surpassed our expectations!
We have had a beautiful stay in the Happy flipper. The service provided was excellent and we were greated by a friendly home manager and a clean home when we arrived. We had a hard time taking the kids with us to go to the many different things the area has to offer because they didnt want to leave the pool, which is a good sign. The house had a very spacious layout and will definitely be a destination to return to!
Wonderful home away
Lovely home - clean and comfortable! Enjoyed waking up to sunshine over the canal. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and enjoyed a couple of days kayaking down the canal. The home and area were close to so many other beautiful cities - visited Ft Meyers Beach, Naples, Sanibel, Captiva, Sarasota and the artsy town of Matlacha on Pine Island. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely do it again.
Nice enough house, pool heater quit after first day, and furnace didn’t work.
My three children had to stare at a pool all day that they couldn’t swim in because the pool heater quit after the first day, no repair person was sent until 7 days later and our stay was almost over. We could of had a comparable house for half the price without a pool, so even a token sum for a refund would have been nice but the owners refused. They just lied to us and said it was to cold for the pool to warm up , but the pool repair man told us it wasn’t working. The beds are very uncomfortable, the fans don’t work, the lounge chairs were broken, no propane in bbq, and they charged us 250.00 US for electricity!!!’ I highly recommend finding a different lodging for your southwest Florida vacation!!!
We’re very sorry that we couldn’t meet your expectations.
Of course it is disappointing when going to Florida and experience really low temperatures, even freeze warnings were sent out. Unfortunately, during your stay we have experienced a historic temperature drop. During this period it was very difficult and expensive to keep a swimming pool at a comfortable temperature so that your children could swim; luckily they could play in the warm Jacuzzi. The costs charged to you was the electricity that was actually consumed minus the electricity allowance (which was almost half the amount that you mentioned in your review), entirely supported by an official print-out of the electricity supplier so completely transparent. Guests can decide for themselves to heat the pool. We do not calculate a standard daily rate in advance. You indicated that you wanted money back and otherwise would post a very terrible review. With this approach, you have posted a review that damaged our reputation and unfortunately not reflects reality. Sorry, we are always open to reason but not for a threat. We do our utmost best to serve our guests but there are limits. Regarding the Pool Heater: We placed a service call to the manufacturer to check the heater when we heard about the problem. We also asked our Pool Technician what the reason could be for the failure, she indicated Low Outside Temperatures, the same thing they experienced on most houses at that time. The manufacturer wasn’t able to response immediately because of the holidays but came out 1.5 days after you reported your concerns. When they checked the heater, they found no malfunctions.
Wonderful Holiday Escape
Stayed at this lovely home over Christmas for a gathering of family from across the country. My husband and I along with our four adult 20-something daughters (plus two boyfriends!) enjoyed everything about this home. The owners were excellent to work with and very flexible in accommodating our requests. We were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with a nice note and bottle of wine. The property manager was also amazing, She was thorough in showing us around the house and provided us with recommendations to help us enjoy the local scene. We really appreciated her responsiveness when we had questions.
The home is well appointed and very spacious. The pool and spa area were well used during our stay as we were fortunate to soak up the 80 degree weather (having left the northeast 15 degree cold front we were experiencing). During our stay we rented a boat from Mannis Boat Rentals, which we would recommend. We spent two days island hopping between Captiva and Sanibel and were able to enjoy some stops in Ft. Myers Beach which is a cute little town with shopping, restuarants, bars and beach. A few of the places we'd recommend locally are Ford's Garage, the tiki hut bar at Cape Coral Beach, List Distillery, Point Ybel Brewing Company, and Ichy Yummy (which offers a unique all-you-can eat, made-to-order Asian fusion menu).
We really loved our time at Happy Flipper and would recommend it for your next vacation. Thank you for opening up your hope and helping us to make lasting memories!
Nice short getaway.
Place was very nice. Wish there were a few more “supplies” available. It seems folks before us or cleaning folks used up all TP, Papertowels, garbage bags, etc. We purchased these items and left for next guests... hope they do the same. I know we are to buy these types of things, but there are usually some left... was surprised there was nothing, so for our 4 days, we supplied quite a bit for the next guests...
Great house! Lots of privacy.
The house was beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The pool was enjoyed by all. I would definitely recommend.
Cape Coral's tropical waterfront wonderland, also known as the Venice of America, glimmers with 400 miles (approx. 650 km) of fresh and salt water canals and is the best place to relax, to do sports or to learn about 'The Real Florida'. Cape Coral, cradled between Caloosahatchee River - belonging of the Intracoastal Waterway - and the Gulf of Mexico is sheltered by a string of Florida’s barrier islands and well known as a boater's and golfer's paradise. You will find relaxation and unique attractions for your perfect vacation in your tropical back yard: endless beaches and untouched nature. Unique islands, like the “Ten Thousand Islands“ - most of them uninhabited - as well as Sanibel and Captiva Island with excellent shelling beaches, stretch along the Gulf Coast directly in front of Cape Coral. This area is home to dolphins, endangered or threatened species as there are manatees, gopher tortoises, burrowing owls, pelicans and a lot of other water birds.
