The 'Bamboo Hideaway' has an excellent ocean view. It is situated close to an old stand of large bamboo, hence the name. Entry and parking are private and at ground level.

This accommodation offers slate floors, granite counter tops, King bed, full bath, cooking facilities, refrigerator, and kitchen island. A large screened lanai encloses the dining and lounge area with a full 10ft.sliding glass door to the lanai and two very comfortable lounges. Free laundry facilities are available in the garage. Shopping is close as well as 12 min. to ocean snorkeling and kayaking. Coffee and macadamia farms to visit.

A short 10 min. drive will take you down to the beach, Capt. Cook monument & Place of Refuge. Great snorkeling and kayaking.

The accommodations are compact but well designed, very pleasant decor.

There are several very good restaurants and a grocery store within one mile drive.

This is a smoke free environment for your enjoyment. Sorry no pets.

About Nancy

We moved to the Big Island in 1987 and built our home in Captain Cook in1988.

We added our two vacation rentals on our 1 1/4 property in 2000.

Greg is a realtor with Clark Realty Corp. and I ( Nancy ), manage our two vacation rentals. We have one dog. His name is Peaberry and is 5.

Along with a Siamese cat named Mr. Mow, who is 13.

Notes:
We are located 1100 ft above sea level with Mauka, Makai (mountain-ocean )breezes which allows us to not need air conditioning. We have ceiling fans, and a tower fan for those unexpected still days or nights to move the air. The unit also has a security screen door so that you can enjoy the breeze all night with security.

Relaxing, wonderful view , clean and quiet

absolut suitable place and quiet

comfortable bed and furniture inside

special lanai with table and lounge chairs and wonderful view

good bathroom and nicely equipped kitchen

stayed at the downstairs unit, The location is perfect for privacy, peace and centrally located

i arrived at the evening and it was not easy to find the downstairs unit (on the basis of your description)

Loved the view!

The location is where we like and the view can't be beat. The driveway like many in the area is steep and tight but it brings you to a nice oasis of lush plants and flowers. The lower bamboo hideaway is quiet and the nature abundant. You are close to the nearby market and plenty of places to eat and see. If we come back again we would definitely ask about staying here again.

ホストの干渉も感じず気ままに過ごせます。

コーヒー農園や美味しいレストランが近くに多数あり便利な上、コナビッレジまで車で10分くらい。

慣れないケーブルテレビの操作に苦労したのが玉に傷。

All that we expected

If you're looking for peace and quiet and close enough for everything on the Kona coast then this is a great choice. The altitude makes for a wonderful view and cooler than being in the more touristy areas. Relative to the resorts, it's an hour closer to Volcanoes National Park. The studio is well furnished, and has better cooking capability than expected. The only caution is that the Captain's Suite is right above so hope that no "elephants" are staying!

Paradise found :)

We loved staying at the bamboo hideaway. We had everything we needed: kitchen, bathroom, comfy bed and quiet, peaceful surroundings too. Greg was so thoughtful and showed us around and recommended some local beaches. Truly a great property, one I would certainly return to.
