Overrated Romantic Getaway
My husband and I rented this cabin for 5 days. We arrived Thursday April 19 and left Monday April 23 we wasn't supposed to check out until Tuesday morning but we decided to leave in the middle of the night. The cabin was cute and could have been romantic but it wasn't for us. First off the stairs are horrible but we knew about the stairs but just didn't realize how bad they were. The cabin was very nice and cute but hardly any thing worked or was usable. We couldn't use the fireplace because it was April but it was 30 degrees at night. The fireplaces was one of the biggest reasons why we chose this cabin for our one year anniversary. We wasn't informed about this. The hot tub never got hot. I didn't contact the owner because we really didn't want to use it anyway because there were people always behind our cabin working on the cabin next to us so there was definitely no privacy. The Direct TV never worked while we were there but the Wifi worked. The DVD player in the living room didn't work but the bedroom does. The bed is definitely a full size, it's very uncomfortable, and very squeaky. The bed was horrible. The kitchen was good. We loved the water pressure and heat. The wash and dryer worked fine. The shower and toliet area are very, very, very small. The jacuzzi was amazing and the best feature in this cabin. I would stay again if the owner was to fix the problems.
As this guests stated, we were never notified of any issues regarding the cabin. The Direct Tv was working when we cleaned the cabin. We always check all the tvs and clean hot tubs to ensure all is working. We found out the trees were blocking the satellite cable. Hot tub we found out later the heating unit went and has been replaced and fixed.
Unfortunate thing is the guests never contacted is of anything.
Also, the bed is a queen not a full. The bed takes Queen sheets. So unless you have a king at home and then come to this cabin that has a queen size bed it may fill smaller to you.
For the price, we were pleased!
Our trip was kind of spur of the moment for a softball tournament where our daughters were staying at the water park across the street and unlike some of the other parents, we wanted to avoid the $320+ per night. Therefore we scrambled to find a spot close to them and affordable.
I’ve read some negative reviews about this cabin but it was exactly as advertised. Clean, quiet, cozy. For the price, my wife and I were very pleased. Thank you!
My husband and we're looking for a special place to spend our vacation in the Smoky Mountain area. We chose this cabin and we were not disappointed. It is unique and one of the kind and very reasonably priced. We do recommend it and will rent it for our next vacation to the Mountains.
Thank you for your stay and we look forward to your next one!
Have a great summer and safe travels
The cabin is just as pictured and advertised. The photo's are spot on as well as the description. It is cozy and inviting, the Hot Tub was wonderful, the Jacuzzi Tub indoors is bliss. We enjoyed everything. The resort is peaceful, and close to town without all the frenzy. I can't say enough good things about this little gem of a place. We will be back! Thank you again for having an affordable place for us to have a very laid back and restful vacation.
Bad, bad, bad
We had a very bad experience at this property and feel compelled to share it to prevent others from our misfortune. The unit's only bed is very small - MAYBE a full size. The mattress caves in the center and pulls away from the headboard, so we spent the entire night cramped, fighting to keep our pillows on the bed and miserable. The lumpy couch where my husband ended up sleeping wasn't much better. The description indicates that there are several stairs to gain access to the property. In fact, there are 43 or 4 flights of stairs from the side of the road where you leave your car to the entrance to the cabin. That means that you have to drag your luggage, groceries, etc. up 4 flights of stairs to get into the cabin. You can't even see your vehicle from the cabin, so security is a concern as well. The hot tub didn't work either of the days that we were there, the toilet ran all night, the breaker blew, knocking out the power to the bedroom and the wifi, requiring my husband to crawl around the dirt basement outside the property to fix, and the property wasn't clean when we arrived after check in, requiring us to go back down (4 flights of stairs) and find something to do for an hour after driving 7 hours to get there. It was a complete disaster and the property manager was unwilling to give us a refund or make any other concessions. We ended up leaving and finding another cabin - much, much nicer for the same price. We lost an entire day of our vacation, however, reloading the car, finding another place to stay and waiting until it became available. We have rented dozens of cabins and cottages on VRBO over the years and this is the only time we had such a miserable experience. The property owner insisted that the bed is queen sized and the mattress new, as if we can't tell the difference. I had back pain the entire next day from the miserable sleep that we got, requiring a chair massage and popping Tylenol all day. Definitely not the "Paradise" we had anticipated and hoped for. We have never stayed in a cabin with a full size bed - particularly one with such a lousy mattress. The sad thing is that there was plenty of room to put in the queen or king sized bed that the unit clearly needed.
Guest: John K
Guest called the day after check in to complain that the bed was to small and uncomfortable. Of Course, If you normally sleep in a King bed, a Queen bed will seem small and uncomfortable. They also said that the Hot tub was not hot. We offered to send out maintenance, but they refused and decided on a early departure instead. We decided to check out the issues ourselves and found that the guests had broken the bed frame. (Mattress is only 18 months old.) The bed and frame had to be replaced. Our Hot tub company discovered that the guests had accessed a control panel to the Hot tub, under the cabin. This panel is NOT intended for guests and they attempted to over ride the "high heat limit" switch. There are temperature limits in place for the health and safety of users. When someone attempts to over ride the high heat temperature, the Hot tub will shut down. This is what happened. The guests caused the Hot tub to shut off.
Fantastic Anniversary Trip!
We absolutely loved this cabin! We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and this was the perfect place to be. We had most meals in the cabin. It was very clean and romantic. We enjoyed, and spent most of our time rocking in the rocking chairs and relaxing in the hot tub on the back screen porch! We look forward to staying here again.
The cabin is very conveniently located off Hwy. 66, across the street from the Sevierville Events Center and the Wilderness Water Park. Within a half mile, there are many restaurants, shopping and attractions. You are close to everything, yet have the feel of a cozy, peaceful retreat!
