Seas the Experience
We've been going to this area of Maine for 10+ years and Seas the Day stands out head above heels over any other rental in which we have stayed. This cottage has the Maine "atmosphere" while being updated for all the conveniences of home. Bill seeks to ensure that each guest has the best Maine experience possible. We had been wanting to stay in Seas the Day ever since we stumbled upon it during one of our trips but until 2019, we could never match our availability with the cottage availability. So glad we finally got together and whenever we return to the area, we will not hesitate to stay here again. Best experience in the Pemaquid/New Harbor...not even close.

We had a wonderful time last week. The house and grounds were fabulous. we were very impressed with you and Bon's attention to detail in all aspects. Also can't say enough about the view. Those sunsets were incredible. We spent a lot of time on the deck and loved the awning and gas grill. Also thanks for the picnic table. It was a great addition. We referred to your "Epistle" several times for tips on restaurants and thngs to do. Our granddaughter loved having her own room with the balcony and even got to see the eagle a couple of times. Daughter and son-in-law loved the hot tub and he had a great time fishing off the rocks alsmost every day. Could not have asked for a better place for our family vacation. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful beach house with us.

A Million Dollar View BUT ....
We stayed at “Seas-The- Day” in late July 2019. We were entranced by the location and view over the bay and towards the ocean- one of the prettiest prospects on that side of the Pemaquid peninsula. But our vacation was marred by the inadequate air-conditioning system which does not cool in any meaningful way the two bedrooms on the second floor even on moderately warm sunny days in the high 70s- a combination of west-facing glass windows being superheated by the sun and lack of fan power resulted in many days when the upstairs bedrooms were uninhabitable and my wife had to sleep on the pull-out couch in the living room. Naturally during the few 90+ degree days it was even worse and even the third bedroom downstairs could hardly stay sleepable on those days. The owner has promised a new separate upstairs A/C system for next year and one should check to see that that has been done.
Our stay featured more malfunctions than any we have ever experienced - all the way from missing ground floor screens (preventing cross drafts), fans which could not be turned on (defective switches), electronic main door which locked us out, a refrigerator which barely cooled anything from the start and gave up during the last week, and an odd yellow color to the water apparently due to malfunctioning filter systems. Finally, the mattresses in the downstairs bedroom and the double bed on 2d floor were very uncomfortable and worn out making a good night’s sleep difficult. We always expect something to go wrong in a house, but this barrage of problems was a bit much, even though they were either ultimately fixed or investigated for future action. They resulted in our being uncomfortable and unhappy with what should have been a perfect rental.
In the last 10 years we have received stellar reviews resulting in being awarded VRBO/Home Away Premium Partner Status which we are proud of and strive to maintain. When this review was posted, which is a graphic juxtaposition to all our other reviews in the last 10 years, we were shocked, appalled, embarrassed and hurt. Not to mention the fact that their review has had a material negative impact on our rental business. All our attorney clients, family and friends please don't call offering to file a lawsuit in exchange for a free month! Therefore, and I admit it was a knee jerk reaction, I posed a response that was so specific, and yes graphic in nature, to each of their points and our side of the story that VRBO was uncomfortable posting it. Therefore here is our considerably watered down response. Their review is full of fallacies and out right lies. Most of their complaints were caused by "user error" ("we have these same problems when we travel in Europe", don't yank on the front loader washer door while it's running!) and some they never even told us about. The rectification was very simple (you left the refrigerator door open loading groceries so it needed a simple 2 button 5 second reset) . When we told them the solution on the the air conditioner they did the opposite. We offered them a free week as people of honor and they never mentioned that in their review. Because they don't play fair. They were so nice on the phone then personally attacked us on email (they claimed all our great reviews were fake from family, friends and "your wife's book club" which is impossible on VRBO Verified reviews) then posted this review trashing our home. They damaged our property and never told us, class act. When our repeat client checked in after them they found the clothes racks ripped off the wall and tossed in the closet. Who does that? Nice, real nice. After the following family checked out we jumped on a plane to check out their claims. All bogus. And the wonderful team that takes care of our home, one is 38 and terminally ill with two small children, said they they treated them poorly. Even after I told them that he was terminally ill and therefore forgot to install ONE screen and asked this client to please show him grace. As my mother taught me, "Money can buy a lot of things but it can't buy class".
Red Door to Paradise
‘Seas the Day’ is such a wonderful get away home. The three bedrooms, kitchen and dining room have large windows and sliding doors that overlook the beauty of the ocean. On the day we arrived, the air conditioning was on. We actually shut it off for the week so we could enjoy the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves. The kitchen is fully stocked including a coffeemaker for your early morning wake up. No sleeping in, too much beauty to enjoy!! Appliances are updated and high end. Robes are provided for guests along with linens and towels. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit one evening making s’mores, yes, I said fire pit - a bonus to your stay. The home also included an outdoor hot tub. Did I mention a hammock and a glider for relaxing or reading a book, or watching the beautiful sunsets. So many good memories this home now holds for us. Definitely would recommend walking through that red door and make your own memories.

This couple had simple issues, most caused by "user error" , that they never reported and therefore we didn't have the opportunity to address and simply rectify. Furthermore they damaged our property (ripped racks off the wall and tossed them in the closet) for the house keeper and next REPEAT client to find. Everything was great. Hot tub was used often by my wife. Naps were taken in the hammock. Had fund playing with the kids in the big backyard right on the water. Would definitely recommend.

Although we make our home in Nashville Tennessee, we have rented 2-3 times a year through VRBO for the past 8 years. Through our wonderful experiences we learned what we needed, wanted and really appreciated in a vacation rental. In 2008 we decided to cross over to 'the other side' and become owners. We looked at southeast beach properties and Rocky Mountain ski resorts. In the end we fell in love with the breathtaking coast of Pemaquid Point Penninsula in New Harbor Maine. We tell our friends and family 'our vacation home is up in the middle of the woods on the ocean in Maine'. It truly is the best of all worlds. All the benefits of the ocean (can you say lobster?!) without the stifling heat. As an avid runner Bon loves logging the miles on the quiet tree lined roads while Bill fishes for striper and blues off the rocky outcropping on the beach. The kids explore the bay and outer islands by kayak looking for seals. We all love walking down to the lighthouse and having breakfast in the restaurant while watching the crashing surf. And of course there are the morning coffee, and evening cocktail walks along the groomed shore path. So calming, so peaceful, so absolutely wonderful. We have done absolutely everything possible to make our home exactly how we would want a rental for our family. We book solid, with many repeat clients, up to a year in advance as many folks book the next year upon check out.

You have looked at or even stayed at the rest, now stay at the best! If you want THEE best view and a clean and crisp home this is the one for you. In the winter of 2016 we sealed the basement walls and floor and run a dehumidifier 7/24. When you open the basement door take a big sniff, nice and fresh and this carries over to the whole house! many houses up here smell musty and moldy. Bill is very allergic to mold so all the furniture, window treatments and hardwood floors as opposed to carpet make our home crisp and clean.

April, our meticulous cleaning team leader, is married to Shaun the Lobstahman. he delivers fresh out of the water to the door live or steamed (not boiled) seven days a week cheaper than Subway sandwiches. And David Cheney delivers the best oysters in America to the door and puts on a shucking demonstration. Then there is the ocean front spa for 6 with our spectacular sunsets. Oh, the hammock too and life on the deck.
