LITTLE LAGOON HAS GROWN UP! ! ! Little Lagoon's expansion is complete (SEE ADDITIONAL PICTURES!) The apartment next door to it was renovated and can connect with the existing space that spans the ENTIRE FIRST FLOOR OF THE HOUSE! You can rent the FULL 2-BDR/2-BATH APARTMENT (which includes everything listed in the FEATURES SECTION), or you can choose a '1-BDR option' (see below). You can rent just one half of the house (a small 1-BDR apt. called LITTLE LAGOON NORTH), or the other half (the larger 1-BDR apt. called LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH)! Please note that the calendar is not blocked off until BOTH UNITS ARE RENTED!

Your choice of two '1-Bedroom Apartment' Options:

'LITTLE LAGOON NORTH' is a cute 1-BDR/1 Bath apartment on the ocean side first floor of a solid masonry 2-story building right on John's Folly Bay lagoon. This little getaway is fully screened & has a refrigerator, sink, microwave, 2 burner hotplate, coffeemaker, toaster oven, dinnerware, flatware and various kitchen supplies, just enough for minimal food preparation and reheating. There is a 3/4 private bathroom (tiled shower stall). 'LITTLE LAGOON NORTH' also includes a sofa bed in the living room, in addition to the Queen bed in the small bedroom, which is ideal for a family with small children. There is also a private porch with a BBQ grill and outdoor dining under the coconut palm trees.

If you prefer something a bit larger, 'LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH' is a larger 1-BDR/1-Bath apartment with a full kitchen, living room, 3/4-Bath (tiled shower stall) and outdoor porch (half of which is screened in and has a futon)! 'LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH' also includes a Queen sofa bed in the living room, and a Queen bed and A/C in the bedroom It is also ideal for a family with children. SEE NEW PICTURES!!

We view several U. S. and British Virgin Islands, the shipping lanes for cruise ships, and sailing & motor vessels. We face N.E. and experience awesome sunrises and reflections of beautiful sunsets. We are 100 yards from the beach at John's Folly Bay and 20 feet above sea level on a beautifully landscaped vista of flowers/native trees/palm trees/fruit trees. The building is owner-occupied with 2 children, and has an outdoor play area available. We are steps away from John's Folly Bay, a shallow lagoon on the south side of St. John. We're on the public bus route, but car rentals are recommended.

You might have many interesting questions to ask the owner, Ernest, who is a native Virgin Islander and a former OLYMPIC ATHLETE who competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France! Bobsledding, no less! We even have an historic ruins built in 1882 on site, of which Ernest is the 5th generation. We are surrounded by hiking trails & various white sand and rocky swimming/snorkeling beaches. The V.I. National Park constitutes 2/3 of the island, and the skies are usually sunny with an average year-round temperature of 85 degrees.

Our most relaxing vacation!!!

We had an amazing one week vacation this past February. The house was beautiful and very clean. We rented both units and enjoyed having the little beach only steps away!! There was everything we needed including a cooler and beach chairs we used every day. The humming birds in the shrub in front of the house were amazing to watch every morning and I have to mention the friendly dogs we hung out with on the beach each day (we loved Shadow too!!). We would totally recommend this property to anyone who wants an authentic, peaceful, relaxing vacation home!!!! Thanks again, Sara, Chris & Zoe

Amazing property! Fantastic hosts!

Little Lagoon was the perfect place for us and our longtime friends to spend a week! We rented both units. We prefer a kick-back type of vacation in a rustic/rural location right on the beach. Little Lagoon filled our needs and exceeded our expectations! What we hadn't fully realized is how wonderful it is to have the perfect hosts living right upstairs. Donna and Ernest never interfered with our lives, but would magically appear at polite times of the morning or late afternoon and inquire about our

day's activities, offering suggestions as needed. The quiet house is beautifully appointed, with excellent beds and a full kitchen. We were surprised to find it was never uncomfortably warm, with only the ceiling fans occasionally running. Everything is top notch and we're looking forward to returning in the near future.

