About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Come enjoy the best that Humboldt County has to offer! Each year, visitors from all locations are drawn to Eureka to enjoy outstanding events such as the Redwood Coast Jazz Festival, Blues by the Bay, the Kinetic Sculpture race, Arts! Alive, Redwood Auto XPO, Humboldt Bay Oyster Festival, Tour of the Unknown Coast, Paddle to the Headwaters and many many more!

Enjoy our comfortable, newly-remodeled 2 bedroom / 2 bath home located on a quiet street in the wonderful neighborhood of Henderson Center. A one-block walk takes you to a quaint shopping hub of Eureka, where you can start your day with morning espresso at a great family-owned bakery, enjoy restaurants, a gift shop/pharmacy, indulge yourself at a day spa, experience the farmer's market (in season), take care of banking needs and more. Henderson Center is minutes away from Eureka’s historic Old Town and Waterfront and the Sequoia Park Zoo. A short drive finds you at magnificent ocean beaches, towering redwood forests, California State parks, or one the six rivers that form Six Rivers National Forest.

Eureka is approximately 230 miles north of San Francisco, and about 90 miles from the Oregon border. Scenic Avenue of the Giants is about 40 miles south, and Redwood National Park is about the same distance north. We look forward to welcoming you!

About Jim Stemach

We have lived in Humboldt County over 25 years, and Jim was born and raised here. We choose to make this place home due to its natural beauty and proximity to the ocean, Jim takes his boat out every chance he gets.

Jim Stemach purchased this house in 2006

Why Jim Stemach chose North Coast

Henderson Center is a charming area of Eureka, with many craftsman-style bungalows and other types of architectural beauty. The house was built in the 1940's, and we had the opportunity to buy it from its original owner. It's a gem.

Sweet house!

  • 4 of 5

This is a sweet 2 bdrm 2 bath bungalow, very comfortable, very good price. Especially nice is the 50's kitchen and the automatic fireplace. Beds are very comfortable and it is a quiet neighborhood close to shopping, etc. We loved staying here and will definitely stay again. (A couple of functional problems but I am sure they have been fixed by now!)

Delightful home in great neighborhood area

  • 5 of 5

We are a local couple who needed a rental after a home sale. We know Eureka. This home is charming, well appointed and so comfortable. It's located in a great area of town. The house is well appointed and clean. We felt at home. Loved the fireplace!

The owners are very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked it later this year!

Beautiful and clean

  • 5 of 5

The exterior is beautifully surrounded by rose bushes and the house was well prepared and stocked. The place was neat and clean with the essentials. The property was larger than expected and was an overall pleasent location.

Great VRBO

  • 5 of 5

This is just a great vacation rental. The home is vintage and charming but it has plenty of conveniences. The neighborhood is charming and there is plenty to do close by. The owners are responsive and there are plenty of towels, linens, etc. and you feel that they trust you in their home. Eureka is a great place to visit and this VRBO is a tremendous value.

This was a great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This is one of the nicest places we have rented, and we have rented a lot. We arrived in the middle of a huge rain storm to be greeted by a nice fire and lights on in the house. We would eagerly return to this rental. Our dealings with the owners were straight forward and I had the sense any problem would be dealt with expeditiously, but there were no problems.

GREAT Location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a 3rd stay at this property, and it's always been a pleasure. The location is hard to beat, and for being in the middle of town, it's nice and quiet and really quite private. The place was spotlessly clean too. Would/will stay again when there's a chance!
