beautiful lakefront property on West Lake

  • 5 of 5

This lake house has a very nice open concept and is spacious enough for six adults. Loved the beams, vaulted ceiling and stone gas fireplace but most of all I loved the view of the lake from the wall of windows and the large deck with the barbecue , the outdoor dining and the view of the Sandbanks dunes. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with lots of dishes, a very practical breakfast bar and a very quite dishwasher. The main bedroom with its walk in closet and ensuite and patio door to the deck was nice and private. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there is a wonderful fire pit surrounded by flagstones. Unfortunately the dock was not in the water due to the very high water level on West Lake and we had limited use of the canoe because there were no paddles only oars. The Sandbanks pass was appreciated but because of extensive flooding and the high water levels on Lake Ontario most trails at Sandbanks Provincial Park were closed as was the Sandbanks beach day use area , that beach is presently non existent and access to the dunes required wading through knee deep water. Even with the wet conditions we thoroughly enjoyed our little family reunion in this beautiful lake house .

Stunning view from this well appointed lake home. It was the perfect spot for a quiet New Years getaway. A nice, quiet neighbourhood we hope to visit again.

Beautiful/ Relaxing Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My husband an I spent the Thanksgiving weekend at this cottage. Everything we needed was provided. The cottage was newly updated, very spacious especially for the two of us and clean. Directions to find the cottage was very clear and all instructions and communication with the owner was easily accessible if needed. We appreciated the use of the provincial park pass to visit Sandbanks for an afternoon picnic. The location of the cottage is in a reasonable driving distance to visit the town of Wellington or Picton, local wineries, brewries or artists studios. The view off the back deck overlooking the water was lovely. We would definitely visit this location again.

Fantastic lakeside getaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely place to spend a few days - we could easily have stayed for a few weeks!

We were two couples, a baby, and two dogs, and stayed for four nights. This cottage is more like a house on a lake than what I would have called a traditional cottage, but the decor still gives it that cottage feel, but with all the amenities of a house. The view from the porch and dock of the sandbanks is outstanding, and makes the dock a relaxing place for morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The house was very clean when we arrived, reasonably well equipped kitchen, great laundry (key with an infant!), and good sized rooms (two with Queen beds and one full bed).

The house is on a quiet road so no car traffic, and the road is a look so nice for a stroller or dog walk. Friendly people in the neighborhood.

We are very sad to leave, but so pleased we stayed here, and would definitely come back!
