Welcome to the biggest bargain in Guanajuato vacation rentals! Perfect for one or two people, our newly renovated two-room apartment is bright, quiet, spacious, and secure.
La Casa Rosa apartment is located on a quiet, private street in the La Presa neighborhood of Guanajuato. La Presa is the quietest neighborhood in town, and an easy fifteen-minute stroll from downtown. If you're planning to study Spanish here, all the language schools are within walking distance. If you're just taking it easy, three of the best restaurants in town are less than ten minutes away.
A private entrance and a plant-lined patio lead to your apartment. The large main room is the living, dining, and kitchen area, with rustic but comfortable Mexican furnishings, all modern appliances, and a view overlooking the garden. (Help yourself to grapefruit from our tree!) Two steps across a small breezeway is the bedroom, which is furnished with a queen-size bed, a spacious wardrobe, and a nightstand. The bathroom is decorated with traditional Mexican talavera tile.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a four-burner gas stove and oven, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans, and complimentary purified water. Wireless broadband Internet service is available at no extra charge if you bring your own WiFi-equipped laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Secure off-street parking is available.
Your hosts live right next door. He's American, she's Mexican, and we're both bilingual. We're happy to offer tips on Guanajuato restaurants, language schools, and things to see and do around town.
La Casa Rosa apartment is self-service. We supply fresh linens weekly. Smoking on the patio only, please.
A word about our town: Guanajuato is the ideal vacation spot for the visitor who wants to see the ''real'' Mexico. Though large enough to offer a wealth of museums, restaurants, and shopping, this historic colonial city is also small enough to be friendly and accessible to the first-time visitor. It's the perfect place to learn Spanish, too, either at the University of Guanajuato or at a number of independent language schools. The three-week International Cervantino Festival in October is the biggest and most important cultural festival in all of Latin America.

We’ll say it again: You won't find a better deal on a one-bedroom vacation rental in central Guanajuato.

Don and Gela have lived in Guanajuato for fifteen years, and have rented this apartment for the past ten years. Among the first to offer a vacation-rental apartment in Guanajuato, we know what travelers want, and we know Guanajuato like the backs of our hands. Our long experience also teaches us that every guest is different. If you want personal attention from us, we'll provide it. If you want to be left alone, we can do that, too. Finally, please note that the apartment is right behind our house. It's safe and secure, and our expert advice is right next door. As we say in México, nuestra casa es su casa. ¡Bienvenidos!
Great apartment, great hosts, great town! What more can we say?
Jack and Joanne, Minneapolis
This house was quiet, clean and private. It was clean and had all of the necessary amenities. The only thing we wish it had was a breezeway between the bedroom and the kitchen/bathroom. We were there for 4 weeks to learn Spanish. While the walk to town was about 20-25 minutes, it was a pleasant way to start every morning. If your not heading into town, there is plenty around La Presa. Don was very friendly and gave us our privacy. He was also helpful with local landmarks and places to eat. I'd recommend this to anyone staying in Guanajuato.
We had only a short stay in Guanajuato, but this was a great place to spend it. Don & Gela were helpful and a wealth of information. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The city itself is quirky and fun. Lots to see and do, easy access to public transportation. I highly recommend this city and this casita.
Don and Gela were amazing hosts! The house looks just like the photos. It is nice and clean, surrounded by green.
Gela gave us homemade butter, honey and pancakes. What else can I say? It filled our hearts with joy!
Guanajuato is an amazing city, full of color and history. The house is located on the top of a hill. We could see that it could be an inconvenience for those who don't like or cannot walk that much. A cab can fix that issue anyway.
I would definitely recommend this apartment and Guanajuato to anyone. The food is delicious, weather is perfect and the people make the best of it.
We know we will be back and when it happens it will be to La Casa Rosa.
I enjoyed my stay in Guanajuato. I was there to study Spanish and to do some sightseeing. I felt very secure as a single female traveling alone. The neighborhood was quiet. The apartment was comfortable and I used the patio some days to eat and study. The apartment was up a slight incline so I recommend it to people in shape or those who don't mind taking a taxi. Taxi's are not expensive and there is a bus stop right at the bottom of the hill. Buses are 5 pesos. The apartment was clean, well maintained and the kitchen window overlooked a small garden. Don and Gela were very nice and helpful. I would rent the apartment again should I return to Guanajuato. In the winter it is cold at night and I recommend bringing warm clothes.
My husband and I stayed for a month in this little casita in the garden of Don and Gela. Don and Gela were very gracious and helpful hosts. Gela and I discovered a shared passion for Frida Kahlo and she trustingly loaned me her wonderful collection of Frida books. Not having been to Guanajuato in this season before, Bob found the evenings very cold and Don graciously rounded him up a poncho and an electric heater. The house does get very cold and a heater was very much appreciated. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen modern and well equipped and the garden lovely. The apartment is tiny but has everything you need, including proximity to the hosts but as much privacy as you need. It is about a five minute easy climb up the lovely Calle San Juan de Dios (cars can drive right up to the door) and a short climb up into the stunning mountainsides overlooking the city. For me, it was a comfortably paced 25 minute walk into the centre of the city and buses pass frequently on the street below. La Presa, to me, is the loveliest part of the city and feels very safe and tranquil. I would definitely recommend this little house to a couple or single traveller
My partner and I stayed one month at La Casa Rosa. We really enjoyed our stay thanks to Don and Gela's attitude: we couldn't expect more friendly and helpful hosts. Gela graciously shared her blender with me everyday. She also brought some fresh herbs and flowers to our kitchen. Don was always happy to give us advice for the rest of our trip in Mexico and on the best language schools in Guanajuato or where to go to get your hair cut. They are simply very nice people who really care about their guests. The casa is nicely decorated with Mexican ceramics and colourful fabrics and we enjoyed the quiet courtyard among pot plants. As for the location, you can walk to the center in 20mn and escape the city whenever you want, as the mountain is just around the corner. Don and Gela, thanks again for everything. That was a great pleasure!
