Owners Barb and Steve are retired teachers. We purchased the Gladstone guest house from Barb's grandmothers estate. Twin Oaks has been a labor of love and a place we hope to someday retire. We love to travel, sail, and ski.(Photo from recent visit to Peru). In recent years we have traveled to Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Eastern Europe, Iceland, Norway, and Denmark. The world is beautiful but not more beautiful than Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Last winter we visited the ice caves near Trenary. They were amazing! Someday we would like to visit all the waterfalls in the U.P. Last summer we went to Isle Royal, which is a beautiful island in Lake Superior.
Owner purchased this House in 1999
Why Owner chose Gladstone
Twin Oaks is across the street from the Gladstone City Park with great views and access to Little Bay De Noc off Lake Michigan. It is very family friendly! Location-Location-Location! As a child Barb helped her grandmother take care of the cabins that were next door. The rooms in Twin Oaks Guest House were also rented out as a part of grandma's business. Barb and Steve are the 3rd generation to share this special property.
What makes this House unique
Twin Oaks has the charm of a 1930's guest house with the conveniences of a high end resort. Large spaces are found throughout the house where friends and family can gather to share rest and recreation. The house has the original kitchen sink and all the original light fixtures. Updating was carefully done to restore the traditional feeling. It is our hope that our guests will find the peace and joy you have earned throughout your working weeks. Extremely clean standards are expected from our maintenance staff. New patio and air conditioning have been added for your comfort.

This was our second stay in as many years and we will be back every year that we can. House is in a perfect location, very well maintained, and very comfortable to stay in.
Large home, beautiful view
We really enjoyed our stay at Twin Oaks! The view of the bay is beautiful; we enjoyed watching all the ice fishermen! Clean, cozy rooms. Kitchen with all you could need. Beautifully renovated bathrooms. Having laundry in-house was super helpful for our family and messy baby. Must try Swedish Pantry and The Stonehouse for dining. Adorably decorated home... we can't wait to come back to visit!
Really enjoyed our time. The house is great. Plenty of room, very comfortable and great location. Weather got cool towards the end of our stay but the home was always a warm and comfortable retreat. Would highly recommend this home to anyone!
This cottage has a lot of character. It's like visiting your family.Spacious, but still cozy. There were 7 of us,plenty of room for everyone's space,my favorite was the porch.Nice beach and playground across the street There are only a few stairs into the house and two bedrooms and 1 1/2 bath on the first floor
We love this place!
This is our second stay at Twin Oaks. We will return every opportunity we have. It is clean and in a perfect location to enjoy the beach, walking trails and Kids' Kingdom. The bathroom that was added on second floor since our last visit was a wonderful and unexpected addition. We also rented Little Bay Getaway which is just two doors down for some of our family. This worked great. Everything about Twin Oaks is delightful!
Our family had such a wonderful time. Family of 8 was very comfortable and the house was amazing. Perfect layout and location. Will definitely be back year after year!
The City of Gladstone has a Yeiiow Bike Program, where guests can check out a bike at several locations, and use the bike for the day FREE.
