Good alternative to a cramped Manhatten hotel
Place is convenient for subway. Mattress pads for sofa beds were comfortable. We didn't find the roads too noisy but it might be different in summer if you need the windows open. Watch out for the roof deck - we managed to lock ourselves up there so it was fortunate that one of us stayed downstairs to let us back in!
For the most part, everything about the place was great. The owner always responded to our inquiries prior to our trip and during our stay. The place was warm and had wonderful accomodations. I would have given the place 5 stars; however the mattresses were very uncomfortable and the place was dusty. Otherwise, I would recommend this place to anyone.
Apartment literally is next to the freeway, traffic noise terrible.
The back of the apartment literally is next to the freeway and the front of the apartments is on the main access road leading to the freeway. Five adults used ear plugs were still unable to get anything like a reasonable night’s sleep. Forget using the roof deck as the main view is the freeway and traffic noise makes it impossible to even have a discussion. The apartment is ok , I suggest it’s a full on rental and as such reflects that in its décor and furnishings. Apartment location is good to subway and shops.
The apartment is very good located in Brooklyn, since the metro is just a block away. It is convenient near a nice grocery store and little shops. The immediate surroundings are not very nice, but two blocks away there is a park and the streets have trees. A very big inconvenience is that the apartment is in the second floor, and you have to go to a third floor for the bedrooms. One bath is in the third floor, the second is in the second floor. The apartment is near a Highway, so one bedroom has noise day and night. The amenities in the kitchen were enough, but essential tools like blender and cheese grater were missing. All other appliances were working OK. The owner was not very helpful and his directions were minimum, it would be important put instructions of maintenance of the house (garbage) and all devices. It is remodeled and was quite clean. I can recommend it if you do not mind stairs and like to be in Brooklyn. For visiting NY you have to think in an hour metro trip.

Additional information about rental rates
There is a lost key fee of $100. There is no smoking of any kind, either in the unit or on the roof deck. Anyone caught smoking will be asked to check out immediately and forfeit the remaining balance of their stay. If the unit smells of smoke after you leave, you will lose 50% of the damage deposit to cover additional cleaning costs.
