Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Quiet, Convenient Area (Sleeps 5)

Located less than 1.5 miles from the Bass lake dam and boat launch, and at approximately 3,500 feet, this tidy 1,500 square foot 2 bedroom 2 bath manufactured home on over an acre of wooded land offers the guest a quiet and secluded mountain view location, yet is two minutes from Bass Lake, 5 minutes to the town of North Fork, approximately 20 minutes to Oakhurst, and about 35 minutes to the Yosemite National Park Entrance.

This is the lowest priced rental in the area and offers excellent privacy compared to any nearby hotel. There is a creek and small lake (Manazanita Lake) less than 5 minutes away, and the air quality is great, with deep blue skies most of the time. The home is located in a 'no hunting' zone. Comes with all appliances, including washer/dryer. Has TV/VCR/DVD. No cable internet service (cell phone internet service works). We have never found this to be a detriment, as this is an outdoors paradise, and most people enjoy getting away from the busy life here. Good cell phone service.

This home is ideal for for couples or a small family (up to 5 people, no exceptions). It features a full length deck with terrific views. Ideal location for winter relaxation or summer recreation, and offers boating, kayaking, mountain biking and motorcycle riding within minutes. Occasional deer and wild turkey sightings on property. Keep in mind, this is a manaufactured or 'mobile' home, which makes no difference to most people given the spacious layout, large deck, ammenities, and beautiful surroundings. Why Jeff or Lisa Gymer chose California

To me, this property is in an ideal location. It is likely the least expensive place at/near Bass Lake. it is 1.3 miles from the Bass Lake dam and boat launch. It is near restaurants (Millers Landing, the Forks, North Fork restaurants) and is 20 minutes from Oakhurst for big city conveniences, yet is tucked in a quiet culdesac with few neighbors, but in an area with other homes. It backs to Forest service land and has great views. If you are familiar with Bass Lake, this is the quieter side of the lake....more space, homes not packed in next to each other, no loud parties, etc.

We had a great time, it was very peaceful.

We spent a lot of time exploring the surroundings, less than 5 minutes away from bass lake. The owner of the property was very nice, helpful and professional. We actually arrived hours after our set time and he was okay with that.

We definitely recommend it.

Clean, roomy, well equipped home

  • 4 of 5

Had a very pleasant stay here over our Christmas weekend visiting our family in Coarsegold. Very close to Bass lake in a quiet, wooded, small housing community. The outside scared me a little at first but the inside is very clean and cozy. Since we showed up late at night when we woke up the next morning to let the dogs out to potty there was a little fenced area which was so great for the dogs. Overall a really nice stay and I'll definitely check in again. Thanks Jeff!!!

Rustic cabin-feel mobile home

  • 4 of 5

This is a 1970's era mobile home. The inside is spacious and nicer than the outside appearance. It is in a wooded neighborhood setting. From the deck you see the wooded, sloping 5 acres that it sits on. You also see pieces of about 4 other houses, and can sometimes hear their dogs bark (not a lot). There is a house right next door, but the way the houses are situated, you really can only see it from the deck, off to the side. It is a peaceful setting, but not completely private. There is a small yard just off the deck that is almost completely fenced in. Using pieces of wood and chicken wire that were stacked near the shed and an x-pen from home, I was able to rig up a secure yard for my small dogs and secure the deck, so they had some freedom. We were unable to use the deck in the evening due to mosquitoes (wooded setting). It was nice in the morning, though.

There are 2 bedrooms, one king bed, one queen bed, and a double bed in the family room area. There is lots of closet space, but about 4 hangers in the whole house. Stop at the Dollar Store in town on your way in and buy some hangers. TV in the living room, but no cable or wifi. There is a stash of movies. Think of it as a rustic cabin. You are not paying for a 4 star hotel here. The master bathroom door did not shut, but I found a stool to block it closed.

Our GPS kept wanting to route us in long, nonsensical routes. I was wishing for some real, old-fashioned paper maps of the area. I found some touristy maps, but no real good ones. I would suggest obtaining a Rand-McNally type map of the area before coming. I saw some reviews mentioning the driveway being difficult to maneuver - you have to do some backing up, but we had no trouble.

I think it took about 1 1/2 hours to get to Yosemite. I am writing this review a few months late, so I don't remember exactly. It is a pleasant drive. We drove along the lake to get to the highway.

The owner was responsive, honest, and easy to deal with. Deposit was credited very promptly.

Cozy and comfortable hidden in the woods.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice. Not the cutest decor but it was fine. Had all the amenities we needed. Love the enclosed patio and Lil yard for the dogs. Short drive to the lake. Great time!!! Don't depend on GPS once you get into neighborhood. Makes you turn 1 street too early.

Clean and spacious

We chose to stay here because of the reviews

These good reviews are earned. You could see a lot of effort in the cleanliness of the property

My wife had left her earrings behind there they took the time to mail them back to us

We made the right choice staying here

Thank you.!!!!'
