Why Jennifer Thornton chose Rio Grande
As a young married couple attending the University of Utah, we fell in love with downtown Salt Lake City, and always talked about being able to buy a little 'Urban Cabin' one day in the center of SLC. In 2008, we were fortunate enough to find this beautiful little condo, and have absolutely loved it. Whenever we are looking for a little escape from Suburbia, it's nice to be able to head to the 'Big City' for a couple of days. We love being within walking distance to all of the arts, restaurants, and entertainment in SLC.
What makes this Condo unique
Our building sits in what is called the Warehouse District of SLC. The building is over 100 years old, and is the original home of an old toy manufacturer. The building was converted to condos in the 1990's but retained much of the original architecture. The exposed brick and beams make it one of the most unique condo buildings in SLC. We literally searched every condo project in SLC before we settled on this building. It's so unique. We just love it. You can't beat the location either. We are literally walking distance to everything in downtown SLC.

Nice condo! Great location!
We enjoyed our stay. Condo was comfortable and had everything we needed. Owner was very easy to work with. Great location; close to restaurants, shopping, groceries. Public transportation in Salt Lake is very good and easy to navigate.
Perfect flat. Great location
The apartment is pretty and quiet, with a spacious kitchen and comfy sitting area. The location is great, with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We highly recommend it.
Central Location, Beautiful Space
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Salt Lake and loved our accommodations. Everything was meticulously cleaned upon our arrival and there was clear and prompt communication from the owner. So many fun activities are within walking distance including great restaurants and nightlife. We will definitely try to reserve this property on our next trip to Salt Lake!
Loved the secure parking. Everything was as noted and the customer service (via telephone) was prompt, polite and professional. We will be back :-)
My second time here
My second time staying. Centrally located - I can get everywhere. Chile - Tepin is great and Red Iguana2 is close. LOL. Love the condo, I keep joking to my Husband that we need to buy it.
Beautiful and central location
Loved this condo. Very central location in downtown SLC. Close to several restaurants. Beautifully decorated.
Just a few things to be aware of that may be useful for future bookers; there is only one parking space in a small gated parking lot for this condo. All street parking is metered and has a 90 minute max when a spot is available (popular downtown location to the convention center). There are two pay for parking lots within 1/2 block if you plan to have visitors or if you have more than one vehicle. They range from $20-$25 per day. Parking at the post office which is only a block away has an attendant and is $10 per day if there are no events happening while you are in town (there was a Jazz game during my visit so parking on Sunday was more and the free Sunday street parking was hard to get due to the game). I had several friends and family come to visit while I was in town so parking was a real challenge.
The bathroom was beautiful and a little tight. Shower was standard sized but if you need to shave, having a flexible body helps. Note to owner, a tiny stool in the corner of the shower would be helpful for the ladies :)
There is a coffee shop and restaurant in front of the Condos so there was some delivery truck or garbage truck noise particularly early in the morning (still dark outside) on a couple days. I'm an early riser myself and did't get an opportunity to sleep in so it wasn't a deal breaker.
There may need to be a contact email update for the owner as I did send a couple of emails asking about parking but didn't hear back. Once I arrived it was clear there wasn't really a solution for the parking anyway.
