House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4 adults-2 children)
I have traveled around the world and I am so happy to have settled here in Santa Cruz. I am fortunate to have my family nearby and we all enjoy our beautiful little town. I love my home and my garden. I live here part of the year and enjoy sharing it with the lovely people who come to stay.
Elaine purchased this House in 1991

Good Beach Area
Generally quite a good place to stay. However, decorative knick-knacks and no open kitchen storage were a bit of a drawback. We could have used a bit more space to accommodate our 10 day stay.
The house is a perfect location, with a lovely beach just down the street. The beds were comfortable and it was nice having each bedroom having its own bathroom. My only negative would be that it felt a little tired. Fresh paint and a little editing of the knickknacks would give it a more modern feel.
Perfect for a family beach getaway!
The Beach Retreat had everything we needed and is in close proximity to the beach. Lovely back patio for sitting, visiting, reading enjoying the hanging gardens. Comfortable rooms inside and all the amenities. We plan to return for another delightful getaway!

Peaceful and lovely
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the beach retreat. The house was very comfortable and private.I really enjoyed all the flowers growing everywhere on the property. It was a little chilly and foggy when I visited in July, the gas fireplace was great for warming up cold feet after being on the beach. The beach was only a block or so away, and the house itself was located in a central location, making it easy to get just about anywhere in the Santa Cruz area. We enjoyed walking to the Crows Nest for dinner down the beach, and there were coffee shops and breakfast spots that you could walk to as well. Loved it!
We were pleasantly surprised to find that 12th Avenue ends at a set of stairs that lead right to the beach. The street is quiet and safe to walk down. The Beach Retreat is clean and comfortable, perfect for adults and older children. It is well equipped with linens, towels and dishes. Elaine had an outdoor plug installed when I asked if I could plug in my new all-electric car, which was very kind and helpful, and responded immediately when we couldn't find some bedding. The Retreat has a great floor plan with en suite bathrooms and an open living and dining area. We had a great stay!
Great house near the beach
Great location. Plenty of room for a family of 4.
Thank you. I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
Our house is on a quiet street but it is near so many great beaches and activities. The beach at the end of the street is one of the most popular in the county as it has lifeguards, fire pits and surfboard and stand up paddle board rentals all within walking distance. There are restaurants and nightclubs that you can walk to. The Crow's Nest down the beach, has a Thursday night luau during the summer months. Make sure you take the free water taxi across the harbor to Aldo's for an unparalleled view during breakfast and try their fugasa french toast and the best Bloody Marys...to die for!
