An excellent alternative to pricey hotels, our fully-furnished North End fourth floor walk-up condo has ben refurbished to the highest standards, while maintaining the charm. It has a kitchen with granite countertops, where you can prepare a complete meal. The full-size bathroom with tile tub/shower, and tile floor, has a granite-topped vanity. The floors in the remainder of the unit are refinished oak. Furniture includes a very comfortable Queen Murphy bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress, a queen state of the art sleeper sofa that doesn't have bars or springs, a dining table for two, and a wall mounted 32-inch plasma TV and a DVD player. There is cable tv and wireless internet. The unit is very clean and well-maintained. Iron, ironing board, alarm clock radio, and hair dryer are provided. This condo is perfect for 2 adults and 2 young children!

Located a block off the Freedom Trail and around the corner from the North Church, our condo is the perfect spot if you want to be in the center of the action, but on a quiet, safe, short street. Walk the cobblestone streets like Paul Revere and America's ancestors, or take a trek on the new Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway which connects to many sights including shopping new (Banana Republic, Crate and Barrel, Gap, Ann Taylor, Macy's) and old, including vintage old world shops. Also nearby are Copp's Hill Burying Ground, Paul Revere's House, and the Bunker Hill monument. The T, Boston's public transportation system, nearby and easy to use, will take you quickly to outlying areas, including Harvard and Cambridge. We are within easy walking distance of most Boston attractions and are a block away from Boston Harbor with its many restaurants featuring chowder and local fish dishes.

Boston's North End is a diner's mecca, with more than 100 restaurants and bakeries only a short distance from our condo. Whether you desire authentic Italian or more contemporary dining, you can find it all in the North End.

We are an easy commute to Boston's Logan International Airport as well as to Amtrak stations. It is just a ten-minute cab ride from the Airport and a ten-minute ride to the Amtrak Trains to New York. The 'T' goes to both. You do NOT need a car to get around the city if you are staying in the North End.

We usually have a five-night minimum, but if there are four or fewer days available between bookings, we will rent for fewer nights, depending upon the number of days available. Please send an inquiry or email us if you have questions.

About The Owner

We are retired high-school teachers who live in Tallahassee, Florida. This year, we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary. Our son and daughter-in-law, daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren live in Tallahassee, also. We love to travel and enjoy family and friend time.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2008

Why The Owner chose North End

We visited Boston to celebrate Wedding Anniversary #39 and fell in love with the city. We stayed in the North End, where we bought our condo, and could swear that we were in Italy when we walked the neighborhood. Boston offers so much history and so many sights to see. The food was delicious and the ability to walk almost the entire city appealed to us. There are so many different activities to keep us busy.

What makes this condo unique

We enjoy the ability to get out and walk the city, seeing so many historic places in the process. We have visited during all seasons of the year and find it to be beautiful in each. There are so many restaurants and bakeries within minutes of the condo. Somehow, I never cook, which suits me fine! The T is an excellent subway system; we don't need a car. I suppose the excitement of the city is our favorite part.

Amazing Place To Stay in Boston!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I recently had the opportunity to stay at this amazing studio apartment in Boston and we cannot say enough positive things about it! We always love to stay in apartments/condos when we travel as we feel it's truly the best way to feel like "locals" and this condo definitely did just that. The apartment was spacious enough for us and all our luggage. The bathroom was just the right size and (if we hadn't decided to indulge on the incredible Italian food all around us) the kitchen would've been perfect for cooking meals. I would say one of the best parts about the apartment was the bed! Since Boston is coined as "The Walking City," the bed in the apartment was just absolutely the best thing to come home to after a long day. I swear- I still miss that bed haha. I would definitely echo the sentiments of others about the stairs- they are pretty narrow and hard to maneuver with luggage, but honestly, not a problem at all (great way to burn off the Italian calories!).

The location of this property is also ideal. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from two different T stations. It's also right in the middle of some of the best Italian food restaurants we've ever eaten at (and we spent a month in Italy!). It's about 1 block away from The North Church and Paul Revere's statute/house. It's really right on the Freedom Trail and an incredibly easy walk over to the USS Constitution, Bunker Hill etc., as well as down to Beacon Street, The Commons, Faneuil Hall, and all the other sights.

I would also recommend this property because of Carlos and Cheryl. I had no reservations about staying there because of their professionalism, promptness, and helpfulness throughout the whole process. In fact, Carlos even would chat with me on the phone and when I'd e-mail, he would respond typically within the hour. We also appreciated the little "information packet" they sent us right before we left. It covered everything--from how to control the thermostat, how to open the bed, how to find the apartment, and the best places to eat and what to see while we were there.

Thank you Carlos and Cheryl! When we come back, we will definitely be staying here again.

