My husband and I moved to Israel from the United States in 1986. I am from Brooklyn, New York and my husband is from Houston Texas . We feel very priveleged and lucky to be living in Israel. We love it. We bought this apartment to rent to tourists visiting Jerusalem to help support our oldest son who is married and studying.

The location is very central and within walking distance to many tourist sites and shopping, and cafes. We love to stay in the apartment ourselves when it is not booked. It is near the Western Wall and the Old City of Jeusalem. It is also close to many Christian holy sites. It is walking distance to the downtown /city center area where you can shop or find a place to eat. There are many options for eating ranging from salads, falafel, shwarma, pizza, frozen yogurt, burgers and elegant restaurants where you can order a gourmet meal.
What makes this Apartment unique
I first fell in love with the view. The view is really special. I started appreciating the location with time when I understood how close it was to the Western Wall and to the Old City and the City Center.

Good location but hosts could be more flexible and generous
Hosts were unwilling to modify our reservation at all, so be 100% sure of your plans before booking (we paid for an extra night we didn't use). Walking distance to Old City and to Machane Yehudah so very convenient. Apartment was clean but photos make it look nicer than it is. Laundry powder included but not shampoo. Shower great but drainage inadequate. Constant noise of kids in the building but no street noise. Double bed was set up as two singles.
We could not have asked for a better location! The view from our balcony was breathtaking. Took beautiful pictures of sunrise. We were a few minutes from the Old City, Mamila mall, Mahane Yehuda market. & restaurants. Ann was available & responsive to our needs. We were 2 adults & 3 children & were able to stay very comfortably. We had a wonderful week!
Easy Location to get to the Old City
The apartment was just a block & a half from the New Gate and 2 and a half from the Jaffa Gate. The paid parking is just across the street and easy to get to. Neighborhood store is just a couple of blocks with all the necessities.
Called Ann on arrival and she walked me thru finding the apartment and location of local groceries. Great location.
Excellent location, responsive owners
The previous reviews were exactly right — the location of this apartment is impossible to beat. We were in easy walking distance of most of the places that we wanted to see. The farthest we walked to was the Israel Museum (2 miles), and that was only because we wanted to enjoy the weather. We came back by public transit, and it was a very easy trip. It was an easy walk to the Mamilla mall, the Old City, the groceries and restaurants on Jaffa Street, and the Mahane Yehuda market. The accommodations were very comfortable, and there was plenty of room for the 3 of us. We had a bit of trouble with the water heater, but once we actually paid attention to the clearly-written directions, all was wonderful. Ann & Shimon provided all of the basics that we needed (laundry detergent, etc.), and plenty of storage room for our stuff. Whenever we are able to return to Jerusalem, this apartment will be our first choice.
Wonderful and TOP location
The apartment is located steps from the old city f Jerusalem which afforded me the opportunity to visit it daily.
We travelled with our 4 children and had plenty of space.
The washer/dryer was a terrific benefit when travelling with kids.
The owner responds to emails and questions pretty quickly and is quite detailed and organized.
The neighbors are quiet and seemed to keep a distance.
Another beautiful feature is the balcony which faces the old city- you can watch the sun rise and set over the temple mount.
Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable experiance.
Great Location, Very Clean and Comfortable Apartment
My wife, son and I really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The apartment is a short walk away from the New Gate and Jaffa Gate to the Old City. A short walk through Safra Square leads you to many restaurants and shopping, as well as the tram, along Jaffa. It was the perfect base for our exploration of all of the sites of the city.
We had no troubles entering the apartment with the code provided and needed no assistance from the owner. The clothes washer and seperate dryer were a gift since the weather was hot. The air con works when needed, although the apartment was shady enough to stay relatively cool during the day while we were out.
The terrace had a great view of the Dome of the Rock and Mount of Olives. The apartment is located in a religiously conservative neighborhood. Most of the people we encountered preferred to keep to themselves'; although we would have liked to have had a little more small talk with our neighbors we respect their wishes and it did not detract at all from our stay.
The beds were comfortable and showers worked great.
The apartment is not much to look at from the outside. Inside it was well furnished and comfortable. Don't let the appearance worry you.
We definitely recommend both our hosts and the apartment.
Our apartment is in a perfect location for a visitor to Jerusalem. It is walking distance to the Old City of Jerusalem where there are holy sites for both Jews and Christians respectively. It is also a 5 minute walk to the downtown or city center neighborhood where there are lots of stores to shop in and great places to eat. You can find Israeli fast food like falafel and shwarma or elegant dining in a fancy restaurant. It is also only two blocks away from the outdoor Mamilla Promenade which has fantastic shopping,restaurants and cafes.
The new light rail stops only one block from our building so you can hop on and ride around the city seeing all the sights. There are also many bus lines running near the apartment so it is easy to get wherever you need to go on public transportation.
If you are renting a car there is an outdoor parking lot which is located one block from the building and they are reasonable and give weekly and daily rates.
