About Mark Norman
I love the outdoors and everything it has to offer! I have been exploring the area the last several years with my Border Collies and have enjoyed everything inside AND outside the park. I can make suggestions on places to visit depending on your interest around the area just let us know!
Mark Norman purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Mark Norman chose Oakhurst
The location of the home is within driving distance to the town of Oakhurst & the South Entrance to Yosemite National Park. It's also one of the few home properties that have direct access Highway 41 so it's easy to get in and out of the home. One unique feature of the home is (and probably least known) is that our acreage includes the river itself which means that 20 feet across the river still belongs to us. The river cannot be trespassed because it's what I consider a 'private river'
What makes this Cabin unique
One of the great benefits of the home is the constant sound of the river. It is absolute peace because I can have the music or have as much noise as possible and not hear anyone else around us or vice versa. There are plenty of places to hike around the property whether it be along the river or by the hill side. The Great Room is probably the best place in the home because you just get a little piece of everything from the view of the river from the living area to the scenic views of Deadwood Mountain from the dining area and kitchen while being around everyone else.

A great house but needs a little TLC.
Beautiful house. Excellent location
Loved staying at this beautiful house over New Years week. House was nice and big for our families. Great floor plan. The running river in the backyard was amazing to wake up to and for kids to explore and hike. Amazing views. In the middle of the woods but minutes away from stores. Short drive to Yosemite. Owner/management office easy to get a hold of and very friendly. Nice hot showers at all times unlike other cabins/houses we stayed at.
Amazing location, impressive home and super fun creek.
Our family of 6 went for a wedding in the hottest part of August to this home in Oakhurst.
The location was excellent, close to town and overlooking a very nice creek. Even in the hottest month of August it had abundant running water. The house is quite large and is well equipped with necessary amenities. It has a large great room and separate family room, 3 bedrooms with queen beds and a very large attic room that opens from the master with several bunk beds but no A/C. Our biggest concerns were the fact that the house needed some repairs but we could not get in contact with the owner. Such items as a continuously leaking bath tub, burnt out light bulbs, tripping electrical switches, non operating TV, etc. could not be fixed while we were there.
Overall, our family enjoyed our stay, but it could have been that much better if more attention was given to such an impressive property.
Excellent for our group for Thanksgiving
Beautiful property; spacious accommodations;
Casa Rio is a very nice place. We enjoyed our stay. Lots of room. Could use a little tlc - little things, nothing major. On arrival a few wastebaskets not empty. Never could get any of the tv's to work. Called number posted for any problems-never got a response.
Fantastic View, Very private
We stayed at Casa Rio for 4 days and it was wonderful. Comfortable bedding, hot tub was already running when we got there. Very private and cozy. We would stay here again. 10 minutes to Bass Lake where we went swimming, very close to Yosemite.
