This beautiful home is the perfect getaway for your family and friends. It is located at the end of a private road with 8 sunny and wooded acres to enjoy. With over 5,000 square feet, the house has spacious areas for gathering both inside and out. We are sure your family will enjoy it as much as our family does!
The kitchen is fully updated with stainless steel appliances and is equipped for cooking, the dining room seats a crowd, and the large fireplace in the living room is a great place to gather in the evenings. The library offers another hideaway with large screen for watching movies. You will want to spend most of your time outside, however, enjoying what has been called 'the best view in Door County' from the large stone patio with gas grill and lots of comfortable seating.
The kids will have fun exploring in the woods and playing games in the yard.
There is a first floor bedroom (full and 2 twins) and bathroom, second floor master bedroom (king) and bathroom, guest bedroom with a queen bed, bunk room with two sets of bunk beds and 'kids' room (full and 2 twins) with 1/2 bath.
You can walk to town to enjoy water sports, shopping, restaurants, or an ice cream cone from Wilson's. Ephraim is conveniently located close to everything Door County has to offer. You will never want to leave!
No smoking or animals are permitted.
After reading the previous reviews I have only more superlatives to add. My family of 7 spent an over-to-quickly week here this summer and enjoyed a perfect family getaway. The house and property exceeded our high expectations. The house is spacious and well appointed. It is perfectly laid out with great sleeping/bathroom accommodation and with a full service kitchen. Everyone had lots of space. The location is another bonus and makes this place a real retreat. Located on the bluffs, it is quiet and very private, but close in proximity to most Door County favorites.
By far, my family's most happy times together were spent on the gorgeous stone patio. We spent hours there- leisurely morning coffee, just hanging out during the day, and in the evening watching sunsets over the waters of Green Bay. There is on the patio a lovely stone fireplace.
This is a premier property and a gem of a place to gather with loved ones. This place is special and captures the essence of Door County's natural beauty. I would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this listing.
If quality time with family and friends in a beautiful spacious home is a goal, this is the place. We escaped the August oven high heat in St Louis to find our own piece of paradise in Door County. At this house location you are in the center of all the popular local attractions. But the house and grounds made it difficult to leave. Sunsets around the outdoor fireplace were where we wanted to be each night. The view of the lake and spacious grounds were like a postcard. The grand-kids played hide and seek in and outside the house and did not seem to miss their electronic toys. Adults had plenty of private places to read and retreat to in this well preserved classic home. Note, this isn’t a fast paced Disneyland type vacation. However, if you’re looking for something more along the lines of the movie, “On Golden Pond” you have found it here! All four generations of my family enjoyed this location destination.
Everything was clean, well maintained and the owner was right on call when we had a minor problem with the grill. She offered plenty of suggestions of where to go in area. We hope to return again some day to this very special place.
Our family has been vacationing in Ephraim for almost 20 years, and we are so happy to have found this beautiful home. We loved our stay so much that we immediately called to reserve it again for next year! The house and grounds are so lovely. We spent much of the week relaxing on the patio--you can't beat the views! The house is spacious and comfortable with lots of great windows. The breezes coming in were wonderful and made for great sleeping. Our large group loves to cook, so the well-stocked kitchen was perfect. We can't wait to go back!
Somehow the photos don't quite do justice to the warmth and comfort that this home offers. The living room, with its cathedral ceiling, fireplace, and stained glass windows is gorgeous, but still inviting. The stone patio with plenty of comfortable seating, and the huge shaded lawn provide amazing views of the lake and wildlife---during our week we saw eagles, pelicans, hummingbirds, deer and wild turkeys. It's perfect for two families---the bedrooms are all in separate parts of the house, so there's a lot of privacy, and the bathrooms are arranged so that each bedroom has easy access. The kitchen is very well stocked with lots of dishes, glassware and silverware, an oversized refrigerator, and a great electric griddle for morning pancakes. For families who vacation the way ours does---relaxing with cocktails and dinner on the patio, curling up with books, biking to town and beach, and watching the glorious sunsets every night, you won't find a better spot.
