Adorable Fisherman's Cottage

  • 4 of 5

This was a great deal. Small - but it was just the two of us. Best points: lots of light, lots of extra dishes, pots, pans in the kitchen. Very clean. There isn't a beach at the cottage, just a dock, but the beach is a 3 minute walk. Easy to get to. Quiet neighborhood. Would love to return.

Very charming cottage and relaxing vacation with friends!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was in great condition and very clean! We were very impressed that they had everything there that provided the comforts of home from the kitchen utensils to the laundry room to the wide variety of movies to choose from when it rained. The bed was very comfortable and my 8 months old daughter appreciated the use of the air conditioner at night. We loved sitting on the docks at sunset and the yard space was great to hang out on in the evenings. The neighborhood was very quiet and the access to the beach was nice even though we never did go swimming. The only downside aside from all the rain that we had was that there are not a lot of attractions nearby. We had to get in the car every time we wanted to do something other than go in the paddle boat or hang out at the cottage. I think the cottage more than made up for having to drive around though. We were able to find enough to do to make it exciting and relaxing at the same time. We were even able to get pizza and wings delivered one night so we didn't have to leave at all. All in all it was a great vacation and thanks for letting us borrow your cottage for the week!

Clean little cottage right on the lake

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was clean and neat with enough space for my husband and myself and my 7 year old son. I grew up right around the area and it was a very nice way to revisit my childhood hometown.

Nice cottage, not more

  • 3 of 5

Pros: cottage is very clean, no smell, fully equipped kitchen.

Cons: Probably we were not so lucky with the weather and there was freezing cold in the lower level and hot in the loft in warm days. We tried to find instruction how to use a gas fireplace with no results. The same experience was for food waste disposer - no any instruction how to use it. So we collected the food waste for the whole week.

There is no light on the porch, sunsets are early now so sometimes we returned home in full darkness.

The lake is not suitable for swimming at all - for those who is thinking about it. Although it is called Sandy Bottom there is no sand, just the soil with seaweed.

And the last but not least - the fire pit is placed on a slope. Have you ever tried to sit around the fire on the hill slope?! I wish you good luck,

But anyway we spend good time in the cottage and found the entertainment for us. Thank to hosts

Owner's Response: We do appreciate our guests giving reviews as we want everyone to have the best we have to offer. We have our phone numbers listed in the cabins at all times as well as having brochures on hand so guests can contact us easily. We provide a garbage can for each site as well as pick up service even if called to pick up sooner than scheduled. The loft comes equipped with a vent window as well as air pumps to vent air from the loft to the lower level. The cabin has two heating units for the downstairs, an air conditioner for the main bedroom and a gas stove in the living room equipped with a metal tag chained in the operating section of the stove with instructions. We are very much into cooking so a dishwasher and disposal is provided with the appropriate electrical switches and buttons to turn off and on. The cabin comes with two entrances both lighted with switches inside each door as per code. We use yellow bug lights during the warmer weather. Our community's private beach has sand on the beach and a natural shale bottom. Sandy Bottom public beach has a fairly large light sandy beach as well as a sandy bottom to the lake all marked out with a life guard. And last but not least -- there is a fire pit on the lake front as well as a temporary one in the lawn while the grounds are having updated drainage installed. We will be posting new pictures as soon as the work is completed. We do appreciate the input so that we can provide the best accommodations possible for your lake experience.

Beautiful Escape Home

  • 5 of 5

Lauren and I had a super lovely time at this cabin. If you are looking to stay at the Honeoye area, this spot is perfect, right by the water in a quiet lake community. The house is immaculate, clean, airy and roomy, all equipment seems to be brand new , kitchen fully equipped. Would certainly consider coming back!
