Relaxing and Peaceful
The cottage is in the most beautiful and peaceful location. We sat on the lovely patio and looked at the sea every morning and evening. The kids loved running around in the huge garden and looking for rocks at the stoney beach. We loved the big beach that was 1 minutes walk down the road - a huge sandy beach great for swimming and rock pooling. We also tried our luck at fishing off the rocks for Mackerel with some of the locals. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need for the week. The beds were comfy, the kitchen well kitted out and the fireplace made it cosy in the evenings. It's just a ten minute car ride into Skibbereen where you can pick up supplies and have a lovely meal out. There is no wifi or really any internet reception at all at the cottage but to be honest we found this to be a welcome break and relaxed all the better because of it! I highly recommend this cottage and this lovely area in West Cork to anyone looking for a place to truly relax.
Lovely location and charming property
Very nice cottage, with everything needed for a good holiday. Great views.
Very nice Cottage overlooking the craggy cove and close to Skibbereen. We missed having Wi-Fi.
You get a sense of the wild and harsh when staying on the cold craggy shoreline.
Idyllisch, ruhig, wohnlich, toll
The cottage is located in the southwest of Ireland äüßersten, directly on a beautiful scenic coastal strip between Baltimore and Castle Townshend, the nearest major town is Skibbereen (6km). The area around the house invites to beautiful settings and walks, there are beautiful sandy beaches in the immediate and nearby. The environment is ideal for water sports such. B. Sailing or snorkeling, and fishing, horse riding and golfing. Some typical Irish Gardens are within easy driving distance, the nature reserve Lough Hyne with its exceptional marine and freshwater Flora is only minutes away. Day trips are worthwhile to Baltimore, as a starting point for scheduled ferries to the nearby islands of Sherkin Iceland and Cape Clear to villages such as Castle Townshend, Union Hall and Glendore, to Bantry, Clonakilty, Glengarriff with the subtropical seemingly Garinish Iceland and the Healy Pass. From Castletownshend or Baltimore consist opportunities for whale watching in the open sea, observing dolphins, seals and sometimes turtles from the tropics, which come with the Gulf Stream to the coast, is included. Even trips to the Fastnet Rock are possible.
Be remembered you also tours cliffs of Mizen Head, Beara Peninsula and to the after Sheep's Head, or spend a day in Kinsale or Cork, the second largest city in Ireland. Even the Ring of Kerry is easily accessible, but certainly to create with difficulty completely in a single day.
Whatever you undertake, you are in a typical for the South West of Ireland vegetation on the road, which, by the Gulf Stream favored, almost subtropical character.
Good and typical for the country you can eat right on the harbor in Baltimore, in Castletownshend in 'Mary Anne's', in Schull (cute town with a harbor on the way to Mizen Head), and of course in Kinsale, the gourmet capital of Ireland.
