About The Owner

We have lived in Washington for over ten years and love this cosmopolitan city where people get up every morning and get to work on changing the world. The most powerful people in DC can alter the course of history and try to make the world a better place. It's a city where philosophical debate and advocacy of issues beyond one's own family or pocketbook rule the day; a city where what's going on in one's head is far more important than what one is wearing; a city where people come from all over the world to experience democracy and learn the principles of our free society.

We get visitors from all over the country and the world. Some come for one time visit with their family, others keep coming back number of times a year as we host many repeat guests related to the federal government, foreign embassies and the US State Department. We take great pride in having our unit very clean (our mom cleans it, so you know it’s spotless), conveniently located within walking distance to all shopping, restaurants and Metro.

We want you to enjoy your visit whether it is once in a lifetime trip with your family or monthly visit for work. We are looking forward to hosting you in DC and if there is something we can help with, let us know.

Why The Owner chose Northwest Washington

Situated in the heart of the city is the tony neighborhood of DuPont Circle. Located in a section of Washington called 'Old City', DuPont Circle is a traffic circle, neighborhood, and historic district. A number of historic homes can be found throughout the area, including the post-presidential residence of Woodrow Wilson. DuPont Circle is a known destination for fine dining and entertainment.

This cosmopolitan neighborhood includes an eclectic collection of shops and trendy restaurants that draw visitors young and old. Originally populated by Washington's old money and nouveau riche, DuPont Circle is now home to artists, intellectuals, and young professionals. Turn-of-the-century mansions and brownstones—once home to some the city's most prominent families—now house some of the nation's finest art museums, hippest restaurants, quirky shops, and foreign embassies. It is also home to the Phillips Collection, one of the city's foremost art museums featuring paintings by Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, Picasso, and others.

What makes this condo unique

The proximity to the National Mall, White House and all of downtown is just unmatched in this apartment. On the weekend, DuPont Circle has one of the largest organic farmers' markets in the city. This neighborhood is accessible by foot or cab. WalkScore rates our unit and the surrounding neighborhood a walkability rating of 98 out of 100 - so as perfect as one can get. There are two Metro Stations nearby our condo - Dupont Circle which is pretty close as well as U Street. Both within walking distance about 10 minutes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A huge thank you for our wonderful stay at your beautiful apartment. We were very excited about all that Washington offered & hopeful that the apartment & Dupont Circle would be the ideal base. Our expectations were exceeded. The apartment & location were perfect. We immediately felt comfortable & at home, if not trendy in your stylish setting. We not only enjoyed the major Washington sights but also the gentle strolls around Dupont Circle, great restaurants & stunning architecture. For the second week of our holiday we are enjoying another beautiful VRBO property in Oxford, Maryland. All in all the perfect vacation.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

My family spent a week at this wonderful condo and loved everything about it. The location is wonderful and close to everything. We found the unit very clean, fresh and almost feeling brand new and even nicer than we saw on the website. The neighborhood is very safe, close to the Smithsonian and all the sights. We walked to two grocery stores around the corner (Whole Foods and Safeway), both of which are very close. The owner gave us great tips on where to go eat and was so nice that we almost felt like having a new friend. Highly recommend to everyone who can get on the calendar as it seems that they book up pretty far in advance.

Great location, really made you feel like a local. Very close to great stores and restaurants. Easy walk to the White House right past embassies. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed to make breakfast and snacks and feel like we were home.

Clean, modern, well appointed unit in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

My family (husband and 3 kids) and I stayed in this unit recently for a sightseeing trip to Washington, DC. Staying at this property really "made" our trip. We found the unit to be extremely clean (I always find something at a hotel that bothers me; not at this property). It has a very "modern"/fresh decor. We arrived late at night and all linens were ready for us. The kitchen was very well equipped (full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, etc). There are a few grocery stores within walking distance of the property (Safeway, Trader Joes and Whole Foods). It was so nice to have a kitchen to have breakfast, snack and drink items for our family. I also liked that the living space (living room and kitchen) are on one level and the bedrooms are on another (it was so nice to have that extra space for a family of 5).

Cabs and Uber cars are also plentiful in the area. Also important - washer/dryer in unit! I can not say enough good things about this property, its cleanliness and its location - we loved it!!

Great space to live like a DC resident, not a tourist

  • 5 of 5

Nicely designed space (clean and modern but well above Ikea standards!) on a beautiful tree-lined street, about 10 min walk to the heart of DuPoint circle, but even closer to the happening 16th street shopping and dining street. The host is very gracious (let us keep our bags tucked in the corner while the cleaner was doing their thing on our final day, as our flight wasn't until late afternoon.) Using the simple key-code entrance system vs. the need to fuss with keys -- nice touch!

Both rooms are great but one is much more clearly the "master", so if you are two couples traveling you may want to note to figure who gets the prime space -- but perfect for parents with taste traveling with kids or teens. The master has it's own bathroom; the second bedroom uses the convenient hallway bathroom with sliding door.

The kitchen is the killer feature -- Italian cabinetry and top notch appliances, which is great if you want to avoid hitting the pricey trendy restaurants every lunch and dinner. There's a nice seating area around the TV (with pay cable stations available) to relax after a long day of museums and memorials.

If you don't mind taking a long walk or Uber-ing over to the mall/downtown or Georgetown, and staying at least 3 days in DC, this is an ideal property. If your itinerary is over 90% museums and downtown highlights and you want to keep costs low, perhaps consider staying somewhere a bit closer.

Highly-recommended!

Once in a lifetime family trip.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had planned this trip for quite some time. This property was a perfect location for us. Everything about the property was comfortable and better than expected. We would definitely come and stay here again and have recommended to many of our friends who are planning similar trips.
