Guestbook comments from the owner

We were married here, so we visit every year! We ate a lot. Went to Applewood, Tony Roma's, Timberwood Grill, Big Daddy's Pizza, Denny's, Firehouse Sub's. We did not cook at all! We spent a day in Gatlinburg, enjoyed shopping and ole Time Pictures. We loved the Tram in Ober Gatlinburg and breakfast at Applewood! Loved the food! Loved the Ferris Wheel in the Island of Pigeon Forge and the Hot tub and Jacuzzi in this Cabin. Can't wait to come back next year!

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and we're looking for a special place to spend our vacation in the Smoky Mountain area. We chose this cabin and we were not disappointed. It is unique and one of the kind and very reasonably priced. We do recommend it and will rent it for our next vacation to the Mountains.

Some great, some not so great

  • 3 of 5

Our vacation was very nice but I wish we had chosen a different cabin for selfish reasons.

I just want to jot down a few notes for others so they can be completely aware of what the cabin is like (if anyone but us cares about these sorts of things:

First of all, the cabin is adorable and very very romantic. I would only recommend this cabin for a couple who is used to each other though. lol The bedroom is very spacious and the entire bathroom is joined to the bedroom - huge and very spacious. We loved that. Well here goes:

- The toilet is not private (I appreciate privacy) - it has a pull shade door and is open over the top.

- The shower water pressure was intense so that was kind of nice but the shower unit itself was small. Not a lot of room for shaving your legs. lol

- There wasn't a bench or towel hangers or clothes hangers right off the shower so you had to jet cold wet and naked across to the sinks to get your towel and clothes. I felt bad about using so many towels to wipe water off of the floor.

- The bed was just a nightmare. Very very squeaky and uncomfortable. We think it was actually the box springs that were so squeaky. Someone else posted a very accurate description of the bed. It was pretty bad. Hopefully the entire bed was replaced with something bigger. There's definitely room for a bigger bed.

- The picture of the cabin shows a side view taken from another persons property which you can't access. When I read the reviews about how many stairs there were, I looked at the picture and thought they might have just been whining. But no - you park your car at the entrance to the stairs below the cabin. There are a lot of stairs. If you don't mind that, then you get a nice little workout.

Overall, the cabin is beautiful (especially the awesome tub with stone decor - very very nice and relaxing) and very romantic but we didn't love some things just because of selfish reasons - the bed was uncomfortable to us and the toilet and shower issues. We had excellent communication with the owner who was very nice, the place was cleaned and the hot tub was nice. Others have left wonderful reviews so I think it might have just been a preference thing.

Amazing Place

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is just as pictured and advertised. The photo's are spot on as well as the description. It is cozy and inviting, the Hot Tub was wonderful, the Jacuzzi Tub indoors is bliss. We enjoyed everything. The resort is peaceful, and close to town without all the frenzy. I can't say enough good things about this little gem of a place. We will be back! Thank you again for having an affordable place for us to have a very laid back and restful vacation.

Fantastic Anniversary Trip!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this cabin! We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and this was the perfect place to be. We had most meals in the cabin. It was very clean and romantic. We enjoyed, and spent most of our time rocking in the rocking chairs and relaxing in the hot tub on the back screen porch! We look forward to staying here again.

Bad, bad, bad

  • 1 of 5

We had a very bad experience at this property and feel compelled to share it to prevent others from our misfortune. The unit's only bed is very small - MAYBE a full size. The mattress caves in the center and pulls away from the headboard, so we spent the entire night cramped, fighting to keep our pillows on the bed and miserable. The lumpy couch where my husband ended up sleeping wasn't much better. The description indicates that there are several stairs to gain access to the property. In fact, there are 43 or 4 flights of stairs from the side of the road where you leave your car to the entrance to the cabin. That means that you have to drag your luggage, groceries, etc. up 4 flights of stairs to get into the cabin. You can't even see your vehicle from the cabin, so security is a concern as well. The hot tub didn't work either of the days that we were there, the toilet ran all night, the breaker blew, knocking out the power to the bedroom and the wifi, requiring my husband to crawl around the dirt basement outside the property to fix, and the property wasn't clean when we arrived after check in, requiring us to go back down (4 flights of stairs) and find something to do for an hour after driving 7 hours to get there. It was a complete disaster and the property manager was unwilling to give us a refund or make any other concessions. We ended up leaving and finding another cabin - much, much nicer for the same price. We lost an entire day of our vacation, however, reloading the car, finding another place to stay and waiting until it became available. We have rented dozens of cabins and cottages on VRBO over the years and this is the only time we had such a miserable experience. The property owner insisted that the bed is queen sized and the mattress new, as if we can't tell the difference. I had back pain the entire next day from the miserable sleep that we got, requiring a chair massage and popping Tylenol all day. Definitely not the "Paradise" we had anticipated and hoped for. We have never stayed in a cabin with a full size bed - particularly one with such a lousy mattress. The sad thing is that there was plenty of room to put in the queen or king sized bed that the unit clearly needed.

Owner's Response: Guest: John K Guest called the day after check in to complain that the bed was to small and uncomfortable. Of Course, If you normally sleep in a King bed, a Queen bed will seem small and uncomfortable. They also said that the Hot tub was not hot. We offered to send out maintenance, but they refused and decided on a early departure instead. We decided to check out the issues ourselves and found that the guests had broken the bed frame. (Mattress is only 18 months old.) The bed and frame had to be replaced. Our Hot tub company discovered that the guests had accessed a control panel to the Hot tub, under the cabin. This panel is NOT intended for guests and they attempted to over ride the "high heat limit" switch. There are temperature limits in place for the health and safety of users. When someone attempts to over ride the high heat temperature, the Hot tub will shut down. This is what happened. The guests caused the Hot tub to shut off.

We spent the weekend, just the two of us and the cabin was perfect. Great for a couple retreat. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. Very Clean! Highly recommend for a couple. The entrance is a straight up staircase, so be prepared.