Couldn't Have Been Better!

  • 5 of 5

I felt compelled to pat myself on the back for making such a great decision in renting this 'property'. My daughter and I actually "high-fived" each other upon entering the apt. We had gone to Boston for our annual mother/daughter springbreak trip. Chicago,D.C., and the Poconos were our previous destinations and were wonderful, but having this condo in Boston made our stay there extra special. There were absolutely no surprises awaiting us upon arrival or throughout the week. Cheryl gave a rather detailed description of where to walk, the duration of the walks, activities or sites to see along the way, and of course, places to eat.

We flew to Logan from Pittsburgh. The owners provided EXACT details on the shuttle and train and on foot to get us to their condo. It was truly stress-free. I would really NOT want to take a vehicle to Boston because the streets are very narrow, the parking--IF available--is expensive and inconvenient, and it is tremendously easy to walk to many destinations. We took the train to Cambridge to shop and to go to the Museum of Fine Arts (which is free on Wed. evenings btw).

We ate out at times, but also ate in. The kitchen was stocked well. Sometimes after walking so much in one day, we would get take-out and go back to eat in the condo late at night. It was restful. We found that we would go to 'Going Bananas' on Salem St to buy our grocery things. They had great produce and pre-made salads that were perfect. Unfortunately, we had to pass 'Bova's' Bakery on the way back to the condo. They have breads and desserts to die for. So, we couldn't resist--AND they are open 24 hrs, 365 days a year!

We loved Salem St and it is so so close to the apt.

One thing we would say about other sites is, if you plan to climb the Bunker Hill Monument, beware! Walking there was simple. Going up and coming down were a 'piece of cake'. The next a.m., my calves were unhappy:) Advil was my friend.

The owner's were great. They answered any question I had prior to and after booking. I never needed to contact them while we were there because everything was perfectly in order. The keys arrived on time and they made returning them extremely easy, also. I forgot my phone charger and contacted Carlos. He immediately assured me the 'cleaning' person had found it and would return it to me.

We would definitely stay here again and have told several friends they should too! The property, the owners, the area, the food, the sites....couldn't have been better

Owner's Response: Rita, we are so glad that you and Lindsay had a fun mother/daughter spring break and hope you return to Boston again soon. It makes us happy to know that other people can enjoy Boston the way we do! I think it is totally understandable that one can not walk by Bova's or Mike's Pastry and not partake of the goodies on display there! We always walk it off when we are there. Yes, the Bunker Hill monument is impressive. The view is beautiful. And, yes, it is a strenuous walk to the top! Thanks so much for your review and we were delighted to have you as our guests. Cheryl

Couldn’t have found a better place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This quaint little place was the perfect spot for us. It was close to all of the historical sites we wanted to visit, was in a neighborhood full of great Italian restaurants and lovely bakeries, and had so much character we almost thought we would hear horses’ hooves on the cobblestones! This property made our trip to Boston and we will rebook it without a doubt when we return!

Owner's Response: Thank you, and, we are so happy that you had a good time. I also hear those horses’ hooves on the cobblestone, so, it must be real! We love the North End. Hope you can return again soon.

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

So this was my first time to Boston. My fiancé and I wanted to do a long weekend trip and to say we were pleased is an understatement. The location is absolutely perfect in the heart of the North end and great location basically on the Freedom Trail. The unit itself is perfect for 2. Thanks again Carlos and we will most certainly be back to stay again.

Thanks, The Belcher’s

Nice Property in North End

  • 4 of 5

+ VERY helpful owners

+ Close to restaurants and historical sites

+ Close to a convenience store (7-11)

+ Within 10 minute walk of a T-stop (subway system)

+ Safe neighborhood

+ Comfortable beds

- Space is tight

- Condo is up several stories

- Some cigarette smell in the condo building

This is a nice little condo for 2 or 3 people in a good location in the North End in Boston. It's within easy walking distance of a ton of restaurants and historical sites, and the owners are very, very helpful. They were very quick to respond to an issue with the delivery of the keys. Everything was accurately described and their instructions and notes were very useful.

I'd suggest that only 2 or 3 adults stay in this condo since there is really only enough sleeping space on the Murphy bed and the pull-out sofa. The rest of the condo is pretty tight, and you'll only be able to fit a child-sized mattress on the floor if you need more space. Please also be aware this this is on the fourth floor up a narrow staircase, so keep that in mind when you're packing your luggage.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and, we hope you return to Boston one day soon. I know you mentioned that the smell of cigarettes was in the condo building and not in our individual condo. Just wanted to make sure that was clear to the people who read this review. I think, perhaps, the smell is coming from the outside, where people go to smoke, since we are a smoke-free building. In nearly 200 reviews, we have had no mention of cigarette smoke.
