Come and get away to a rustic and charming log home nestled in the wood's just a minutes to the Umpqua River and to the historical town of Elkton. This area is also home to a couple of excellent local wineries with tasting rooms to enjoy all of the local wines.

Watch and listen to the wildlife, witness deer roaming the premises, breathe the fresh air, relax on the deck with valley views, and fish to your hearts content. This fully furnished log home surrounded by 12 acres of pine trees, has everything for a group of hunters and fishermen, a smaller more intimate group of family and friends, or a couple looking to get away for tranquility and privacy. There is plenty of space to park a drift boat in the garage, and a huge basement to store your fishing and hunting gear.

The town of Elkton is situated at the junction of Elk Creek, the Umpqua River, and is home toseveral wineries which offer wine tasting from award winning wines of the Umpqua Valley. Featured local wines include pinot noir, reisling, gewurztaminer, and pinot gris with wine tasting trips of the Umpqua Valley are offered in spring, summer and fall. In additon, there is a butterfly pavilion and a native Oregon plant botanical outdoor garden to enjoy. Try 'Tomaselli's Pastry Mill' which has the best food in town. They offer authentic home-style cuisine along with pastries that are out of this world!

For the fisherman, the fish are biting year round! Fish on the Umpqua River, on many surrounding lakes, or head out to sea in a chartered boat. There is never a day the fish don't bite. If ocean fishing is your bag, Reedsport and Winchester bay are only a 35 minute drive.

For the hunter, Elkton is located at the junction of the Siuslaw, Melrose and Tioga units and is home to bear, cougar, deer, elk, wild turkey, game birds and much more!

For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are so many things to see and do. River raft and kayak trips are available with professional guided tours or you can kayak down the Umpqua yourself. The coast has a lot to offer too. There is crabbing, clamming, many hiking trails, and the Oregon Dunes. The elk refuge is spectacular and fun for the whole family to see and is within a 20 minute drive towards the coast.

I'm Christine's biggest fan, have rented this place several times per year for at least the last 5 years, have always been too busy to provide the review she deserves so here goes! This cabin is spotless, quiet, and has all the amenities. I've used it for a weekend with my family and for a weekend of fishing with the boys and it never disappoints. Christine is a very professional owner as well - you won't be disappointed with her cabin!

Great cabin in the woods.

We had a great time in the cabin. It was a beautiful place. It was secluded. Our cell phones did not work at the cabin. We loved the peace and quiet. The fishing guide that was recommended was well worth it.

I stayed at the cabin for two nights August 19 and 20. Cabin was very nice, spacious and well maintained. I would highly recommend it for any tourist. Close to Elkton and easy to get to. Quiet and secluded. The weather was very hot when we were there and the ceiling fans that worked helped a lot. One of the fans didn't want to turn on, but we didn't need that bedroom. Cooled off well at night. I will definitely be back in the future.

comfortable cabin

  • 4 of 5

We stayed the last weekend of July and the cabin was clean and very comfortable. The Umpqua river was fabulous for swimming and fishing. We enjoyed our visit to the Elkton Butterfly Garden. The little Mexican place at the end of town had great pork carnitas. Be sure to grab pastries at the Pastry Mill. Great pinot noir wine tasting at Brandburg Tasting Room. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and we grilled a salmon on the grill.

Natural Setting

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was really nice and very clean! Set in the trees and mountains/hills. We were able to go to Reedsport for the day and Wildlife Safari another day with our three kids....wished we would have had time to also fish and explore the area more! The only downfall was neighbors down the hill had music playing every evening and were running equipment....I'm sure that's not an every weekend thing though. Owner also was very friendly and helpful! Loved that she made the extra time to make sure everything was going well and even sent a note after our stay.
