovely and comfortable home in a good location

  • 4 of 5

We loved the size of the house, the barbecue and backyard, the wifi and the kitchen. The house was clean and the location is great.

It's not particularly kid-friendly because there are many beautiful items from around the world in the house and we were constantly worried that our kids were going to brake things, so if your kids are mature or you can control them well, no problem.

The owners are very cool and very friendly.

Owner's Response: We loved these tenants and they left the house in perfect order; for any others who have small children and might be concerned, let us know, and we will put anything of concern in storage. We want everyone to enjoy the house in comfort. Molly and Mark
