Gallery 1 is in a meticulously restored century old building close to downtown and minutes from the subway (Metro), the Atwater Market and the historic Lachine Canal. An ideal home away from home for anyone that wants to be in one of the most dynamic neighbourhood in Montreal.

This 1 bedroom ground floor unit is bright and sleeps 2 to 4. Finished with hardwood floors, it is spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated with original art, high quality furnishings, linens & appointments throughout. This unit is handicapped accessible w 36” doors & only one step. It features a master bedroom with a queen size sleigh bed and the den has a sofa with a double pull out bed. The den can be closed off from the kitchen and dining room. There is a flat screen TV and a collection of DVD’s from our library of over 100 movies for all ages. We also offer cable TV and high speed wifi internet available throughout the apartment.

The bathroom has a deep tub that you can use to relax after a good day of sightseeing. In addition, there is a utility room with a front loading washer & dryer. The dining room is beside the all equipped kitchen. You also have indoor access to a very large deck with two patio sets and two BBQ’s on the second floor (Gallery 2 shares the deck with you). The deck is next to a beautiful rooftop garden. All our units also come stocked with books and board games. Called the GALLERY 1 because this is 1 of 3 units in the building that is located next to Jane's private art gallery & studio.

Our other units in the same building are Gallery 2 (#213798) & Gallery 3 (#193135)

Good food is just steps away at the deluxe IGA grocery store or the delicious Atwater market where you can savour gourmet foods, pastries and deli style food. If you prefer to eat out, we are a few minutes walking from some of Montreal’s top restaurants (Joe Beef, Tuck Shop, H4C, Smoking Vallee, CHO, McKiernans, Magnans Tavern) or if you prefer a drink in a hip setting there is La Drinkerie, Burgundy Lion, Grumman 78, Ludger.

Aside from fine dining, there are many things to do in this area. Depending on the season, you could catch a famous Canadians hockey game at the Bell Center, go rock climbing at Allez-Up indoor rock climbing gym or rent a kayak and paddle on the Lachine Canal.

You can also walk or cycle on the Lachine Canal bike path which is just 15 minutes by bike to the Old Port and Old Montreal. Note that you can leave your bikes at home because we provide 4 adult bikes free of charge with helmet and locks based on a first come first serve system. Finally, for small children and family there is a nice park with playground and splash pad just one block away.

Why Etienne Masse chose Montreal

We love this area, it is vibrant and interesting. The Atwater market is a great place to have a nice coffee and a dessert on weekends and the Canal Lachine area is a daily source of enjoyment in the summer. Great bike paths and walking areas that lead to the Old Port of Montreal.

Good restaurants and we are very close to the subway system (called Metro) downtown reachable in minutes just a couple of station away.

What makes this apartment unique

Proximity to downtown / Old Montreal, walking distance to the Atwater market, Metro (subway) Place St-Henri, grocery store, lot of really good restaurants and nice pubs.

Wonderful Spring Weekend

My wife and I spent three nights in Gallery 1 over a beautiful Spring weekend at then end of April 2017 on our first trip to Montreal. We were able to access the unit easily when we arrived, and found it spacious, bright, and full of comfortable furniture and charming art work. The location in St. Henri was terrific for our getaway, with numerous tasty restaurants within a 5-min walk, as well as a Metro station within 10-mins walk. We were thrilled to take advantage of the bikes that Etienne had available to borrow, the nearby canal bike path, Atwater Market, and the rooftop grills and patio space. The convenience store located across the street on the corner had any item you may want or need for a short vacation. We would highly recommend staying at this property to anyone visiting Montreal.

Surprisingly Beautfiul

Not being familiar with Montreal, we were hesitant in coming to this apartment, which from the outside is quite unassuming. We were thrilled to find it newly renovated and tastefully decorated. The online pictures in this case do not represent the full worth of this apartment. It is spacious, well set-up, close to many restaurants, grocery stores and transportation. We fully appreciated the binder of information from the owner regarding Montreal and local places to consider. We truly enjoyed our time in this space.

Lovely apartment with a ground floor entrance. The kitchen is well equipped, heating is easy to manage, decoration is nice- sufficient to make it home-like, but not overdone with clutter! The location is very convenient for transit, groceries, cafes, etc. The street is very quiet. A lovely stay in an interesting neighbourhood. For us, the only drawback was the down bedding

VERY clean, quiet neighborhood

The apartment was very clean, very well equipped, and close to the Metro

(4-5 minute walk) so easily accessible to everything in Montreal. A 15 minute walk to Marche Atwater for fresh food. Super C grocery store was next to the Market and Saq distributors for wine and any spirit you wanted. Also IGA grocery was nearby, but we did not need to visit it finding everything we needed near Atwater. We did drive to some sites in the city and they were all within 15 minutes from the apartment. The neighborhood was quiet at night and the bed comfortable. I would highly recommend this apartment. We did not see the owners, but he did call the first night to check in on us.
