This is one of the finest 1 bedroom condos in the village of Snowshoe.  Enjoy the convenience of taking the elevator to the slopes and having your own ski locker adjoining the hearth room.  At the end of the day, relax on one of the largest decks overlooking the village.  Condo has a full equipped kitchen for dining in, or walk to the many restaurants in the village.  Beautiful furnishings with custom wood trim and copper accents throughout the unit.  All bedding is upgraded above Snowshoe specs for a comfortable night sleep, and lighting has been upgraded.  Some other features include high speed Internet, DVD player, gas fireplace, humidifier... Highland House has laundry facilities, outdoor hot-tub, and exercise room. Split Rock pools is a 2 minute walk through the village. Recent upgrades include a flat screen tv in bedroom, pottery barn lighting and new berber carpeting. Truly one of the best 'gold' rated properties.

Check-In time is after 5:00pm on the day of arrival and checkout time is 11:00 am on the day of departure. Fees are inclusive of cleaning upon departures for all parties. Housekeeping also provides linens, towels, paper towels and dish washing liquids. 12% West Virginia tax is added to all rental totals. Renting directly from us saves 15% - 25% of standard Snowshoe rates as we are passing on the management fee savings to you. However, the greatest plus is the superior accomodations to most on Snowshoe's rental program.

Non-refundable rental deposit of 25% is due along with rental application upon booking. Balance is due 30 days prior to arrival and is non-refundable.

Even with a few problems, it is still one of our favorites!

We like this unit very much and have stayed in it before. It has a large deck that overlooks the plaza, and there is easy access to the communal hot tub. We had issues with our room keys not working (multiple times). Although this was not the home owners fault, a credit for the inconvenience would have been nice. A few little things were missing this time like soap in the bathroom and salt in the kitchen and the place wasn't immaculate like it was before. Despite all this, the owner is easy to work with and I would definitely stay there again!

I do apologize for the inconvenience with the lock and Snowshoe has since replaced the entire mechanism based on the problems. It is always frustrating when it is something outside our control. I have also discussed with houisekeeping to make sure soap is in the bathroom. My guess is someone packed up the condiments we leave for guests when they left and I will make sure to take some up when we visit this fall. The Newcomb's

Ridiculously Perfect

After searching Snowshoe for rentals, I found this little place right in the heart of the village. My sons and I planned on heading up for a few days of downhill mountain biking. My only snag was checking in, which was a bit confusing during the off season. That's a Snowshoe issue though, NOT this property's issue.

This place was perfect. Great location, all of the comforts of a home-away-from-home, super easy access to the trails, the MAC, and Starbucks. The balcony was great to watch the village square and even have a nice little corner view of the mountains on the western side. Letcher responded quickly to emails and answered all of my questions promptly. I hope we left a good impression with him, as we'd like to do this trip annually. Thanks for the great stay sir...

We thoroughly enjoyed the Condo and that Wonderful deck! The Bike races were right below us! Everything worked well in condo. Clean!!! Would stay here again !!!! Location is right in the heart of the village. We had lots of rain and fog, so we were happy the condo was so nice!

Great place to stay

This room was very clean and had what you would need. There were even some issues with the lock and keys (Snowshoe's issue) and the owner was great and able to try to help us get the help we needed. You cannot beat the balcony that looks over the village. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everything was perfect.

Stayed for a week for a family ski trip. Everything was great. Loading and unloading everything into/from the condo was very easy through the "tunnel" with luggage carts provided. Plenty of restaurants just steps away. Grocery store a short walk up the street. Parking across the street. Ski locker downstairs just a few feet from the slope - very convenient. Gas fireplace was super. Plenty of kitchen items provided, all you need is the food. Bedroom mattress was very good. Bathroom is nice and big. We will stay again!

Decent place but the fold out bed had crumbs (and a half-eaten dog biscuit). The cleaning crew did not clean under the master bed. Also, b/c we booked directly w/ the owner, we had to pay extra to utilize both the pool and entertainment center.

Owner's Response: James - sorry for the cleaning as we really strive to keep the place up. I will pass on to my cleaning crew as they should be opening and cleaning the pullout, and better attention should be taken although I know it is hard with the limited space under the master bed. Car: not necessary

Highland House is located in the heart of Snowshoe Village and on the slopes for direct access during winter skiing. There are numerous activities in summer and winter, with a lake for fishing and Cass Railroad only 30 minutes away. % restaurants located in the village along with Starbucks. Snowshoe offers shuttle buses (every 15 minutes) to Silver Creek ski area and snow tubing location. Park your car when you get here as you will not need it unless you plan to make a trip to Cass or go antiquing in Marlinton or one of the surrounding towns.
