About John Cooksey

Annie and John Cooksey met at church camp and 1985 and fell in love a year later. We have been married for 18 years. John is a video producer and owner of EliteVideo dot com a video training company, Annie homeschools but years back she was 'Sparkle the letter clown' for the PBS series 'The Letter People' We moved from Connecticut in 1991 for the nicer climate, fresh air, and friendly people.

John Cooksey purchased this house in 2008

Why John Cooksey chose Arkansas

We have had success with our first vacation rental here in town and we were looking along time for a secluded private house with a nice yard and plenty of parking that was also close to downtown.

When we found this house bordering on the National park with trails 200 feet away and no houses on either side of it, we knew this would be the one.

What makes this house unique

Quiet and peaceful. Secluded. Hiking and the pool. Nice level yard. Very Close to the historic downtown. 1 mile from Park Island Market and Park Ave Bistro. No charge for mountain bikes (s) National Park Trails across the street. Very quiet. Fenced back Yard. Privacy. No street lights, and almost no traffic, give you that camping feeling of yesteryear.

Large older home close to Hot Springs

  • 5 of 5

The owner was very accommodating, he even had soap for the clothes washer and for the dishes. He was able to tell us what things were happening in the Hot Springs area that might interest us. The house is older but very large, the pool was fun, the hot tub good, games & even putt putt golf in the back yard. We felt safe at the house and had a great time.

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved this house!! Took my daughter's and grandbabies here for a family vacation. We stayed at the house the entire time and enjoyed every minute of it. It was great to spend quality time with my family. Everyone enjoyed the pool, hot tub, fenced in backyard full of activities, large family room and cooking in the kitchen. John was a great host! We did not want to leave and we are already wanting to plan a trip back for next summer!

Nice house and the pool was fantastic!

  • 4 of 5

The house was older, nothing fancy. The salt water pool was my favorite. It was clean and my family had a lot of fun. The mini golf was really outdated but my kids enjoyed it. I think the beds were all full sized. The laundry room had no ventilation and was extremely hot and humid but the washer and dryer were newer and worked fabulously. The house was very spacious. I do not recommend vacationing in Hot Springs on a holiday. It was very crowded and made travel difficult. Overall, I would definitely go back to this house, I just wish it were in a different town.

Great Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We just finished our stay at this house in Hot Springs. The entire family (6 adults & 5 kiddos) had a wonderful time. The place is an older home that has had a lot of renovation. It is very secluded and has numerous things for the family to do. The grandkids particularly liked the putt putt golf and of course the POOL. It is a great location that is such a short drive to a lot of the attractions in Hot Springs but you could also just "chill" here all weekend. Everyone loved it! Thank you Mr. Cooksey!

It was very clean.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time especially outside where we did all of our eating. There is more than enough room for all 8 of us to sit down and eat comfortably. The house was very spacious which gave everyone room to go off in their own rooms at night.

Overall the house was alot of fun and we would do it again if we decide to go see hot springs again.