Great rental and friendly helpful owners

We had a great 6 night stay at Little Lagoon South, didn't want to leave. It worked out well with three of use, 2 in the queen bed and one on the couch bed. This will be the place we stay next time on St John, we prefer this side of the island for the quite beaches and laid back atmosphere. Donna and Ernest are helpful and great people to get to know. Highly recommended. Lots of restaurant options between the rental and Coral Bay, and Concordia Restaurant is very close. Kitchen is great for preparing meals and we ate most nights at the rental. Grill is provided. No problem accessing the property with a car, most folks seem to rent jeeps for St John, but a car works fine (and is 1/2 the price) unless you are heading to Lameshur beach, which can be done in a car (we did it) with a few bumps and scrapes.

HIGHLY recommend Little Lagoon- too bad there's a limit on how much I can gush about this place!

We stayed at Little Lagoon for 2 weeks on our first visit to St John - 2 adults and a 4 year old. The day we left I was ready to come back to the island and back to stay with Donna and Ernest. They provided excellent instructions for getting from Cruz Bay over to Coral Bay to the Coccoloba shops where Ernest met us and had us follow him to the house. If this is place is actually 100 yards from the beach, I'd be surprised. The water (and some chairs and great snorkeling) are SO, SO close. We rented L.L North because South was already booked. I'd forgotten that only South has air conditioning in the bedroom and so when we arrived was afraid that 2 weeks without AC at night would be torturous. But it was not. We were there in February/March and there was always a breeze. That plus plenty of fans kept us comfortable at night, and we were barely there during the day. For the 3 of us, North was fine. I think next time we'd still like to get South, but if you're just one or two people or three who are not staying a long time, North is fine. Don't plan to do major cooking with this kitchenette (no counter/prep space) but breakfast basics or a simple supper are possible. Plus you can't beat the price, if budget is a huge concern. We were basically comfortable with the the 3 of us in North, but with 3 of us, all of our stuff for 2 weeks, and using the couch for a bed, seating, dining...next time we'll stay in South. That said, the apartment was immaculate, they left us a beautiful vase of fresh flowers from the property, were super helpful and informative and I just can't say enough how great a place this was to stay. Donna and Ernest are so kind -if we lived there I'd want to be friends and hang out with them. We really liked having that little beach right there, but also being close to the other east and south beaches. The north/west beaches are more "crowded" but even that is a stretch. You'll find just about everything you need (except a gas station!) in Coral Bay. We grocery shopped there, bought gifts there, ate there and were in Cruz Bay only to arrive and depart. It's definitely the quiet side of the island, so be aware of that, but you almost feel like a native! Our son enjoyed the swings, Ernest lent us a boogie board, they often came out when we got back in the evening to see where we'd been or to make recommendations. It was a wonderful vacation. I'm ready to return. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Peaceful and Beautiful Location on St. John's Quieter East Side!

We enjoyed our stay at the Little Lagoon! We especially liked being away from the busier west side of the island - it feels very secluded and is a quiet location away from roads. My husband and I and our 4 young children fit well here - the apartment was the perfect size for us (Little Lagoon - South) and has a nice kitchen that allowed us to prepare daily meals for our family. Our kids enjoyed the swings out front and walking down to the water. Ernest and Donna and their family were very welcoming and were always available to answer any questions we had about the apartment or places to snorkel/play on the beach. We would recommend the Little Lagoon to anyone!

Another Wonderful Visit

Little Lagoon is absolutely perfect in every way for a single/senior traveler as myself. I have enjoyed this apartment on several occasions and look forward to returning again and again. Being able to walk to the lagoon to enjoy the view, the breeze, the peace and calm of the water is amazing. The location and accessibility is convenient and if you love St. John and Coral Bay the way I do, you really should enjoy Little Lagoon. Thank you Donna and Ernest for your kindness and creating this paradise at Johns Folly to share.
