Montreat is a small resort town and home to the Montreat Conference Center. In the winter it is a very quiet and secluded little town. The fall colors of the area make it a perfect destination to enjoy the season and it is 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Summer time is the ultimate family environment with organized activities and groups for kids of all ages. Black Mountain is 3 miles away with restaurants, music venues, and retail. Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore house are a 20 minute drive away.
A big fan of family fun. Happy to share ideas for your vacation in Montreat and the Asheville area. I live close by and will do what I can to make your stay a unique and memorable experience.

My Grandparents ran a boarding house for missionaries so our family has come here for years. My parents have turned that house into their home in Montreat and I consider many of the other residents (my father's childhood friends) to be my family!
Love this town!~
Let me share it with you!~
The seclusion and beauty is unsurpassed in the off season. In the summer, it is one of the few towns you can still send your children out the door in the morning and not worry about them all day long. Park your car in the driveway and enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, paddle boats, and square dancing; all just a short walk away. The wrap around porch and screened in porch provide the perfect place to cook out and relax.
The house is all you could ask for. It is far enough from Asheville to appreciate quiet time but close enough to see the places that you want to visit. I could have never left Black Mountain and been perfectly happy. The owner is great and extremely accommodating.
Great house for my family of 4. Plenty spacious. Very clean. Well stocked. Quiet location.
Perfect spot for Montreat visit! Clean with all modern conveniences. Very comfortable for family of 5.
Perfect! Very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. Great location for Montreat!
My wife and I finished our conference at Montreat on Friday at noon of Labor Day Weekend, 2013. We then transferred our stuff to the Annex. It is a lovely, well equipped and furnished little place. My two grown daughters, who have spent several summers at Montreat for youth conferences, came down, along with my son-in-law. We had a great time together - the accommodations were perfect!
The Annex was a pleasant surprise in that the town of Montreat was a perfect place for a "get away" but still close to many things to do. The Annex was clean and well maintained and the owner was so helpful with giving information that would familiarize us to the location. I also felt if we needed anything we could always get in touch and it would be taken care of. Fortunately, there was nothing that we ever needed. This is a hidden gem that I hope to return to one day.
