We started traveling to tropical locations several years ago for Christmas after we lost both of my husbands parents. Of all of the islands we have visited, we fell in love with Puerto Rico. There are so many things to do here and the locals are so friendly. We can return time and time again and still find new things to do.

Why Amber Jackson chose Mata de Plátano

We chose this property first and foremost for its location. Luquillo has some of the best beaches in Puerto Rico and we have a front row seat! We didn't want a condo where we had to rely on the HOA to do the repairs, so we opted for a house. The town is located within 15 minutes of so many attractions such as the rainforest, the marina, and so many other things to do!

What makes this House unique

Spending the day on the beach? With this property you can take a quick trip back to the house to use the restroom, re-stock your drink supply, grab something for the kids, or get some snacks all while still being able to keep an eye on your 'place' on the beach! We are also located very close to several local attractions. It serves as a great hub for the activity seeking family or a perfect relaxing location for those who just want to relax on the beach or in a hammock!
