Deep in the heart of Elk State Forest in Benezette, Pennsylvania, is the beautiful Elk Terrace Lodge. Located at the end of a private gated road. It lies within the East Coast’s only free roaming elk herd. Elk Terrace Lodge is for the visitor looking for the perfect home away from home. You will awaken each morning to the tranquil surroundings of Elk County from every room. Elk Terrace Lodge is a comfortable two story retreat in the great outdoors. On the first floor you will find a full bath and two bedrooms; one room offering two twin beds and the other offering a Queen size bed. There is also a living room with a gas fireplace and a large kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave, an additional living space with a fold out couch for additional sleeping, and washer and dryer.
The loft, which overlooks the living room, contains a king-sized bed, fold out couch, private bath, dressing room, walk in closet and two balconies. The lodge sleeps six adults comfortably in its three large bedrooms, but with a little less privacy in the loft and the additional living area, it can accommodate ten.

The cabin was very spacious and had incredible mountain views in every direction. Loved the tranquil setting and privacy while relaxing in the outdoor hot tub and then going inside to feel the warmth of the gas fireplace. If I were to build a cabin, I would duplicate this one. It has a very nice layout inside and all the amenities you need for any time of the year.
There is just no better place we could imagine spending our vacation. It has all the luxuries of home with a true mountain getaway feel. My fiancé and I joke that when we are there it feels like our own cabin, not a place we rent. Everything you could need or want is available; beautiful views, wildlife in your yard, privacy, you name it. From the large covered porch, to the comfy sectional in front of the fireplace, you can feel all your stress and worries disappear. There is just nothing like it. I am a city girl and my fiancé is a country boy and we both find it equally amazing. So it truly is perfect for everyone who needs a relaxing, comfortable getaway. The only problem we have is that we fight over the foot rest for the glider rockers on the porch! (They are the best.) Two chairs, one foot rest, it's a race to the porch every morning!
If you are looking at place after place to find the right one, you can stop looking...this is the one!
We stayed at Elk Terrace for Thanksgiving as a meeting point for family from VA and NY. The lodging was very clean and had up-to-date furniture. It was so quiet there that at one point when we were outside the only thing we could hear was the humming of the electric box in the driveway. If you don't see any wildlife at the lodge, definitely drive out to the elk observation point before dusk. We saw three herds bugling to each other. Great experience. Judith was extremely helpful and quick to respond to all of our questions. Would definitely go back. The only downside was the water softener made the water taste a little off so if you have a sensitive palate, bring bottled water.
Great accommodations...clean...nice fire pit & pavilion...great location for everything...owners are very professional and quick to respond to any concerns/questions...look forward to our stay here every yr.
This was our second time back to Elk Terrace and we enjoyed every second!!! The lodging is comfortable, stylish, and clean! Nature is the theme throughout!
We woke up Sat. Am and a elk cow and huge bull were quietly eating in the lawn. Bugling all weekend was nonstop! The large field at the side of the lodge gave us a spectacular view of a bull herding in 4 cows, and he even came running out of the woods with a limb dangling off his huge antlers.
This will not be the last time there and look forward to future trips to Elk Terrace outside of Benzette.
We had a wonderful stay at Elk Terrace Lodge! I can't say enough about this private and serene property. It was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and the surrounding yard and property were stunning. We had elk in the yard every morning, and in the field at the end of the property each evening. We saw wild turkey, several pileated woodpeckers, and porcupine--all within the yard! Took day trips to Kinzua Bridge and Sinnemahoning State Parks. Drove the elk scenic loop and visited the visitor center which is just down the road, and very worthwhile. But with all this said, we could have just stayed at the Lodge, and soaked in the hot tub the whole time and had just as good a time! Judi was great to deal with and made the whole rental process a breeze. The property is just as described, and very private and secluded, in a beautiful setting. We plan on coming back again, maybe this time in the fall. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a truly special getaway.
Our lodge amenities include central air, satellite television, heated hot tub, gas grill, enclosed fire hearth, and a pavilion, as well as a large kitchen with cooking utensils available.
