Friendly and helpful owner, clean and functional property, subway access extremely convenient.
Our family of seven was looking for a place to stay to make a trip to Manhattan more affordable and this spot worked great. The subway station was a half block away, extremely convenient, and we were on Manhattan island (via the R line) and at our stop in 30 minutes +/- each day depending on where we were starting.
The accomodations left a touch to be desired as the sleeper sofas are in the living room together. This worked fine for us as our boys are used to getting "the bunk room" when we travel, but make sure it works for your group if larger.
That said, the property was clean, the kitchen and bathrooms were nice and the owner was friendly, helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We never went on the roof deck but it looks like the view is great.
The street and surrounding area aren't pretty but were completely safe. We would see lots of kids and parents heading to school each morning as went went towards the subway.
All in all, I have no reservations in recommending this property.
Very nice accommodations and perfect location
Terrific stay with 6 adults! Location was close to the train and neighborhood eateries. Kitchen was very modern and bathrooms were done well. Access to the roof was a real game changer. The stairs are a little steep, so hold onto the railing. We'll be back and would recommend to most anyone.
Roomy, clean and tidy. The owners were considerate and had dishwasher and washing machine powders to use.
Holidays in New York
beautiful vacation, comfortable home, great location to get to Manhattan. recommended
Good alternative to a cramped Manhatten hotel
Place is convenient for subway. Mattress pads for sofa beds were comfortable. We didn't find the roads too noisy but it might be different in summer if you need the windows open. Watch out for the roof deck - we managed to lock ourselves up there so it was fortunate that one of us stayed downstairs to let us back in!
For the most part, everything about the place was great. The owner always responded to our inquiries prior to our trip and during our stay. The place was warm and had wonderful accomodations. I would have given the place 5 stars; however the mattresses were very uncomfortable and the place was dusty. Otherwise, I would recommend this place to anyone.
We are located in Park Slope South on 17th Street, near 4th Avenue
