This is our family home, not an investment property. We live in Texas but we make frequent trips to Kiawah Island, SC to enjoy the fabulous beach, the abundance of nature, the fun of Charleston and lots of great golf.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
We chose Kiawah for the following reasons: 13 miles of fabulous beach, dedication to protecting nature on the island, the proximity to one of the most historic towns in the U.S. Charleston, fishing, boating, bike riding, kiacking, championship tennis facilities, 5 championship golf courses and home of the 2012 PGA Championship, over 50 flights in and out Charleston per day and The Sanctuary Hotel a Conde Naste Top 25 world wide.
We spend a lot of time at the beach. We bike from our property to the beach less than 15 mins away. We also spend a lot of time kayaking in the marshes, riding our bikes and fishing.
As stated in previous reviews, this home is gorgeous and well planned out! We were not disappointed in any of the rooms. We were traveling with another family and had a total of 4 adults with 5 grown kids (ages 23-18). There was plenty of room for us to do our own things w/o being on top of each other. The kitchen is huge and has all the tools needed for just about anything you want to make. I really like having the Utility Room just off the kitchen w/ beach towels, beach bag, and beach blankets. The only thing we wanted but didn't find was Champagne Flutes, that is something they could add. The beds were all comfortable. Not one single complaint from our 5 kids says it all!!! The fact that every bedroom had its own bathroom made it so easy when we were all getting ready to go out. LOVED having the pool! It was a welcome relief from the hot sun after being at the beach or on a nice bike ride. We have stayed on Kiawah for over 15 years and this place was the best yet, we will definitely be back. Helpful Hint: It is a 10 minute bike ride to the beach, so rent a bike w/ a cart. You can put chairs, coolers, and bags on it. I have to add that my experience dealing with the owner was outstanding, and I can ask a lot of questions! Caroline manages the house and she was just as easy to talk to; checked on us regularly and gave good recommendations. Kiawah and the surrounding area are so much fun theres biking, hiking, beach, wildlife, great restaurants, THE SANCTUARY, & shopping just to name a few, they have it all.
Thank you Yvette for a wonderful place to stay on our family trip!
As beautiful as this home looks in the pictures, it is even better in person! No architectural detail was missed. Every surface and finish in the home is of the finest materials; the kitchen and the bathrooms are top notch and absolutely beautiful. Even the laundry room is outstanding. High quality furnishings are throughout the home and each room is thoughtfully and perfectly decorated. The bed linens in every room are of the finest quality and each room has ample pillows and is super comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with high end cutlery, pots and pans and china. The home is very clean and was an absolute pleasure to stay in. The screened in porch and pool were perfect for the hot weather we had. The location is picturesque and serene. We thoroughly enjoyed riding bikes to the beach. This was our first time in Kiawah Island and our vacation is one we will never forget! We feel so fortunate that we found such a fantastic home!
Lovely and spacious home wonderful for a relaxing beach/golf vacation. Beautifully furnished and very clean. Kitchen well stocked with high end items. It was perfect for 4 couples. Great deck and and screened porch with pool for group gathering. Area has fantastic walking/biking trails. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Close enough to Charleston for day trips. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
We brought our family to Kiawah for Thankgiving this year and it was perfect. This house was so comfortable and well equipped. Kiawah had lots of fun Thanksgiving and Christmas events and the Island is so pretty. It was very relaxing and wonderful.
This house is amazing. If you haven't already visited the Charleston area, you need to go. And when you do, choose this house on Kiawah Island.
We picked this up in an auction and boy did we "win". The house has everything you could want. It is comfortable and more than well appointed. Owners were amazingly gracious and easy to coordinate with. It is a vacation home that is furnished better and more tastefully than the finest homes in the country.
We played the finest golf courses, the ladies walked to the Spa at the Sanctuary (resort). We ate at amazing restaurants. We went on bike rides, we were active, we relaxed...it was terrific. If you are going to visit this part of the country, look no further. Enjoy, you can thank me later.
This home is absolutely beautiful and well maintained and it definitely exceeded our expectations. It was truly a blessing to be able to find such a wonderful home that also accommodated one of our family members who needs the assistance of a walker. The elevator worked perfectly and the easy access to the pool was so convenient. I would highly recommend this home to everyone.
