About The Owner

I have always loved the Sea of Cortez. My parents visited this area when I was a child and this area has always been a part of my life. In 1985 we had the Casita built and have thoroughly enjoyed and love spending time away from our other life, a great place to run to. This Casita has always been a special place for our family to enjoy. We love the people, friendly smiles, hard-working and humble. Where else can one go and have the shopping come to you. All it takes is a nod yes or not.

We hope you enjoy our little piece of paradise, we know you will:-)

The Owner purchased this condo in 1985

Why The Owner chose Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point)

The nicest Casita on the Beach. Please check the Reviews:-)

What makes this condo unique

There are many things to do. All you have to do is head towards Old Port, the downtown area. Great places to have lunch, I enjoy Flavios, right on the water and a very friendly staff, not to mention great food. Dinner, Friendly Dolphin, Hacienda del Fuente, on the hill at the Lighthouse for great jazz as well, or Casa Capitan. The Latitude 31 is great for a sports bar and good food. You will find your own special places to relax and enjoy.

We had a wonderful weekend in Rocky Point. The casita was perfect everything works great, is well kept up and charming. The beach that it is located on was fun for everyone. I would highly recommend staying here with family or friends. Rocky Point is a great place to escape to to relax and have a quiet weekend.

Relaxing at Las Conchas

  • 5 of 5

Drove for the first time to Puerto Penasco (been there by private aircraft 3 times over the past 10 years) and found the directions provided by Peggy very easy to follow; didn't miss a turn. Though our stay was short, my wife and I found the accommodations to be both comfortable and inviting. We loved the more private beach setting (as compared to Sandy Beach) and its close to town where there are numerous restaurants and great sidewalk shops. Will definitely come back!

Wonderful time in Los Conchas

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a wonderful time. We went to Puerto Penasco for my wife's birthday and couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. Very quiet with practically the whole beach to ourselves. From the condo lanai, you can view both spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Condo is very well maintained and you could tell Peggy is meticulous in the upkeep. Will definitely be back!!

Excellent and Wonderful Time -Very Safe and a Great Romantic or Family Destination

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I both lead hectic business and personal lives (she - surgeon, me high tech management). We also have a rambunctious, bright and ever inquisitive 7 year old daughter. We searched through VRBO to find a suitable and safe place to stay during a long weekend getaway. We came across Peggy's great Casita and after reading a number of reviews about its quaintness and proximity to the beach (right on the sand) and that Las Conchas was a large gated and patrolled community, we elected to go despite much concerns about our safety as expressed by other family members and friends. We chose to listen to some elderly neighbors who have been going to Rocky Point for more than 50 years, "Its safe, clean, fun, and the Mexican's want/need tourist dollars to survive. So booked Peggy's casita and headed south.

Rather than write about the actual condo itself, lots of other reviews about that. I thought it would be helpful to address the safety and logistics for those who may be nervous.

The drive to Rocky Point was without traffic and indeed was very scenic. We like the road less traveled so elected to drive down from Phoenix through Maricopa then over to Gila Bend, then Hwy 85 South through Ajo continuing through Why on down to the border through Organ Pipe National Monument and the last U.S. city Lukeville. A beautiful drive that is highly recommended.

The Mexico border crossing is in Sonotya. There is a border stop. Very informal and relaxed. You do recognize the immediate difference in culture and standard of living. Mexico, at least border towns, is a third world existence. I recommend filling your gas tank in Lukeville, though many have said the gas in Mexico is fine, especially in Rocky Point. The drive from Sonoyta to Rocky Point is a nice and relaxed. Note, the speed limit is in Km/hr so though the numbers sound high, the speed in miles/hr is significantly slower. We obeyed all posted traffic signs.

Las Conchas is on the southern end of Rocky Point. There is a very large sign to turn left as you get well into the the city. Hard to miss. We followed the directions as provided by Peggy and found our way to the Las Conchas community security gate without difficulty. The security personnel were very friendly and helpful. We were issued a pass which we displayed on the dash of our vehicle.

We highly recommend a visit to Rocky Point, a great place to go, and to stay at Peggy's Casita. We had a great time.

Thank you so much for sharing your time and comfort of driving and enjoying the people of Mexico in Puerto Penasco/Las Conchas and helping people who want to visit know the experience of driving and enjoying this area is easy and a wonderful drive and safe. I am so happy you appreciated the Casita, it's colorful pleasant surroundings which you enjoyed with your family. Please come back to your Casita at the beach soon . . . it's waiting for you and the family:-) Again, thank you so much for your time in sharing this for others. Peggy

Great time

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to relax. The beach was very quiet. Water was like glass one day. The casita had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We got breakfast burritos from the vendor. We also got 2 massages. One on the deck listening to the ocean. We are already planning our next getaway. Peggy is very easy to work with. She even sent us a info letter.
