About Lynn Contant Fass

I run a private horse farm in NC. Horses and all animals are a lifelong love for me. I have bred and showed vizslas, Hungarian pointers, for over 30 years. Having the cabin, has allowed us to take our dogs with us.

My husband, is a consultant for the furniture industry.

Lynn Contant Fass purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Lynn Contant Fass chose Blue Ridge Mountains

After looking at over 100 cabins in every area of the High Country, this was the one. The cabin has every thing we wanted and then some. We got to make some of the building decisions to finalize the cabin. Furnish and decorate it for our comfort and our guests. The surrounding area of Todd is perfect for whatever you might want to do, or just do nothing. Sit on one (or use the hammock) of the two decks looking out to the mountains, breathe that mountain air. This to me, is what it is all about. Enjoy your stay.

What makes this cabin unique

Just to be in the mountains. Not sure what draws us there, but the beauty is indescribable. There is something for everyone.

Perfect Christmas

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for Christmas and we had a great time. The cabin is kept very clean and had plenty of room for our family. Their are views of Christmas trees on both sides of the cabin which made my daughter's Christmas even better than we could have anticipated. There is a park within walking distance from the house and is a perfect place to take your child or pet. Thank you Lynn for making our Christmas extra special. Highly recommend this property.

No stay

  • 5 of 5

My family wanted to rent this beautiful home for an upcoming vacation. Unfortunately due to some untimely events we were unable. But prior, while trying to get a whole slew of families together in deciding on when and where to go, Lynn he owned was extremely patient with us and helped and every way she could. We hope to rent from this family one day soon.

Thanks agin

Wonderful Christmas Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cabin so the family could all get together and enjoy Christmas. Our daughters, son-in-laws, our grandsons and the Locklear grandparents made some wonderful memories here. The grandsons could not believe they survived without Wifi (it was a little hard after Santa brought them new computers)! We also were able to host a gathering for family and friends that lived near. The house was big enough and everyone enjoyed food and fellowship. Our granddaughter DOG really enjoyed the fenced in backyard. We were gald she got to come to the pet friendly cabin too. The garage was also very nice for unloading all our stuff since it was very cold outside when we arrived and when we got rain one afternoon. The kids enjoyed snow tubing at Sugar Mtn. and free sleigh riding at Beech Mtn. along with a free marshmellow roast over an outdoor fire! Fun!

We all enjoyed our stay and just wish we could of had a few more days!

Thank you Lynn and David for all the special touches (the Christmas tree in the big family living room and wreath on door) you added and for allowing others to enjoy your Wonderful Cabin!

Fantastic Cabin!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had an outstanding visit! The cabin was perfect for our family, 7 adults, 4 kids (ages 2-10). It hosted the perfect family get-together through the christmas holidays. We are already looking forward to booking another trip in the summer to allow us to take advantage of the proximity to the New River. The cabin is within a few hundred yards to the river and overlooks a 270 degree view of the valley. In addition, there is a nice public playground and picnic area between the river and the cabin. The cabin provides spacious accommodations as well as all the little details you can think of (salt/pepper, wine opener, potato peeler, screwdriver, cheese grater, kids pack and play, river tubes, etc. etc.). In addition, there was an abundant assortment of books, magazines, games, puzzles, to keep everyone occupied. Proximity to shops in Boone (15 minutes) and the local Todd General store (2 minutes) provided quick and easy shopping if needed.

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for! We couldn't have been happier!

River Ridge Mountain Home the Best Home Away from Home!

  • 5 of 5

I just wanted to write and say how much we enjoyed our stay in your VBRO home last week. The home was WONDERFUL!!! Everything was there that we needed, it was extremely clean, the VRBO pictures don't do it justice ... it's so nice, and it was so centrally located to everything we wanted to do, besides being so comfy, we just can't thank you enough for sharing it with us. We totally enjoyed: roasting marshmallows in the firepit outside; grilling steaks and fresh fish on the grill; having a fish fry with the fresh fish we caught at the Grandfather Mountain Fish Farm; catching wooly worms on the deck and playground to take with us to the Banner Elk Wooly Worm Festival; in addition to our excursions to the LInville Caverns; Gem Mining; Tweetsie Railroad; Mystery Hill; Mast General Store; Todd General Store and Bakery; and our climb to Rough Ridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Linville Viaduct ... All our adventures were extremely fun and the weather, color and your home made our family gathering and vacation the BEST ever. We can't wait to visit again real soon!!

PS ... I would definately tell anyone looking for a different but very good place to eat they should try the Coyote Kitchen in Boone and the Frog & Monkey Restaurant in Banner Elk ... both have really good food, friendly staff and their just a little different!
