Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 30 nights

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2

Stay in a modern 1 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor (US) with an elevator and a view, in the middle of the very vibrant Montparnasse neighborhood on the Boulevard Edgar Quinet, next to the metro stop.

The apartment is quiet and calm, on a green courtyard with a view across the rooftops. Wake up to three large windows over looking a view of different Parisian styled buildings and green space. Large size modern bathroom with big shower. Bedroom with French queen size bed plus separate living room with a pull out couch.

Washing machine in apartment.

High Speed Internet and FREE calls to the USA and selected other countries included! PC included.

Small kitchenette great for preparing meals using some of the amazing products from the local farmer's market in front of the apartment twice a week. There are also many shops and supermarkets open daily right at your door.

Very close to the cemetery Montparnasse were such notables as Simone de Beauvoir are buried. The Montparnasse train station is two blocks away, as well as several Metro locations (Edgar Quinet, Vavin, Raspail to name a few).

The neighborhood has been a favorite of artists and writers for many years including Picasso and Hemmingway. Some of the great cafes they ate and drank at are right out your door and ready for you to sip a glass of wine or coffee while watching the Parisians as they live.

perfect host!

  • 5 of 5

We (retired US couple) spent a week in the apartment in October 2016. We greatly prefer apartment rentals to hotels and have done this several times previously in Italy and France. This was our best-ever rental experience! The apartment was exactly as advertised, spotlessly clean, and extremely well equipped. Our host Denis responded promptly to all queries, was friendly and very helpful. We were impressed with the very helpful how-to guidebook he provided giving details on apartment procedures and appliances; wish more hosts were as thorough. The location is excellent, a short distance from 3 metro stations and Gare Montparnasse (bus from CDG, and TGV trains). Grocery stores, restaurants, and a self-service laundry (the apartment has a washer but no dryer) are nearby. There is a twice-weekly street market on the street's median strip. The apartment was quiet and comfortable. We'll be back!

A Wondferful Week In Paris

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I - a middle aged couple - stayed at the apartment for a week in September 2015. We loved it. It is within walking distance of the SNCF station, the airport bus, RER trains and about 4 Metro stops. There are plenty of cafes, patisseries, and even supermarkets nearby and a twice weekly street market almost right outside the gate. We walked to Les Invalides in about 1/2 hour. The apartment is secure and quiet at night. Denis, the owners son, speaks and writes fluent English and was quick to respond both before and after our arrival. The apartment has everything you could want and more. We were very very happy with our stay.

Great location, great apartment

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in this apartment and it was one of the best equipped we have ever stayed in. There was even a teapot and a stopper in case you didn't drink the whole bottle of champagne! The place was spotless, lots of windows made it bright even though the sun wasn't shining for us most of the time. Great location, close to several metro stations, an RER station with direct connection to CDG and the mainline Montparnasse station where you can catch a train to Versailles. Easy walking distance to the Luxembourg Gardens and beyond and lots of restaurants and cafes close by. We would definitely recommend this apartment to others!

Perfect Parisian Experience

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent 5 nights at this quiet apartment, which was perfect for the 2 of us,although it could accommodate 2 more on the sleep sofa. Two years ago we stayed there for a week. Jean Pierre's son, Denis, greeted us and was very helpful and available during our stay. The kitchen is well equipped and enabled us to cook food from the wonderful marche's that take place on Rue Edgar Quinet, right in front of the building. There is a large tub and shower, and a washer. There are also great small markets nearby, as well as cafes, movie house, and live theater, including a unique Comedia del Arte theatre just around the corner. The Montparnasse cemetery is across the street with incredibly creative and historical monuments and it is where Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir are interred. The Catacombs are nearby, as is the beautiful Luxembourg Garden. The apartment is light and airy, and there is a phone for free international and French calls. On our departure, Denis asked us if there was anything else that we could think of to improve the comfort of the apartment. Tough question. We couldn't come up with a thing.

A Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from three weeks in Jean-Pierre's perfect apartment. I have rented apartments for many years in Paris and in different locations. This was, by far, the best apartment of any I have ever stayed in. The location is terrific; not only do you have the wonderful markets on Wednesday, Saturdays, and Sundays just across the street, but the neighborhood is full of great restaurants, a Picard and huge Monoprix, at least 5 movie theaters and three metro lines within a five-minute walk. It's only a 10-minute walk to the Luxembourg gardens and from there on to the Seine or the Latin Quarter. The Gare Montparnasse down the street can take you on great one-day trips to other cities. Don't miss the garden on top of the Gare!

The apartment itself couldn't be more comfortable. My 6'3" son had plenty of room and in the king-sized fold-out couch and my queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The apartment is light, clean, quiet, and full of anything you need to cook. I was especially impressed with the generous amount of dishes, pots, pans, and silverware provided. Note there is no oven but the microwave and cooktop enable you to cook easily.

It was particularly great to have a computer and a phone to use...even free calls to the U.S.

This is a great advantage for those of us who travel without a laptop and phone.

Jean-Pierre and his son Denis were extremely helpful and fixed the very few things that needed attention right away. I hope this will be my future home in Paris from now on.

Lovely and Bright

  • 5 of 5

We just spent one month in this lovely and bright apartment in Montparnasse. It was a wonderful experience in every way a traveller could wish. The owners have thought of everything that could possibly make living in their apartment comfortable and carefree. From the beds which are extremely comfortable to the appliances to the kitchen ware, etc. every detail has been provided to make the renter feel at home. Nothing has been overlooked. The apartment is equipped with everything one might need. The apartment itself is lovely and open and full of light from large windows that overlook a charming courtyard. The space is airy and open and quiet and guarded by a locked gate. The building has an efficient security system that adds to one's feeling of well being. The furnishings are modern and appealing. There is a large bathtub and a very good shower with constant hot water. The location is a dream. Located on a lovely tree lined Blvd. it's just around the corner from some of the most famous cafes in Paris. One can walk to the lovely Luxembourg Gardens in just a few minutes or the Saint Germain district in fifteen. There are two subways which are only moments away and wonderful shops and restaurants also just around the corner. And for anyone interested in the arts, one can imagine these streets and cafes inhabited by legends such as Hemingway and Fitzgerald. This is the area in which these greats did some of their most prominent work. And whatever you may need that you cannot find yourself, the owners will provide upon request. A true gem of this website.
